It's pretty annoying when there is a ground effect around a ritual so you can't even stand and look at what you got after killing all the monsters. They might aswell just have Sirus spawn in your hideout every time you go afk just to one-shot you; steal all the exalts from your stash and scour your best gear.

Highly recommend awakened poe trade that has a map mod check, you set which mods you want to be highlighted (with either positive sign, warning sign or danger sign) and it makes it easy to see how dangerous is a map at a glance

The amount of alch and scour I burn on maps now is depressing. They seriously need to rework this. The modifiers are so awful, especially stacked on expedition mobs

With my Exsanguinate Scion I have been skipping reflect physical and any negative block since pretty much all of my mitigation is block. Thanks for this. Mostly I have been fine running though T1 maps but every once in a while I will get instagibbed by something.

It would be neat if you did a tier list of this topic, I would like to see scary map mods ranked

Hi Ziz! I think that most of your viewers could also appreciate some tips against these scary map mods that most HC players (or even SC Players that dont like dying and look into map mods) use. Like the chain avoidance pantheon as summoner. Sextants against reflect maps. Curse Immunities against Curses. 100% ele avoidances against elemental grounds And so on

If you're playing a minion build, use the anti chain pantheon or roll over chain maps for a good time :p

Multi projectile is so nasty now. Those new arbalest mobs get all of my attention when I'm moving around packs. I have Sand Stance and they're still tearing through me.

Looking to start a HC character. I thought I heard somewhere they removed the shotgun mechanics? Does it only apply to players?

In Necropolis, a single one the deadliest mod - is a reflection of both physical as well as elemental damage. I got 100% straight one-shot from the very first mob.

Do NOT run Phoenix with increased AOE. Especially if you have a high Atlas completion. You can eventually have the entire arena covered by his explosion.

You forgot to say that awakening obj can influence some of those mods , the crit one can go up a bunch because of that as an example

Does Hexproof actually prevent the map curse effect? Viridis feels amazing for maps. Especially with dual magic rings - don't care about crits, unlucky attacks, hexproof.

I remember one unexpected mistake I made with map mods is when I gave the Eraticator +max hp and +energy shield based on max hp. I was on a low dps character and i could not for the life of me outdps it's energy shield before it goes into an invuln phase, so it would recharge all the damage back up. spent a good 20+ minutes with us not being able to kill each other before I left the map lol

i wish maps told you what boss is in them. i still remember my first map. didnt read it and it had physical reflect. took me 4 deaths to realize why i was dieing.

So i'll just run maps white now. Got it.

Pretty good list. Only thing I'd add is that "all hits ignite" can feel very dangerous for CI builds, particularly if it's a guardian/conqueror map.

Blight torch throwers / cannibals (spawn from Fire type portals I think) are one of the most dangerous mobs in the game with multiple projectiles mod on the map. They can one-shot you in red maps even with 8k life. i had 6.8k life with 4k mana using 40% mind over matter yet i went down to like 15% hp. they throw it very quickly and have a large range, it's almost impossible to avoid once you're in their range. Extremely dangerous, always avoid it, this WILL kill you on HC. have seen multiple people die on-stream to these things.

you know no regen is very easy, just bring some flasks with you with "fill up instantly at the end of the flask effect", it won't regen the life and mana but it will fill it up to full.

Basically I got from watching this is that maps are VERY scary.

Some mods put together is so deadly for my build - vulnerability + less block n armour + 389 % crit .

Me before 3.15: Oh no temp chains, they slow my movement speed so I need to flask-piano and kill quick. Me after 3.15: Oh temp chains, it increased my fortify uptime so sometimes a positive effect! (cause usually have no way to immune, so what can do is just reforge/enbrace it)

It’s insane the number of people running chain and multi proj maps which literality make enemies do 3 times the damage, not 66%. It’s going from 1 projectile to 3, and many mobs have AoE explosions from those projectiles and you can get hit by all 3 explosions. It’s 200% more damage. Chain also includes golems and totems which most people run. It’s just as important as multi Proj, easy to avoid it if you know it’s on the map and change your build for that map. But most people don’t know to do that

The maps that do extra projectiles are a dodge build nightmare for me I avoid those if I have a dodge build

I think it's less people being lazy about rerolling maps and more about scours being stuck at 2:1 this league in softcore trade.

Yeah, multiprojectiles, and the dagger throwing Drox mobs (the ones that explode on contact), with 4-5 spawning in a mob at once usually.... Yeah, try 15 exploding daggers in your face. Fun times.

Very intresting topic ! Could you please elaborate around dangerous modes for Maven's Invitations ? I was caught off guard on my first one with Multi Proj on breach inv ^^ Can someone confirm me that monsters mods don't apply to bosses ? Even in invitations ?

The only mods I avoid are reflect phys/ele, no regen and -max res... Situational reduced block/dodge depending on the build and temp chain for QOL... The rest of the mods are meh xD

i dont mean to be offensive, but how can people play for several leagues and not hover over maps and realize that's bad for my build ( dodge unlucky on dodge build / reduce block on block build ) and many more, or this tier of map with these damage mods are hard for me ?? i don't know why most people just alch and go -,-

in this leage im burn out so fast. not even a month im already don't want to play anymore... the sign is in my mind reading a book is more interesting than play poe which is rare

Hmmm. I'm thinking it would be really cool to make a website that lists how dangerous a certain map mod is. Might be tough given it's dependent on your build... but things like multi proj are pretty straightforward horrible for everyone

This is a good breakdown of what each mod does but if we take the video content and the title together what you're saying is we shouldn't run maps because mods are scary. Except for #% of phys as extra element. That's fine.

tl; dw 90% of map mods are SCARRY, so never run maps on hardcore.

Ziz, Elemental Equilibruim is one of the shittiest mods for ppl playing 1 specific ele dmg type. If I play e.g fire chieftain, the momoent i TOUCH an enemy it get +50% fire resistance :/ he gets his all resistances lowered by 20%, so that maybe is good for ele hit. but overall a shitty mod af.

I haven't died a single time, because i've avoided the entire POE 3.15 ! lol

Ok so I can run EE, totems, chilled ground, everything else is reroll.

Or just have a build powerful enough to just ignore all map mods

Please, tell Chris to remove the damn monster auras. 5 stacks auras of attack and movement speed with extra substantial damage is what makes mapping annoying.

man its like you're saying: SO MANY of those mods you just gotta straight up hard skip, there's such an insane disparity it doesnt make sense at all.. might as well just make a "85% chance to not be able to run the map at all". It would be cleaner than you just sit there and burn orbs of trans till you get one of the 3-4 mod sets you can run. just feels so dumb and arbitrarily redundant.

Why do content creators make 30 min videos about optional and skippable content yet spend 7 min breezing through and mumbling aboutTHE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE GAME??? I had to rewind multiple times and still have questions about many of the mods.

Ziz thanks for the work but: Don't do it like this. Don't just open poe affix and go through the list. PoE is already hard enough and guides like this should be easy to understand. That means, rang the dangerous affixes form: You WILL die over situational scary and easy to handle. If you go like this, half of the people will have forgotten what is dangerous when you reach the end of the list. As a general mark: if you can't add timestamps to your video, the video needs more structure.
