I decided to pay respects to you and your efforts by watching everything from vlog one; and to know that Nate has lost his accent over the years just makes me smile, such a drawl at times. I really appreciate the two of you and what you provide; Sunday's in the van are just as great. Thank you both. Such a charmed life.
I’m binging on you two from the beginning and while I love them all to this point, this one is my favorite so far! The photography is so awesome and I totally love and get your joy at touching all the ancient stuff. And dang, you’re up your videography and editing skills like mad already!
I'm so glad you seem to be loving Siem Reap. Your enthusiasm is so infectious. We are travelling to SR and Laos next year and your vlogs have been so helpful as well as confirming we seem to have made a good choice. Thanks so much for that
I lived in Siem Reap for almost a year but never did go inside the Temples. It was very expensive when I lived there and it was also extremely hot. But I had several picnics by the moat and enjoyed the views. It's great to see what it looks like inside. Wonderful videos. Thank you
Came across your channel by chance. Lovely! I am not into traveling, but enjoy what others post! These vlogs would be priceless for you one day..........😊
I found your channel because my son loves y'all and now I am hooked. I just started your channel from day 1 and I have loved all of it so far.. Thank you for taking videos of all of the amazing food and sunsets. We can't travel much due to my husband working a lot, so I feel like I am on vacation with y'all I can't wait to watch every video
You’ve hit your stride. I started watching your most recent vlogs then decided to start at the beginning. You guys are so great together and I really love your videos. I’m originally from Wpg,MB and lived in MN, OK, CA and now NC. I’m continuing to watch…
The "fertility thing" you saw at the end of the video is called a lingam. It is a very symbolic representation of lord Shiva and are found all over in Shiva temples. It is a phallic symbol representing creation...there are 3 layers of the lingam representing the creation, preservation and destruction. Because in Hinduism we believe God is one and that all forms equal 1. It is very complex and is hard to fully grasp the concept of Hinduism even for practicing Hindus...it is the oldest "way of life" in the world and there are many different angles and representations to look at the eternal truth. Angkor wat was originally a hindu temple...back in the ancient times Hinduism dominated all of southeast Asia, not just India. Southeast Asias Hindu past influenced much of the region today and you can see many clues in that area
Hi, I'm planning my trip to Siem Reap at the moment and was just wondering what time roughly would you say you started to do the big loop? Also do you think it'll still be like that if I go straight from the sun rise? Thankssss
The tree at Ta som surrounding the temple. It is like taken out of lord of the ring. Well most likely the oppsite. :D Dont touch that firtilyt thing. LOL! :D
You need to take a pic of the board with the history description & put it in your video. This way we can pause it to read what you can’t remember 🤣 or on your website. FYI I’m watching this on my TV & can’t get to the comments. I’m having to use my phone & i see there’s a link for the history. 🤪
+Kara and Nate Thanks you two, I thought as much thinking of going there during my Thai trip! Hope everything is going ok in Kenya, looking forward to the Vlogs, be lucky & stay safe!
Elizabeth Casson If you earn a status like Gold at Finnair, you need to get the amount of miles needed in 12 months to keep it. Not sure about hotels. Differ in many airlines but that’s the most common ons.
how much did you pay the tuktuk driver? and why only 4 temples in big loop? is there a limitation on number of temples the tuktuk driver will take you?
Probably because it gets really hot, you don't really want to go past noon. You can hire a tuktuk for how every long you want, just depends on how much money you're willing to pay.
Brahma comes out of Lord Vishnu’s navel and he created the cosmos- the planets and the skies. Brahma is not really worshiped but his consort Saraswati is the Goddess of knowledge. As an Indian Hindu- although I don’t live in India- I never knew there such interesting ancient places connected to Hinduism. Thanks for this.
Dear Visitors of Angkor Wat, pls DON´T touch the temples and statues. Our guide told us, NOT to do. The reason is, that by touching the surface changes and this can cause an unstability through the years. You can see the differences when you watch the stones (multiple touched stones are darker and seems to be a little shiny). So I am confused K and N, who told you to do. I am a little disappointed, because we all should take care of our relicts that they will the there also in the next hundreds of years :-(
I think it has been only in the last few years that you can’t touch anything. Some friends went about ten years ago and they were allowed to touch everything, plus they could climb into the temples which I believe is not allowed at the present time.
Please never climb on a heritage site again even if there aren't signs telling you not to. It's just common sense. Not gonna lie, it kind of pissed me off a bit seeing that.
I decided to watch you from the beginning and these videos at Angkor Wat angered me. Just because you are able to touch something doesn't mean you should run around touching and crawling on everything. Such disrespect for this place from you guys. Making me rethink actually watching the rest of your things when you found this to be such a joke. I know my opinion doesn't matter to you or whether this one person stops watching because of it but damn these make me so angry just watching you.
