Hi Bryan! I have an odd question, but I find it easier or relaxed to play when sitting in bad posture than in the way you describe. i.e. hunchback (bell pointing to floor) or leaned back when sitting (rounded back) I've had terrible posture for all my life (too much sitting at computer), and alot of problems with playing as well, but this is something I've been thinking for a while now. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Hi Bryan, what can you say about avoding to pass out during practise/concert/rehearsal? While standing all time, playing very high and very loud, the risc to pass out for me encreases dramatically (happend two times). I already know about drinking/eating enough or tensing body muscles, etc... and lets assume there is no deeper root cause like a disease. Beyond that, do you have any tipps?

Definitely try not to pass out while you’re playing! 😉 If playing high and loud causes this, then don’t play so high or so loud. Cutting back the volume, in particular will help. You don’t need to play that loud in the high register - it cuts through. Remember the 80% rule - the best sounding loud notes you play are about 80% of as hard as you can play on each note. That’s true in any register. Beyond that point you lose the breadth and richness of your sound - it descends into “noise”. Make 80% effort the loudest you play and adjust the rest of your dynamics accordingly.
