A couple more things: 1. As I have played through the game more, I have discovered more quests that require Dream Shards so... even more reason not to convert them. 2. I did the Scrooge quest correctly while playing so I was just relaying how other people said they may have messed up. I think it involves crafting before they ask you to. Another tip: Sometimes you get tasks to bring your friends their favorite gifts. There are always three favorite gifts for each character and they vary every day. Luckily you can look them up in the menu. Go to collection, alongside other overviews like recipes or memories there is also the character overview section. There you can see all characters that are unlocked/locked yet and their friendship level. Hover over a character to see it's favorite gifts for the day.
A tip for anyone struggling to collect mushrooms for the watering can upgrade since the spawning is broken. You can move the well to the side of the swamp that's blocked off, to fast travel over there to collect them
Oh that's a great idea! I was just manually moving items over to the area I could access. This works for flowers you have to collect later on for other things and they are not spawning on the correct side.
1. I only converted my dreamshards the one time for the quest and then completely forgot about being able to do that, and have been hoarding them. It's a good tip since they do seem to encourage you to make your shards into dreamlight. 2. idk about that quest, I did it right away, but I am curious if you can soft lock yourself here. 3. very good tip! I had no idea, that was a thing. I am planning on playing on the switch, and am used to using time travel for AC so I probably would have done it for DDV too. 4. I had no idea! I need to work on my villagers. Thank you so much for putting this video together. So many great tips! It's helped me out a lot. I hope it helps out others as well.
Another tip: If you want to level your friends from the village faster, invite them to hang out while doing an activity they love to do, they'll give you extra resources and they get extra exp from doing things like fishing, gardening or mining, you will level your villagers in no time.
If i could give start over the number piece of advice i would give is do NOT waste dream shard in crafting, it will legit soft lock you from progressing and youre at the whim of RNG.
Also, progression may seem 'free' but there's an actual order. I unlocked the savannah thing but could barely walk in there, because it was all locked. The progression order, i think, should be: Plaza > beach > forest > grove > the lion king thing > frost something
I messed up and made the rustic clock tower from the "Remembering Old Times" quest that Minnie gives you, without having all of the items in my inventory, so the game didn't count the items as being collected since they were in storage...Now I have to collect everything ALL over again! It took me a long time to get everything for this quest in the first place!
That happened to me with the Minnie Flower pots for Mickey. The game kept glitching and although Minney kept saying "let's go find some flowers in the forest" , she wouldn't come with me. So I picked the flowers and gave them to her. 👍 She said "let's go look got flowers" 🙄..... They were ALL GONE I PICKED THEM ALL!!!
For Scrooge's quest with the plant pot, I was able to use goofys crafting table and didn't need clay. I also didn't realise Scrooge had a crafting table back there haha
So I ran into two major glitches in the game. The first glitch I ran into was the Scrooge McDuck. If you use plants that are in your storage inventory to make the plant pots It will not count towards the mission. I had this happen to me and had to wait to do that mission until I found Clay in order to make more pots to finish the mission. The second big glitch I had in the game was in the Frozen world. Anna will ask you to make some stone soup. You've got to get some ingredients for her in order to make the soup. I used items from my storage to make the soup which ended up not working. At that point I thought I was stuck because I no longer had the rocks that I needed to make the soup. But if you go to Anna's world and start digging around Little rocks on the ground, you'll be able to get more of the rocks you need to make the rock soup. The only problem I have now is I have a rock soup that I can't get rid of and is permanently stuck in my inventory. I rather have it stuck in my inventory though than not be able to get Anna and the rest of the frozen characters. I hope those tips help anyone out who's having the same problems I did.
@@charityetzkorn4710 My best advice for you would be to unlock the Glade of Trust area for 5000 dreamlight. Once you are in that area just start digging around until you get enough clay to make more pots. You'll find Clay by just digging around in the dirt area in the Glade of Trust. Hope that is helpful. 😁
Just in case anyone runs into this: During the quest The Spirits of Nature stick to all three objectives. Even if you have Basil and Oregano already in your inventory. I was thinking that it’d be fine if I made the dish before harvesting the two Herbs and now it won’t let me turn in the two meals I made because I have to “Cook Stone Soup”. However, the Craggy Rocks are no longer spawning so I can make another dish. 🙃
I did this as well! I've reported it and the team said "We received similar reports from other players as well. Don't worry, our team is looking into this."
@@jessiepearl9986 Hi Jessie! I think I’ve found a temporary fix for this issue! If you hit the little stones on the ground with your shovel in Anna and Elsa’s realm you should collect Craggy Rocks! I was able to successfully get the three I needed to make the Stone Soup.
Yeeesssss! I got stuck on scrooge- I crafted one, went and searched for more flowers and crafted the second. Scrooge would never recognize that I had them. I also got stuck on Wall-E, collected the parts, game had to close for an error and when i came back, I did not have the part and nothing left to collect. Loved the game enough to reset, but glad to see my founders pack items were still available to me. Appreciate the shared info from you and your community!
Ps another way to upgrade friendship level is to hang out with them and harvest your carrots or whatever you need to harvest and that upgrade them fast to.
Another couple tips; 1. Place Maui's home in the water close enough to the beach that the interactable Scrooge sign is on the actual sand. If you place it too far out, you won't be able to interact with it to finish it, and you might not be able to 'grab' it so you can move and fix it (some people have reported luck zooming out as far as possible in the build menu and then trying, but that doesn't seem to work for everyone). 2. The plants in the second Cave puzzle take a looooong time (crops planted outside their preferred biomes grow super slowly). Especially the tomato. So don't worry (and almost restart your game like I did :P ).

I picked the first 2 crops early and then waited for the tomato to grow. Now the second gate in Atlantis won't open and I don't have the option to plant anymore crops. Do I have to restart the whole game?
Someone said that you get a quest from Merlin to give him something blue, and that they accidentally gave him a thing from one of the founders packs. Just something to be aware of i guess. That those items arent "locked" in any way
I guess it's good news if it means we can gift our founder's pack stuff to friends when multiplayer becomes a thing, but oof. I was lucky that Scrooge had a blue chair in his shop so I bought that and gave it to Merlin.
This has been so helpful! I’m currently stuck in limbo with Scrooge McDuck’s flowerpot quest, so I know the feeling. I would add to the quests tip that you should probably follow the quest in order of what it tells you. I crafted ahead & created the flower pots before talking to Scrooge first & I think that was part of my problem as well.
Yup that’s what happened to me so I had to wait to unlock the biome where you can dig up clay to make pots, also I did it at the crafting table by goofy’s house and it worked. I definitely make sure to follow the quest now 😅
I am stuck eith this also, thought it was me being blonde and messing up so I'm glad to see I'm not the only one. So infuriating though, how can I find the clay the quickest. Help!!! 😑
Hang out with your villagers!!! They will follow you and earn friendship points while you do mundane tasks like fishing, mining, gardening etc and they will sometimes double your output.
I have ran into a few glitches in the game as well. I had to start a new game due 2 glitches that would not let me move on to other quests. So when you do that you lose your pack that you bought for the game and also star path stops working. Still love the game. I have reported all the glitches I have had and I know they will one day fix the glitches.
One thing ive noticed (still early in the game) when fishing at the end of the Moana quest - at first it acts as if the fishing rod is glitching and will always reel back in if you dont hit the actual circle - this made me think it was glitching, but after nailing it right in the centre the rod stayed. This may just have been something I overlooked and nobody else could have dealt with it ... but thought id share anyway lol!!!
Those of us in Australia have had to time shift to get around a couple of glitches in the game. The main one for me is that none of the villagers would follow me when I asked them to hang out ... they just walked away. Time shifting to central USA time fixed it. I hope they fix the fault soon as I want my clock back to local time.
I restarted after the shard quest for merlin. I don't even remember what I did with them. I probally combined them. Thankfully I wasn't to far in. So it helped. I've been keeping almost everything. I have a ton of chests. I keep 50 of all fruits and veggies. Sell the rest. I move my house to my garden patches which I have by the well and gooffys stand. So much more efficient
this quest with the shards is it just one time or al lot more. And when it was exactly? In the time to get the first well run? Or after. Because Ì have mo ahrds anymore but I am Level 22 now and the first well I have allready done. Maybe I dont need them anymore?
@@dianafuchs3054 it was pretty early on I believe. I'm lvl 23 or 24 now. It made me use like 40 shards to do something for merlin. I have like 10 or so now after unlocking another area and working on the vines

ALWAYS PICK UP YOUR WOOD today I was playing and it was a NIGHTMARE to find hardwood cause I didn't have the third area unlocked yet and it took forever to find ALSO always have your bonus villagers with you for fishing/mining it not only increases their friendship but also gives you extra items and if you can't find anymore seaweed just fish in the ocean like normal with your fishing task villager and the seaweed will pop up that way I also found that at times my game will crash on my switch if I try to open menus too fast but it doesn't happen too often I just have to be careful and make sure my saves are up to date
@@Dracattack RIGHT? and like I feel like I'm cheating having to move the portal to get stuff across the river but some quests it's the ONLY way I can finish it cause a couple of flowers spawned there instead also I just noticed that remi's world might be broken like I haven't tested it yet but if your able to take stuff back from that world specifically you'll be able to have infinite crops that you can sell idk if it let's you or not I haven't tested but like that's so broken cause I could literally pick up 99 fish and sell it over and over
I moved all of the fruit plants together also. Using every strategy from AC, shops close by, chests/crafting table/stove outside for quick access and moved decorations so i can run to specific places easier
Fishing drove me NUTS!!!!!! I thought you had to rapid-click like in Pokémon. Then I thought you had to click & hold until the big white ring entered the green ring. You just click. Click once when a fish bites, then click once when the white ring enters the green ring.
I got stuck by the Scrooge McDuck quest because I already had the flowers and made the items before I’d completed the gathering step. You need to gather NEW flowers first to trigger the correct step in the quest. So I had the items made, but it didn’t register them. I had to unlock the biome with clay and then make brand new pots, which took a while
Lol. 3rd tip best. Got a lock on a questitem, because I did it out of order. Now I have a rock soup I can't throw away, can't sell and it sits forever in my pocket.
I really wish I had seen this video earlier. 😭 I've definitely been converting my dream shards and now I'm worried. I'll make sure to stop immediately. Lol

Thank you for mentioning the clay pot issue. I am pretty far into the game and still can’t make clay pots because I can’t get my axe or maybe shovel upgraded to mine for clay.
I used Scrooge mcduck’s cafting bench and I could only craft one pot,now I need to wait to get clay,also I crafted all the items to give Wall-e for his garden but can’t give them to him
Make sure you have all of the items (including the seeds he wants) in your pockets. I got stuck on WALL-E for a while because I didn't realize I had used the seeds and didn't actually have them to give to WALL-E
Yeah, I can't progress the quest to find Donald duck because I used up my dreamshards elsewhere. I'm kinda just doing mindless tasks so I can open a new biome just to complete that task... They shouldn't have pushed that I can make dreamlight power with them so much /: also, figuring out cooking is so weirdly difficult. I can't complete the Mickey missing Minnie picnic quest because idk how to make the second thing he asked and he gave me no hints on how to go about making it.
I was stuck on this as well, if it's the "crudite" recipe you're confused with, it's just chopped up veggies, so put any vegetables in the pot such as carrots!
I'm playing the game pass version on xbox and love the game. but, I'm disappointed with the real time, I always can play in the dark. so I thought I would it buy on switch because I can set the time on daytime and play with my xbox save game. thank you, that you warning, that's not possible, so you saved my money. it's sad, that this not works, I mean, I wouldn't time travel like in Animal crossing, I only would play on daytime, always playing in dark sucks me since release day, because all the beauty of this game get a little bit lost in the dark.
This is so relatable. I work midnights and have to sleep during the day hours. The game starts getting darker by 5pm and it's so frustrating to never see the bright sunlight hours of the game. This is also kind of a problem because everything in the dark is harder to see and the lights you place don't seem to make much of a difference. For people who are colorblind, that is a lot of the same shade of purple on the screen to try to navigate.
I removed all the trees, but then wondered why I wasn't finding any sticks. So had to place some back. But much better with all the other rubbish removed.
If you do or did time travel…. If you time traveled to a far date I’m sorry the only fix right now is to restart the game. Now if you only time traveled a day apart luckily you can help your self, on the switch you can find the furthest time zone, you should only go as far as that day, it will allow you to still use online features. At least until they fix it. I’m stuck a day after at a random time zone time…. I can’t go back because nothing works. My online features still work because somewhere it’s 4 o clock lol idk just don’t time travel tho hahaha xD hopefully they fix it but you know cozy grove is similar in this way. You can’t go back in time you can only wait. Hopefully they fix it but odds are they might not, that isn’t there focus right now.
I have already maxed out my characters level to 40 and all the characters in my villages besides ariel and ursula. But for some reason 2 days ago it stopped letting me sign into the online save thing on my PC. But I can get into it on my switch. So werid.
Yup! Do not reset your date and time. I reset my Switch's time to current time after time travelling in ACNH, and it broke my crops and foraging in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Now, I can't harvest or interact with the crops I had growing. None of my foraging plants are harvestable anymore and the ones I had harvested before reseting my time are not respawning.
Did you find any fix for that? I did the same thing and now after few hours still nothing is growing or spawning. I am not able to do anything at the moment as I can‘t progress…
Anyone doing with great power gate 2 mission do not plant the seeds out of order or incorrectly as you cannot plant them a second time seed 1 is carrot 2 is wheat and 3 is tomato hope this helps
You can acually i made that mistake with not planting the carrot by accident but you can use the shouvel and make a new hole and then plant it it worked for me
Haha yep I converted my shards into dreamlight. Wasn't even thinking about it. Immediately tried to quit and load an earlier save but it had already autosaved
I can’t get fruit or herbs to spawn in the plaza. There are also two plants beside my house that will not harvest even after watering. Anyone help with this?
I'm having issues with my cross saying they're dry when they're supposed to be fully grown and I've had to log out and log back in to get them to no longer be glitched. I haven't time traveled
I'm at "The Shy Little Robot" quest and when I talked to Mickey his ball appeared behind the couches in the corner and I can't get to it, also been fishing for 30 minutes now and can't find the boot! Any help or suggestions?!? ☹️
I feel like the quests are also bugged. I got a special fish needed for a quest before I even got to that part of the quest. And this is a fish that spawns only at a certain weather type. So now I got 2 finished quest items that I can’t really do anything with at the moment.
For Scrooge mcduck’s flower pots quest… I did use his table and picked extra flowers etc and it just didn’t log that I made and placed them and now just keeps telling me to craft them and I have and can’t get any clay 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Just saw this after I crafted my Dream Shards just to open another world just to get clay for Scoorge. Now I have to get 6 Dream Shards for Merlin 🤦🏾♀️. Lesson Learned.
Has anyone gotten stuck on the very first Mickey quest of cooking? I made the mistake and cooked the fruit salad and crackers in HIS house and not MINE. Now the quest will not progress at all and I can’t interact with Mickey in any other way. Any advice on how to work through this? 😭
Started playing 3 days ago on NS... I wish I saw the warning about the dream shards sooner as I wasted them already crafting out of curiosity.🤦♀Am contemplating about starting over as I'm not too far into the game.
