A whole-foods, plant-dominant diet, with very high consumption of vegetables, fruits and legumes, and weight loss, has helped me reduce blood pressure from 140/85 to 118/73 without medicine. The majority of the benefit was achieved in three months.
@auricauric8150
Data is Data. Congratulations on bringing your caloric intake down and gradually over time. I know many of your biomarkers have improved with this intervention alone. I do wonder what effect this is having on your ft3/ft4 ratio, free Testosterone, BMD and Lean Mass. I know you work out and there is probably a sweet spot for calories which most of us are commfortably over. My highest respect. Your caloric intake was something i did in college, now as a salary man, it's hard with stress and the food environment I live in.
@PaulBeauchemin
Interesting, my BP was 104/70 for most of my life and my weight was stable that entire span. Over the past 2 years my weight is down a couple of pounds but my BF dropped from 15% to 10% and my BP is averaging 98/67. I’m 71
@oibal60
I'm a healthy 62yr old male. BP 118/81, RHR 62, BMI 24.5.
@mime454
Dang I'm 30 and my blood pressure is too high for my age. I was thinking anything under 120/80 was fine. I need to get to work.
@mightbeanybody
I am a 76yo athlete, my BP is 107/67.
@HarryJensen-kr4qz
I'm going to be 71 in May 2024. Just checked, 116/71 rhr 64 bpm. After a ride on the "10 speed" it goes WAY up momentarily, js.
@barasra8847
After taking BP tablets for years with no effect, I have added Vitamin K2 once in a day, yoga, mild exercises, calorie restriction diet, now it started showing normal numbers. Body weight is stuck in180 lbs with 5.8" height.
@pariodeusex
its also important to point out that the main reason the studies show blood pressure increases by age is due to the western diet, and given most people in these studies eat this diet its why they end up with this result, however for studies done on populations that do not eat any processed food ever such as rural populations in east asia (particularly china) there is no increase in blood pressure with age and in some studies it even goes down with age! Not only is the high sodium in the western diet to blame but also the lack of magnesium due to food processing which acts as a vasodilator among other things.
@curtmaxfield
I have low blood pressure, every several heartbeats my heart rate will drop very low, the machines at the ER will scream, like the last time when they came with a crash cart, and the new dr was surprised I was still alert and responsive, I think he was spooked, another DR had to explain everything to the new DR lol.
@barrie888
Great results,tks for the clear presentation
@ccamire
Great results and indeed BP is a great biomarker to work on.
@oibal60
Thanks for this.
@debstayblessed9549
Thanks for the continued great videos! Wondering if the older subjects were taking meds for BP and how many years. I heard / read to induce lower BP with meds in "elderly " had adverse effect. My bp on waking is usually 90/70 . Age 71. Again appreciate your work. ( no meds ever)
@andrewtaylor9799
Thanks, I was really hoping you would start looking at cardiovascular health. Good data. I am extremely interested since cardiovascular disease is a leading cause of death and aging.
@nozroc7312
Dr. Micheal Greger has a nutrition website that has a playlist on blood pressure you may find interesting.
@bhut1571
As you near geezer-land (I'm 77) might I suggest that you keep track of your "pulse BP"ie., Sys-Dios looking for > 40 and < 53 as well as do both arms looking for a diff such as < 8 mm of Hg. That Diostolic # being too low means the ticker muscle may be getting short-changed; I'm 116 / 63 (no meds) so am approacing that.
@StingSi369
Any Hematological parameters?
@larsnystrom6698
A number of years back I tried to find research telling me which one of the different blood preassures was most significant. I didn't find anything relevant about that.
@surfreadjumpsleep
when you measure do you elevate the arm that is getting measured? Do you swap sides?
