I know right? True story, I have a ruby ring (9 on the Mohs scale) for over 12 years. It looks almost brand new without any scratches. I know 12 years isn’t a life time, but at one time I wore this ring everywhere. 😊 When I get married, If I want a colored gemstone ring, I will probably opt for a colored sapphire or a ruby.

I had a terrible manager in the past who opted for a brilliant cut morganite for her engagement ring. The ring was so cloudy and dull. Looked like plastic after a while. Needless to say her jewelry choices were as awful as her managing techniques.
Yep, I ultimately opted for a peachy-pink sapphire over a morganite. So worth the investment in terms of durability and the way the sun hits the facets sends a cantaloupe-like rainbow. Stunning.
Had my Morganite engagement ring for 6-7years now and no scratches(that I can tell). I wear it everyday practically all day and I work with children so I’m always banging into something without realizing. Price is way more affordable than a sapphire and still pretty good on the moh hardness scale 7.5/8 out of 10, sapphire at 9. If my morganite gets cloudy a little Dawn soap and warm water and a soft brush cleans it right up!
Buy a cheap pretty morganite. If it get noticaby scratched, just have it replaced. Instead of 2000 dollar diamond, you instead spend maybe 600 dollars on morganite replacements in your life time.
This is good advice. I picked my ring out with my husband. Normally I really like to do my research ahead of time, but we were being spontaneous! Lol. My ring is morganite with smaller diamond details. It's gorgeous but realistically a bit too pizzazz for me for everyday wear. That, plus a few other reasons, has lead to me only wearing it for special occasions instead of daily. It is still, to me, the most beautiful ring I could imagine. But I don't think I'd recommend it as an engagement ring lol
