Moving on from an awesome few days railfanning Marias Pass, my stop before the end of the trip in May of 2019 was Sandpoint, Idaho. The main attraction there was the long bridge over Lake Pend Oreille. I stopped at a few spots west during the afternoon on Sunday (5/26) and east during the morning on Memorial Day Monday (5/27). Unfortunately, a few shots were dogged by the windy conditions (especially on Sunday afternoon), so please pardon. I could have mitigated some of it with an external mic w/ a fur attachment, but I didn't have one at the time. with a There were also a very nice assortment of foreign power, especially on the UP Spokane Sub (not as many trains as the BNSF Kootenai River Sub, but the power was amazing!), ranging from CN, CP, KCS, Ferromex, NS and Leasing companies CEFX & CREX.
Anyway, I had an awesome time during my first railfanning in western US! I keep saying this to myself that I should railfan more out west, if time permits.
