I made it’s freaking several times… Also accidentally started a syphon on the reactor during a water change. Needless to say, I’ve found more stability and less issues just using ESV 2 part, PH is comparable as well. Great video, wish I would have seen it sooner.
It's the small things like this that can cause drastic effects, Never overlook the small things, they can be just as dangerous as anything else in this hobby. Lessons learned before the days of RU-vid 😂 If we had access to all the info back then that we have today could you imagine. But it's been an amazing journey
Seems like you are dumping 1/2 bottle of the kalk into the reactor and top up every 3-4 months? Does the kalk lose its potency for being inside water for so long and also come into contact with air through the outlet tubing? Is it better to just put a few spoon once a week instead? Does the reactor stir up the slurry enough for some of them to go inside the tank?
Something else to be aware of if your kalk hose is hanging in your sump and you turn the pump off and the sump water comes up over the kalk hose it can form a siphon and suck some Saturated kalk water into the sump . I guess it depends on where you have the reactor. Mine sits flush with the floor
I have the same setup as you but I can't get my PH above about 7.5 even when dosing Kalkwasser to the point of raising my ALK to 10.5. Any thoughts about what could be wrong? I dose 15 liters of Kalk a day or more in my 300 gallon system.
I have had the Avest kalk reactor for 4 years and I have been through 3 motors and now I have a tiny leak on the bottom where it's glued. I called them and they told me to slap some glue on the inside. I can't fit my hand all the way to the bottom. I have to try and make a flush cut and order a new bottom. I can't recommend this prod
