Ive been slowly using less addons. Seems that the more addons we use in msfs, the more problems we have. CTDs out of nowhere. Which is extremely frustrating when Ive spent 30-40 min planning a flight in Simbrief, opening up in navigraph, launching msfs, importing the simbrief f-plan, then finally getting to takeoff, only to have a CTD within a minute or two.
Yes, I agree that running 16 addons like this Ytuber would want to do is just nuts and a recipe for disaster. “Realism” as far as total simulation of an airline flight is a “nice to have”, but even he says he’d rarely do it. But you have a couple of other problems in your operations, first SimBrief should allow you to plan a flight VERY fast, not 30-40 minutes! SimBrief is literally using REAL WORLD flight plans based on current weather and real flights. So all you really need do is make sure to pick an appropriate aircraft profile, departure/destination, and go. If you want to fill in some weights/fuel/altitudes, you can do that, but that’s another couple minutes. All the heavy lifting is done, and you can complete things in the aircraft. Next, and MORE importantly, if all you’re doing is SimBrief and Navigraph and getting CTD, you’ve got a system problem friend. Navigraph is incredibly stable and its connection to the sim is my favorite by far, much better than the old sim connect stuff.
@@after_midnight9592 …yes, I have addon linker. In fact because of using it I was able to better identify problem programs, like GSX for example. I isolated addons for better than a week to determine why I started having CTDs etc. The only exception to isolating them was that I always loaded simbrief, navigraph, and most often was in the fenix a320. I found more than one addon that was causing conflict, but GSX was a huge part of that. Why that was I dont know, but unfortunately had to delete it and lose out on what I paid for it. My overall point though was that it was this “testing” that made me more aware that addons can and do add potential complications to my sim experience. So Im using minimal addons as of now.
@@DoctorShocktor ….No, sorry for the misunderstanding. I was meaning that by the time I do the full cold/dark, sync the fenix a320 EFB, setup the MCDU, FMGS etc it is 30 min worth of time “invested” into my hobby time. So its disappointing that moments after takeoff it crashes. Lol Yes, simbrief is a quick part of that setup process. I go through setup and startup etc in “real time”, so its a minimum of 20-30 minutes even if Im not following the checklist line for line.
Thanks for the video, do you know if FStarter works with all airplanes inc the Fenix, can't find any info regarding that, just wondering if FStarter can be used to resume flight after ctd? Thanks in advance :)
