First of, thank you for the comment! And as for Sand Patch, this is a route that I feel that I should go with someone rather than by myself, and so far I've never had the opportunity to do so.
Way groovy! I love this location and its one of my favorites, I am hoping one day to spend a summer vacation within the area to relax, eat and watch the trains. Neat job.
17:52 The helpers on the tail of NS 13G are not attached to 13G, I’m guessing that the train didn’t need them to make it after the crested the hill. Also, Great Video, Love your Content
Thank you! My main camera is the Sony FDR-AX700 camcorder, which I recently heard it was discontinued :( and I do use a Sony FDR-AX53 camcorder as a B-cam facing the other direction (whether I decide to use it or not is due to factors like how windy the day is - because if I have the B-cam on one side of the tracks and I'm on the other side, I don't want to have anything blowing over, which have happened to me before).
Awesome video, Allen! I still think you are the best railroad video guy on RU-vid, between all the different camera angles you do, the information you put in the video, the transitions, everything is fantastic!
Are train required to blast their horns at least once every time they pass through a station? I live by an NS station and can hear the horn every time a train comes through, notice the same thing in the first 8 minutes or you video. Really Good Video btw
First of, thanks for the comment! And second, yes, trains do blast their horns when passing the station platform in Amsterdam NY (in Amtrak's case, arriving and departing the station).
Magnificent catches of the train coming by and pass, i like it 5 stars, keep up the great work, my friend, i subscribed your channel, Greetings from Portugal to the USA.
Much appreciated for the comment, man! Actually before the trip I Googled "Kootenai River Sub" or "Flathead Tunnel" (I can't remember) and there was a picture from this spot along with several others from the more remote part of the line (the section between Libby and Whitefish and traverses the Flathead Tunnel). The opportunity came when I heard the dispatcher is setting up a meet between the intermodal (first train of this video) and the KCS led tanker east of where I am, and that was a total surprise to me!
