The NEW Avios Spitfire has arrived. I took it out for its first few flights and was instantly confident enough to take it through all the moves to best show it off in the air. Fast and passes, rolls and loops all could be executed with ease. No advice to add for assembly. It really is quick and easy to put together because of the superb manual. The decals do take effort to apply and you do need to follow the instructions and placement for a satisfying result.

Your channel has a high quality type feel to it. The HD, the slow mo, the variety....Lets see some more of all of it! :) The VR is a nice new touch. Overall really nicely done mate. A+

Ah yes 4k is correct! I love the SLOW MOTION and lets see more VR! Have you done a video on your VR setup? That would be interesting to see exactly how you pull all that off. Seriously though.....thanks for the excellent quality videos / A+ production.

What is your battery placement with the 5000? Also I was given this plane and noticed though it’s 6S it doesn’t have a plug to support a 6S battery….just curious

Can you get sound boxs for spitfire?? Like you can with big rig rc trucks? I think that would be epic with this to drown out the tiny motor wherr noise. Prop sounds nice tho

Yes. There are systems for that BUT they do add weight. I don't think it needs it personally. The looks in the air make up for the lack of Merlin sound. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)

What a fantastic beast! Even though you flew it with a 5000 mAh 6S pack, it really seems to handle the extra weight with no issue at all... Do you think the battery bay can accommodate 2 x 2200 mAh 3S packs together?

Best spitfire yet from HK, you also flown the Flightline spit...you notice any difference between the two ? which battery pack did you use, at what cg? and you make any adjustments in the transmitter or just following the manual?

6S5000 pack and balanced at the back of the blisters on bottom of the wing if I remember correctly. Well within the CG range. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)

@@JohnVHRC I wasn't consciously avoiding it. Apologies. Difference? Difficult. Well the FL Spit is bigger. Was harder to get it down on our small patch. Overran the end of the patch a few times so more likely to damage it where we fly. They both fly really well though and look stunning in the air. Will ponder the question further.

great maiden ,what happened to the door looks like its missing , I ordered my spit after watching your unboxing , sadly when it arrived it has a massive list of defects i am still working my way through them so maiden for that weekend was postponed . I also noticed your flaps were not flush when it was sitting , i have the same problem looks like the rods are too long but if i shorten them i wont get full flaps i tested the flap servo on a tester and my servos are only quarter turn which i found strange so it will never get full flaps anway , Looks like i definitely got a duff model sad to say

I left the door at home. I'll have to look at the flaps but I don't think it matters too much if their not 100% flush. You'd only notice it close up. I did have to tinker with the length of the arms etc to get the best mechanical advantage but will look at it again. Your servo turning 90% sounds strange. You sure you have reset the model on your TX and started setting it up from scratch? Hope you get your issues resolved. It's a rewarding model to fly. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)

Hi, firstly thanks for your videos. Just a quick question if you have have time. I have been flying for about 10 months since I retired and have progressed from a dynam Piper cub to an 1100mm durafly seafire via a dynam Waco and a durafly slowpoke. I have now flown the seafire off grass about 20 times and apart from a few nose overs on landings am getting quite confident with it. I recently bought an avios 1450 spitfire which I have now built. The cog and throws are as manual, but I am a bit worried that it is so heavy. I have not flown anything this size and weight before. As I have seen you flying both the durafly seafire and the avios spitfire I was curious as to whether the avios requires more skill to fly because of the extra weight or if I am worrying needlessly. I know that I have to gird my loins and try sometime. I use a wind correction gyro in all my planes for that bit of extra help, but would appreciate a word of advice from someone who has flown both. The larger size will make it easier to fly if anything. Get height straight after take-off and trim it out over 2 circuits, 2 more circuits regular flight then try going to half and full flap to get used to that...but still at height so you can recover from stall if it happens. Keep your finger on the flap switch so you can take out the flap immediately if needed. Don't try and nail your first landing. You probably won't get the approach correct first time. Do it early in the flight to leave yourself enough battery for go around. You sound experienced enough. Just stick to a boring plan for maiden flight to maximise success. Good luck 👍

A lovely take off and it really seems quite tame handling wise, but maybe those flaps don't slow it down for landing as much as I'd like and a stall on landing is a possibility if your not careful . But maybe all spit are like that .

I thought that was actually quite slow. It was in zero wind which is rare for our flying site and for the UK when we fly. Bear that in mind. It would slow down a lot more with 5mph+ wind. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)

@@EssentialRC Oh no wind makes things a bit more challenging on landing . I saw a video of a maiden flight of this model from Robert Petrinčič and he stalled it and broke the prop, so I was interested to see how other bloggers got on with it, I guess that with draggy split flaps you need to keep the power on a bit on approach to avoid the stall and unpleasant bruises to this lovely scale foamie from Avios, your landing was fine though but I'd like to see other people land this spit in different conditions to see if there is an elevated stall tendency with this model in comparison to other spitfire's .

Eh yes, I did see that. Not great. you can't just cut power with full flap all the way to landing without being ready to add power. I did about 5 landings after that flight and didn't get close to stall on my final approach. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)

Avios has more scale detail, light system and is ready for FPV. The Flightline is slightly larger. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)

It is bigger so more difficult to land on our small flying strip as shown in the video but what they both share is being tail draggers so can nose over quite easily. Takes a lot of practice to land them in a scale way. And luck in my case. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)

No. 6S only. You won't get the power on 4S. Buy a 2S pack of same capacity and C rating and serial together for 6S. Cheers Dom (Essential RC).
