Chili is the last thing on the hotdog. Everything else goes under the chili. Proper hotdog etiquette. Unless you add slaw. That goes over top the chili.

Yep water but instead of water 💧, use tomato juice it makes it taste a lot more better.

Holy smokes! Just made this. I put my own little twist on the spices and used Dijon instead of regular mustard! Used Hawaiian roles with a butter and garlic sauce toasted on the buns. Tillman shredded cheese and purple onions on top. One of the better meals I have made.

I just made this with Turkey due to my husband having a red meat allergy. I just used the Better than bouillon chicken base and everything else the same. He really misses all the wonderful things like chili and I had to try this recipe because I’m a Southern girl! Amazing so don’t be afraid to try it!! ❤️🥰

Everyone thinks it's weird when I boil hotdog chili and mash it with a potato masher. It looks like pink slime at first, but once that water cooks off, it is the finest crumbling chili.

I got some of that chili on stove now. The best ever Tobias. Seriously delicious. No salt even needed. ❤ Ps: I thought that special bouillon was a bit pricy at $6. I used the old fashioned beef cubes. It was fine

Thank you Tobias it turned out great! I made a smaller batch with 1 Lb beef and tweaked my water ratio a bit with 1/2 cup of beef stock that I needed to either use or throw out and it made for a nice enhancement. Thanks again your recipe is superb.

OMG! My BFF a Caucasian decided she wanted to make chili dogs. That was the first time I'd ever seen anyone add water to their hamburger meat. I said girl you doing it ALL wrong she said trust me. When I tell you those were the best chili dogs So years later I add water to my hamburger and it does make it tender. ❤

Excellent cooking tutorial. You answered questions I wanted to ask in the interim of explaining the purpose of the ingredients used (if that makes sense). For example the brown sugar needed in spite of your choice to use (no sugar added ketchup)🤌🏽👌🏽!!! Thanks a bunch 😊✌🏽

Awesome recipe!! The only thing I would have done differently would be to use finely shredded cheese and finely chopped diced red onion and finally top it off with chives or green onion. I can't wait to try this!

My grandpa made his hot dog & frito pie chili like this! It is sooo good 🤗 I make a large pot and then freeze some to give to our daughter (she has 3 boys). She says her friends always ask for the recipe. Your right it just elevates that dog! 🤣

This is almost how we make our sloppy joes as well.. I remember growing up in Anne Arundel county and our sloppy joe days in grade school being my favorite.. I tried to recreate that taste some time ago, and it was this exact same way with a bit more brown sugar

Decided to make this chili for a family get together. Didn't realize how hot this recipe is, you said its "neutral" but all I can taste is heat. Save youself some time: go buy manwich off the shelf and thrown cayenne pepper in it, you got this recipe.
