Avoid BOLONGO BAY BEACH RESORT IN ST. THOMAS USVI 

Thank you for posting this. We usually only hear about the places people recommend but it's good to know what to avoid, too.

We came very close to booking that resort last year. Thank goodness I watched a video a couple of women posted. When they opened the door to their room, I thought oh heck no! They were happy with the resort, but I couldn’t see spending that kind of money for that place. Thank you for your honesty in this video.

I can't argue with you, just stayed there and it felt like a motel 6. I will say the staff when we were there super friendly and accommodating. This is not a luxury resort, but I enjoyed it for what it was. Probably wouldn't stay there again though.

My wife and I stayed here and this video is absolutely spot on. I asked an employee when I was there how they got such good reviews and she laughed, saying they purchased them to offset the bad reviews.

I dont believe this I stayed their twice. And had a wonderful time. Maybe this was after a storm, that's what it looks like to me. And the people are very nice and Welcoming. My opinion, it's still a beautiful place to stay.

You are so right... I use to work there and it's a real Pit. The kitchen is full of cockroaches and very dirty. You can't swim at the beach because it's full of sea erchants. Very painful if you step on them. Worst beach on St Thomas. Plus to take a taxi from there is very expensive. The only thing good there was the bar.

That sucks about the resort but I hope you still enjoyed the island. I always wanted to see St. Thomas. I went to St.Martin a few months ago and loved it.

Good afternoon. Im sorry you had an unpleasant stay. Let me make you aware of the years and years of issues that Bolongo Bay Resort has had to deal with in regards to constant flooding and beach erosion due to water flow from the hillside during heavy rain storms/tropical systems (this has been a constant issue since the 70s). Just because its the Caribbean does not mean that every beach is rock free - St.Thomas is called Rock City because of the rugged terrain it has - even below the water line this still follows suit; so yes some beaches are the shoreline are rocky. The marine environments are disturbed enough so these rock reefs are not being disrupted. Because of the heating of the water, ALL Caribbean islands are dealing with increased dead "Seaweed" along the shorelines- this task has become quite cumbersome over the last 5 years. The resort is continually undergoing renovations; its a work in progress.

money cannot buy better organic gardening material ~ go ahead complain its free.
