The big difference , The Forester is a great 4WD vehicule and the engine and exhaust sound are music for the ears

I believe the main reason for the Boxer rumble is the unequal length headers. Also, that forester definitely has an aftermarket exhaust which amplifies it. I've been driving Subarus for the last 9 years, and love the intoxicating sound.

I wanna see them facing the Nissan Stagea. That would be very interesting ;)

Fun fact:the Forester shares the same platform as the Impreza, including the STI. Which means an STI suspension will bolt up right under it and turn it into a monster.

I've owned my Sti Forester for 5 years now, turbo back exhaust, no cats, dyno tuned, 202kw (270hp) at wheels with 390nm. Dropped 40mm on Tein coilovers with Prodrive wheels. Is such a beast, sounds unreal and appreciating in value.

The under steer on the forester is insane tho... That back also swings wrecklessly

I personally prefer the Forester STi over the Lancer Evo...

The Evo wagon eats the RS4 wagon for breakfast. There's a video of a Swedish guy testing them back to back. That thing is bonkers fast.

Good review, thanks. I've had an FSTI 5 years and you pretty much nailed what it's like to own and drive. Super sound, super performance, super practical and higher gearing in gears 4-6 make it more highway friendly than the Impreza it is based on. And nothing like it exists in Japan these days. Latest 'hot' sti wagon from Subaru? A 1.6l CVT with red stickers. I cry. Until I turn the key on the Forester. Cheers.

I’ve replaced my e46 330i touring with an 06 forester xt. Must say the noise and the turbo lag definitely make it fun to drive everyday. Need to save up for an FSTI next :)

EVO wagons are really cool mix in a GTX35 and 700hp and you are on to a winner!

Taillights are red, hids are blue, i'd never take you over my Subaru.

You could have included the other Mitsubishi wagon, which is the Legnum VR-4. Bigger engine, same drivetrain and power output as these ones. Plus you can get it for much cheaper!

Finally something with some decent cars in it. I do love a good Evo wagon I'm not going to lie

I love my 07 forester xt, swapped it to an STI short block, incredible back country car. plenty of power, with the bonus of having the sleeper status.

Makes me miss my 280whp Forester XT I owned! Besides the fuel economy, it was the best of everything, all bundled up in a sleeper shell.

You should've reviewed the Gf8 STi, literally the best looking wagon out there.

I've owned my Evo wagon for 5 years, it's dope. I'm not sure why it's not more popular? It's an Evo without a wing. Which is the only way to have an Evo since 1999.

Being a Forester owner, I would say it is a great buy. I only have the 2.5X, which is the baseline model and it is still just as fun. They are light, roomy, and who doesn't love that boxer sound?

Glad you made this video. I have a modded fxt and I absolutely love it. Mine isn't quite at 350 but I think that would be a great range.

Nice video.I think Forester is better because its suspension is softer for daily driving and its AWD system allow to have nice weekend offroading too :)

Had a Evo 9 wagon for 4 years here in New Zealand ,Best car i have ever had or driven ,reluctantly had to sell it 2 years ago ,still miss it ,not sure how much it costs to insure in the UK but here in NZ it only cost me $700 a year fully comp

COULD YOU DO THE IMPREZA STI (SUBARU) PLEASE!!!!!

My brother has a 2008 Subaru Forester XT and just recently tuned it up to around 250 hp I believe. It is stupid quick and so much fun, we don't get Forester STI's here in North America so the XT is the closest you'll be able to get. The XT would basically be the WRX equivalent to the Forester STI.

Can confirm everything about the forester STi, absolutely awesome car. Though i drive the first model of it, a 2000 SF5 STi straight from japan.

for around 15k pounds I'd get an rs4 or e60 m5

such a good car i brought one 2001 sf gt turbo - $6400 = spent money on suspension steering and brakes - wrx turbo with a 3 inch exhaust 150 mph shopping wagon.

You should also look at the JDM Subaru Legacy wagon. The BP5 chassis with the turbo engine. That is a proper sleeper.

The worst part of EVO is sound, I mean, there is no sound signature whatsoever. You can tell Subaru is going somewhere even if you can't see it (no other car in the world sound like proper Subaru), same goes to BMW V10, Viper, Mazda Rotor, Toyota 2jz, Honda DOHC VTEC, but Evo... Totally meh sound, uninspiring and not memorable at all. Otherwise great car but gotta love that STI.

i love my forester ive fitted a td04 bigger intercooler and king springs with a 2inch lift totaly changed the driveability next steps are a set of sti pinks and fuel pump upgrade and a remap oh and 16x225x70 insa turbo dakars its gonna be so much fun in a muddy field

Fuji heavy industries does know how to make reliable stuff, and now they have learnt some management skills to make more profit: just sell crap, the quicker it breaks down, the faster you can sell a new car or charge huge money for an overhaul. I mean, even Toyota is doing this, even ****ing Toyota, right? They are omitting little features that didn't increase weight, nor consumption, little features that had no cons but made the engine reliable. One thing is the holes under the 3rd piston ring, they are easy to drill, and serve a purpose: oil that is scraped from the cylinder wall has a place to go, those holes. Now, even VAG, BMW, Toyota, etc. are drilling less and smaller holes, which gives a cost saving of 0.20$; the bloody result is that small holes get clogged up quicker and your engine starts using oil. Some bastards from Nissan or Jaguar don't drill these holes at all. Subaru has some strange fetish going on with plastics inside the FB20 engine block, the only purpose of those pieces of plastic is to let less coolant reach the cylinder. It's full of things like this. ^^same story with gearboxes and electronics; worst thing of all: it's designed in such a way that it's expensive to repair, because you need special equipment and specially made OEM-parts.

I'm 17 and still have my first car which is a 2005 Forester x and I love it. It isn't quick at all but it is smooth and comfy to drive and very reliable. Has over 360000kms on the clock and hasn't missed a beat

I'm looking for a manual is300 right now. It will be so much fun to drive once i get one.
