Also worth checking the gear selector rods on the side of the gearbox , if they're loose it'll be like stirring porridge when you're trying to change gear . New bushes should cure the problem .

Swarf looks fine for a van that age

Nice one and thanks for showing the SAE lettering next to the filler hole, a lot of folks get confused especially when they own a manual vehicle but have to put automatic trans fluid in it. If your gears aren’t nice and smooth, defo check out the bushings at both ends of the shifting rods. When I fitted new bushings to mine, with a good smear of silicone grease it totally transformed the gear changes Also, pop the cover off of the selector box (where the rods meet the bottom of the gear stick) to check it’s packed with grease. Nice and easy to check as there’s a black plastic access cover

The oil that came out May have been the wrong oil but hey! it looked clean with Good viscosity. Good show mate.

Hi Max as per usual very good video and a pleasure to watch. I noticed your headlights looking on the yellow side dull looking. Ever thought about changing them for the new style Halogen bulbs today. You can purchase them from eBay but just be careful you don’t get scammed for snide ones should you attempt to purchase some and make sure they are M.O.T passable. Your van would look nice fitted along the front with some Aux Beam lights. Liam the terrible & Neil & Emma Urban van life have them fitted on their vans. I couldn’t help but notice you were pushing the socket wrench away from you. This was also noticed in one of your other videos named: Learning To Weld To Save My Van From The Scrap Yard - At video timing of 18.20. You were trying to remove your wheel but at the same time pushing the bar away from you nearby eroded sharp metal. Again, today seen in your recent video you were pushing the socket wrench away from you. I’m not trying to tell you how to suck eggs but thought sharing is caring when considering safety for you. Future reference think about pulling the socket wrench towards you but making sure your face is not in the way. You will also gain more leverage when pulling it towards you and I’m sure your dad may agree with me as prevention is key. Hope you find this helpful Steve from Manchester.

Yeah that drain plug swarf is nothing to worry about. Can't beat running lights on a van, especially on a big box like you have. And lots better these days with led. Fabulous video Max, Keep Loving the Lifestyle

Yes that was definitely ATF. 😂 The swarf on the drain plug is to be expected with the mileage. Nothing to worry about as long as the gearbox works reasonably well.

Defo wrong oil , that's normal on the magnetic, for the vehicle of that age 👍 my t1 310d gears change with almost no effort .
