Great video. I'll add one tip. When replacing screws in plastic, anything from your truck, a kids toy or repairing electronics, place the screw into the hole and gently turn Counterclockwise. The screw will drop into the plastic and catch the original thread. Some may say it doesn't matter but after a few reinstalls you may find yourself looking for a larger screw because the threads got chewed up and enlarged the hole. Thanks again.

Did this the other day while cleaning out my throttle body and installing a TB spacer for shitz and giggles. Keep in mind that it will reset your trip counter odometers, if u use them 2 count oil change intervals, etc.. Also the computer needs to readjust since the battery was disconnected. It may stall the first time you start it afterwards. Keep up the good work and keep on truckin'.

Another one of your videos that's right on target for me. I really need to join your patreon!! 😆 I'm not sure if this was the issue but on two occasions yesterday I lost about 80% of my power accelerating from a stop. There's no noise or codes, and it seems to come and go. I think a dirty MAF sensor is my most likely culprit, and once again your video came to the rescue. Thanks!!

Thank you for the video. I have a 2012 TRD sport. Did a bunch of off roading and got the check engine + traction control. Disconnected the battery, it went off, but went back on after we did some more off roading, about 150 miles. Took it to autozone to read the code and it was the mafs. Gonna try and clean it to see if that does the trick. Thank you.

Thanks for video. I have a 3rd generation TRD Sport and the mass air flow sensor is located closer to the air filter housing box on the rear side of the plastic tube that directs the air flow to the throttle body. Everything else was exactly as you described for the second generation. I have 30k+ on my Tacoma and the dealership said it needed to be cleaned along with the throttle body and change of differential and transfer case fluids. When I took out the mass air flow sensor to clean it, it looked pristine, so not really sure it was necessary. Next up, throttle body.

I did the trany oil and diff oil myself already. Any recommendations on what I need to do at 150000? They have fuel injection/air induction cleaning. But since it is the same engine...meh I’m just rambling lol I also have a 2003 Tacoma and it’s in relatively the same spot as the 4Runner as well...just an interesting fact
