Pretty sure this guy just thought the widow mine outranged his overseers sight, which honestly is an understandable mistake. As zerg player myself, I sometimes mix up 11 and 5, like 11 is a bigger number than 5 but it's made up of 2 smaller numbers, wild stuff.

most ridiculous thing is, at the time Wingent tapped out, he was actually WINNING. The terran had only ONE mining base remaining, and it was about to run out. As long as the zerg kept killing buildings, EVEN if he was losing tons of units in the process, he was going to win. Fucking ridiculous...

This one bewilders me quite a bit... The zerg clearly knows about overseers as he built some of them. Why did he stop building overseers after realizing the terran was building widow mines exclusively? I'm so confused by the thought process...

I thought this would be some zerg player who just needed to watch PiG's tutorial on dealing with widow mines with detection I didn't even consider that they wouldn't make any detection, period.

Imagine if Wingent randomly start making lurkers and just accidentally kill most of mines with splash damage by attacking thors?

I feel like I have a perfect strategy for this Zerg against this Terran. Static Defense! You just build spore crawlers everywhere! Forget overseers. Widow mines can't attack buildings and as such can't destroy your detection! If you feel extra careful you can even build sunken colonies (or whatever they are called) to have something not only immune to widow mine but can also kill them! The only thing the Terran player can do against it is to write to Harstem how Zerg static defense is IMBA because it is not only immune to widow mines, can detect and kill them, but also MOVE! How do you counter indestructible and mobile units?!

I love how stupid Wingent was at the start. Wingent: "What race are you?" Erejum: "Random." Wingent: "That's not a race, rude." Also Wingent: Has flying unit that he could have used to scout and SEE what race his opponent was in that same amount of time.

Widowmines are definitely a strong unit. I wouldn't look to this game as an example, but rather Clem vs Serral. Clem abuses zerg's early to mid game with them by placing along the edge of zerg's creep for a few reasons: 1. prevent creep spread, 2. protect the parade push of terran units streaming in while his units are in small groups since zerg can easily counterattack and get picks with a group of zerglings, and 3. destroys lings and banes as one of zerg's primary defensive units before zerg has had a chance to ramp up to a substantial number of hydralisks. If you look at a Clem vs Serral game, Clem 100% has an overabundance of widowmines which I might use as evidence for their slight imbalance against zerg.

Hamster, battlecruisers and cyclones can also freely move while shooting. You can also make banshees shoot while moving with micro, its one of the challenges in that micro training game blizzard created years ago.

Widow mines OP while they can be fucking seen when burrowed, meanwhile the fucking Infestor doesn't even get seen while it's moving underground and then it kills you with your own units... oh and then the fucking vipers magically pull giant capital ships to their death. Oh and the GG lords are making siege tanks worthless so the Vipers don't even need to bother blinding them, mines too, and destroying your entire army from very far away very slowly leading you to your demise. How the fuck can Zergs not see how overpowered their spellcasters are? And they complain about mines!? What do you just expect to win every single game you play? I once had a game like this in archon mode ! It was a PvT, we were doing amazing and decided to BM a bit. Eventually mines started to flood our bases. I knew I built two robo, so we said lets make observers, but we could not find them ! We eventually died of laugh searching multiple minutes for the robobays and surrendered. Probably the best lose of my life.

Nothing like a zerg falling apart to mass widow mines! My favorite playstyle, when opponent allows me to get away with it. :D Except I go Cyclone Mine BC. This Terran actually managed to get away with just mines over 300 MMR higher than my Terran is, very funny stuff.
