Do people ever do student away rotations for the purpose of just traveling around for short periods of time even if the programs you visit aren’t necessarily at the top of your list for residency? Assuming you’re willing to incur the additional cost of doing aways
Great question Jarred! We have definitely seen people use the opportunity of an away to explore new cities, though you may not have a ton of free time outside of the hopsital depending on what your rotation is. In our experience most applicants tend to prioritize cost and increasing their chance for a successful match when choosing aways, but there is no one-size-fits-all answer and it is okay to have your own priorities when making these decisions!
