This is the 2022 Kia Carens Reliability review.
Kia India has launched the All-New Kia Carens 2022 MPV in India. Lanched as an Hyundai Alcazar rival , Kia Carens will get three engine options: a 1.5-litre petrol engine making 115hp , a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine making 140hp and a 1.5-litre diesel engine making 115hp. Gearbox options include a 6-Speed manual as standard, a 6-Speed Torque Converter automatic for the diesel and a 7-Speed DCT for the turbo petrol variant.
The Kia Carens is available in the Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury , and Luxury Plus variants with six ( 6) and seven (7 ) seat layouts.

Owner review here. I own 1.4 DCT petrol Version of this car. Its been 2 months, 4000km and engine is reliable and powerful. Low noise, smooth shifting and delivers the push you need when overtaking on highways. So far I am getting near about 16kmpl mileage (even with AC). I don’t know where you formed your opinion from. The car was merely launched when you made this video. Maybe you should try giving people genuine advice after driving the car actually and doing some research.

I guess the Seltos and creta with the same engine gearbox combos have been around for long. You're an owner, that's why you got your sentiments hurt. And I'm sorry for that but the truth has to be spoken.

Very informative video 👍🏼 Bro i am confused between XUV 700 and carens. Booked both. I really liked XUV700 but the issue is the boot space. I want to use 6 seats most of the times. With luggage, i have to fold atleast one seat of XUV. On the other hand carens is more practical in terms of space. I have booked both in Petrol engine. My question is, if i go for carens, will i feel it underpowered with 5-6 people and luggage? I know XUV's engine is undoubtedly more powerful. Just want to know about carens' 1.4 turbo performance for my requirement.

I guess Carens would be fine with the turbo petrol. But for additional adrenaline, Xuv700 is the one to go.

You'll be using 6 seats most of the time. Its better to go for the 1.4L Turbo Petrol. No doubt XUV's 2L mStallion with 200PS is in a different league but still, the 140PS Turbo Petrol Carens will be more than enough even with 6 passengers on board+ their luggage. If there are occupants in the 3rd row of 7OO, they won't be comfortable nor there will be left any bootspace. In Carens they can sit with utmost comfort and enough bootspace left, too. It's just that in the long haul, Carens' smaller 1.4L will feel just a bit more stressed than XUV's 2L when carrying 6/7.

DCT and petrol turbo is always a 50-50 have seen a lot of issues reported in Team-BHP by creta and seltos owners otherwise all other engines diesel engine is reliable with MT gearbox

I think Scross is the best bet. Moreover, the bargain margin is quite a bit on the Scross, that makes the deal that much sweeter.

Got it, No DCT I have booked Prestige Plus Disel Manual, Now my question is, will it feel under powered with all 7 occupants and luggage ? If yes, then Should I go for 1.4 Turbo petrol coz I seek some driving pleasure along with comfort ? Next Question, "Prestige Plus" misses KIA CONNECT So is it advisable to upgrade to LUXURY Variant inorder to get some futuristic features or PRESTIGE PLUS will be a value for money proposition Your Views pls 🙏🏻

Variant to buy is as per your feature requirements which is a personal perspective. I guess diesel is also fine performance wise, albeit not as good as the turbo petrol. But as it is, a the torque curve of a turbo.diesel is always a joy in itself. Moreover, diesel being heavier, would be slightly more stable at higher speeds. You should test drive both variants before choosing. If either variant is not available at the TD, you can check the same engine in a Seltos or a comparable Hyundai to get the feel of the engine and decide accordingly. My pick would be diesel manual for long term, turbo petrol if I need the car only for 5-6 years.

I've uploaded my Ownership review of the Seltos and i can tell you Kia Connect is not Feature... It's simply a gimmick and certainly not something you'll need to make a decision over because you'll never need it.

@@rejeeshnv453 I am shocked to see he is telling1.0 litre and 1.4 litre turbo petrol engines unreliable. You can do a hell lot of research on these engines. Ask any venue ,certa, i20 owners about this there is hardly any complain at all!!!! This man is just telling crap things. Hyundai and kia 2.0 litre and 2.4 litre t-gdi enginnes abroad does have misfiring issues but that is nothing to do with turbos.

@@CarMasteronly Ironically that's with the naturally aspirated petrol engines that too mostly just on American countries. The GDi would be a better option than the CRDi as it produces almost as much torque and more power with a smaller displacement and is easier to live with than the turbo diesel option. Also, dry type DCT has no known issues related with reliability, so don't assume things just because you like the Diesel MT option.

@@CarMasteronly Didn't say the dry type DCT gearbox has no issues, just saying that dry type DCT isn't necessarily unreliable, and that the turbo petrol option is a more hassle free and better engine than the turbo diesel for exactly the same price. Btw, diesel is less responsive and has more issues compared to the petrol engine option.

After watching this I have decided to book the Hyundai Alcazar Diesel 7 seater automatic as I want a feature packed SUV with best mileage. I will use it as a 5 seater with the last 2 rows down always. I will put my camping stuffs there.

@@krishnakumaara6161 Kia Carens was very ugly, no chrome grille in front. Engine is same but no sunroof. What Hyundai has done is that in order to make sure Creta's sales are not affected, they have launched Alcazar only in higher trims. Rather they made Kia Carens have the lower trims. The top model of Carens lack features compared to Alcazar. Also Carens has only 16 inch wheel. Hyundai always has the premium edge. They made Kia the cheaper option. The digital cluster of Alcazar is also amazing, interior looks very premium. Carens is a MPV while Alcazar is a SUV.

First time I saw illogical review and reviewer appears to be confused in all the angels. First you have to get clear clarity. Seltos and Creta engine used herein also as Hyundai is sister company and Kia Seltos engine has no issues.
