One of the best interviews so far 👍🏾 As a Virgin Island man living in NY is was a much different path a person like me took to be a mechanic. Even though we as twice as far as Jamaica to the US we are an American island so we get the same opportunities people in the states get which are a lot of trade schools that you don’t have to pay for which garuntee you a job at the dealer of your choosing. This is route I took (I’m a VW man) I worked at the dealer while building my own car at home which got me a job at a big shop which teach me the business before I opened my own shop. After 25 yrs I retired as one of the legends in the vw game world wide representing for the states and my island. That being said everything he’s said is great advice. And he is right. We don’t hide our builds here. I’ve been in the game long before social media and we still manage to know what everyone’s building because we visit each others shops. Another great advice is being yourself. If you have the drive people will recognize your contribution to the community. You should be trying to inspire each other. Without it you can’t grow. I use to tell people, no one can achieve perfection but they can damn sure get close.

She treated us all like family.. when we would come to his house in DC.. she would kiss us and tell us she loved us . SHE WAS OUR FAMILY... But when great granddaddy died... He left her a lot of money to come back to Jamaica and build the family house... I've not seen her since 1992... And she was 87 years old.. she lived with my great-grandmother and great grandfather until died... 😢.. she may not be alive anymore... But one day I will come to Jamaica... I will find where she is buried, and I will leave a red rose.. she loved roses .... Jamaican racing is the best ....
