This made me realize how much i miss avocado. Stopped buying it together with stuff like coffee etc. Staying as much with local produce as possible (hence why i am trying to grow some stuff that usually gets imported from places like South Africa, South America, US etc
Im trying this recipe tomorrow i actually searched through alot of videos urs was by far the clearest easiest and ingredient cost friendly video i found. So i will leave another comment on how it turned out. Looking forward to it. Thank u!!
Interesting, I never would have thought to make ice cream out of avocado's. It is a must try for me. I will let you know how I like it. I love them so I think I will like it. My wife, probably not so much as she is not one to try new things.
Sugar is very important for the icecream’s texture. Without it the icecream will be icy and hard. If you want to use a sugar substitute you’ll have to use xantham gum powder with it to achieve the right texture
Love the videos, found you through preppy kitchen. Nice healthy/vegeterian food, nice and cute guy and delicious lookng food. Only complaint or question would be having to look up the measurements since I'm not american. Cups, fahrenheit etc. Possible to edit that in once the video is done? Since your showing the measurements in imperial anyway, could add metric?
avocado has a very delicate flavor, wouldn't the lime masks the scent of avocado and all you can smell is lime and not avocado? i followed your recipe without the lime and i like it better because you can smell the avocado and the ice cream tastes richer without the lime juice.
Hi- since this is homemade and doesn’t have any preservatives, I would say best to eat it within 3 weeks. But I’m always conservative with food safety so keep that in mind. Hope you love this recipe!
I've been searching through RU-vid to find a non-dairy avocado ice cream. Does anyone know if a two-ingredient recipe with just banana and avocado would taste good?
I was thinking of: 3 avocado Juice of 1 lime Maybe 6 Medjool dates 1 cup almond or soy milk 1 cup full-fat coconut milk Pinch of salt (or maybe just 1 can coconut milk & skip the almond/soy milk)
Tried last night but the texture is totally off...Now it's been sitting in my 30c degree room for about 15 minutes to defrost but it's still a big chunk of solid ice...
Hmm thats strange. I wonder if you didn't use enough enough cream, milk, or avocados? I do let my avocado ice cream soften a little before I scoop but i have never seen it hard as a rock. Did it have a good taste? THanks!
@@cookingwithcoit Thank you for replying! I made sure that I followed every detail of ur recipe. The taste was as good as expected though, only the texture was far from ideal. Would love to do more trial and error, just need someone to consume the not so perfect product hah.
Texture crossed my mind when I watched the video. Ice cream is supposed to be made in an ice cream maker. If not, you need to stir the mixture every hour so that it won't harden. I think that's why you have the problem
@@cookingwithcoit Oh! Okay😀.....but does skipping lime make a lot of difference in the flavour? I mean, i like slightly sweetened avocado just on its own, so...
