I read the comments and I feel like everyone is wearing Layton but it’s because it comes from the fragrance community. The average person isn’t going around spending and smelling a $150 fragrance, which is why I love watching these videos because I know what I’m wearing is something special and unique 😂
Al Haramain is a Bangladeshi company based in the UAE. .. Who would've ever thought that a Bangladeshi perfumery could become one of the best budget perfume brand in the world. .. on the other hand it's not surprising either since Bangladesh is pretty known for it's fashion industry.
So glad to finally see this one getting love! Super amazing under the radar fragrance and super cheap! I have compared side by side. Layton is ever so slightly fruitier and detour is more creamy. I've found detour to actually last longer than Layton.
I just ordered it today. I've only been in the fragrance game for a little over a year. I'm already at over 60 different ones and i'm trying to minimize that. I feel like some of these better clothes aren't gonna be this cheap forever. At first I thought all of it was just hype.
Purchased Detour based on Layton being a highly rated fragrance. Popped myself down to Selfridge's today for a sample of Layton. My nose honestly cannot tell them apart, has been a few hrs now & both still neck & neck on performance & scent. For the price this is an absolute no brainer. Shame as I'm not in love with the fragrance as spicy ain't my thang. Sure I will love in time
Just got my bottle of Detour Noir today & feeling similar about not being over the top about it. All I did was 2 sprays on my neck & I feel like I have a slight headache already. Might have to send it back as I guess DN/Layton isn't my thing
@@stansmith5610 It's usually when a combo of RU-vidrs start hyping it. I could be wrong but he did a few mentions of Halloween Man X before, then this fall everyone started hyping it and it almost sold out.
Just got my bottle of this in tonight too, they must have changed the atomizer recently bro because mine is much different than that one you got there. The one on mine is pressurized for sure and it has a massive spray on it. Great review though! And love this fragrance!
Cap is bad but I do like the bottle design, and it fits perfectly in the palm of your hand. I can set the spray to come out in one direction and always point in the right direction. The juice....is absolutely delicious, clone or not!!!! Sorry...love the opening too. I will buy it again, even if it comes in a milk carton. Thank you, Ash, as always! I have Layton and I love it. I also have a clone of Layton from Alexandria which is just as great and long lasting. I’m on a business trip right now and i have the clone (Royal Equestrian) because its smaller, easy to pack, bottle plus if i lose it it won’t be as big a hit on my wallet. I travel with clones and keep my originals at home.
I love Royal Equestrian and ditched my Layton when I found it. The PDM lasted about 4 hours and only projected for 1. That said RE is still quite expensive as a clone (not that I mind that) with this one being worth a punt at about 5 times less per ml.
Traveling with clones helps your pocket just in case you lose the originalas you said, but I think it's wiser to decant the sample you love and travel with them instead. It does what the clone is supposed to do plus you smell the original all the time.
You're going to love it bottle is garbage but the scent is so worth it. *tip, I'd recommend going without the cap as it's just the biggest annoyance. I hope they change up the bottle to be much nicer like the amber oud line.
Hey Ash, great job! I got this and i would say that for this price tag this is fine. It has not the same depth , it is fresher but in the air it is quite similar. I own layton as well and i save it for more special occasions.
Thank you for a review Ash😀👍 One addition only, i wouldn't call Al Haramain a straight clone house. Yes, they have quite a bit clones, but at the same time they have much wider range of original frags and oils. 🙂

Thank you a hundred times over!! i bought detour and it smells like my signature scent i had in the 90's, it was Venezia Uomo by Laura Biagotti, discontinued now for about 20 years. I gave up finding a real replacement other than Boss bottled wich is now so reformulated that it's lost it's spark. I actually have Venezia Uomo but the botlle is ancient and it turned a bit musky but still has the original notes in the background. Al Haramain Detour Noir especially on the drydown is how i remembered Venezia Uomo when i was young. My girl asked me if i saw a ghost after i smelled it:) i said nahh i just stumbled on my favorite discontinued fragrance from the 90's. Dude i can't thank you enough!! i saw a couple of reviews but yours made me bother trying it out, 2 more bottles coming my way:)

I bought a new bottle of Layton a few months ago, it's the reformulated version with 82% alc. and the batch code (2021321) tells me it was made in January 2022. Now I've had some decants of Layton (2019 & 2020 batches) that smelled better than Detour Noir, although Detour Noir comes very close. But compared to my new bottle of Layton, Detour Noir smells WAY better. My new Layton smells artificial, and has bad performance. Honestly be very careful about buying the new 82% alc. Layton batches, I don't know any other 82% batches apart from mine, but mine is absolutely awful. Don't buy the January 2022 Layton batch (2021321) guys, Detour Noir is like 10% the price and smells BETTER, and much closer to old Layton batches...
Now that it has macerated for a few months, scent has probably changed to be closer to what you had experienced before? Are you still disliking your 2022 Layton bottle or has it gotten better over time?
I know this video is a year old but i literally just got my bottle in and man....the 1st impression and intial blast was like Heaven in a bottle!!! Man this stuff smells absolutely amazing!! Can't wait to shower 🚿 and hit the streets and see how the performance is!
Well I believe in your review it looks great but because your review on layton I watched month ago I have a bottle of the layton I am beginner in fragrances world I have 6 bottles and all of them was blind buy after watching your reviews on Carlisle, layton, percival, oud for greatness, side effect and cdnim limited edition. I wish clone houses would do more PDM fragrances. Pegasus Exclusif is my favorite from PDM, but there are no clones of it as far as I am aware. Even Parfums Vintage only has Vellichor which is a clone of PDM Layton.

Wearing it now. The name of the fragrance has been rubbed off the bottle when it was transit. Regardless, the scent is amazing. Pretty rich for a cheapie.
I kinda sorta kept this one secret for well over a year. Had to get it overseas, but it was something like 20 euros. Then I saw it pop up on FBuy recently and was like....uh oh..I hope Ash doesn't make a v....😔🤣 Anyway, I have the old version in the loopy black box (darker juice), but I'm glad to hear that the new one seems to smell the same. Don't know why Al Haramain messed up the notes so bad. I suppose it was THAT far under the radar. 😆 Ps, Haramain already has a Pegasus clone in Royale Stallion. Those Portfolio frags are a decent step above.
I love this channel and the reviews are exceptional. That said you could knock the time in half if you didn’t say the same thing over and over and just get to the point. I’m not hating at all, it’s just sometimes you just want to get to it and be done.
Just picked up a bottle from Fragrancebuy. The presentation is as bad as I've seen. The bottle, cap, box...everything is absolutely fugly. I sold my bottle of Layton last year and I've missed it since...saw this video, found a bottle and paid $37.95 CDN...sprayed it on...and it's bye bye Layton...this is an absolute steal of a deal. There's a small difference in the first few seconds of the opening but after there's ZERO difference to my nose after about 30 seconds. Thanks for this video...saved me lots of $$$

Shipment just came in yesterday. Sprayed on today 4 sprays. Banging!!! Scent trail is just right. My wife asked me to wear it more often. In contrast I also bout Dior homme intense and wore that Tuesday. My wife didn’t say anything. But I like that one as well. Anyway thanks again ash just ordered another bottle it’s only 30 bucks! Detour noir is one of the best clones, hands down. Imo. Of all time. Imo it's 95%+ to Layton. The longevity is very close to PDM and projection is the same!!! Phenomenal, clone of all time. I've done a side by side many times and even then, it's extremely hard to tell the difference, if even possible.
I have Layton, its a great Fragrance. I also have Dua's Royal Chariot Attar their clone of it. Its very very close to the original. But longer lasting.
I read from somebody who was in contact with the support-service of Al Haramain that they discontinued the scent and is no more produced :/ Was really happy to hear from affordable alternative for layton...

You have giving me great advise via your videos , my s=brother would waste my creed adventus and you did a video talking about a match that was identical with al haramain l’aventure and i got it from him and i tested it before giving it him i spray creed on my right hand and l’aventure on the left and i had a couple of my friend smell it and they thought it was the same fragrance from the opening until a few hours later, I gave it to him at Christmas and he ended up buying a 2 more bottle of this fragrance, and even me that i been wearing creed adventus from the start of the fragrance that 13 plus years and I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference, so i will follow your advise on the al harámain de tour noir as im tired of using my brand name fragrances and then run out and having to replace them. Its gets expensive . So i will order detour noir
I've just got a real Layton and this is bang on for a cheapie smells the same obviously the real one is better quality but the scent is so so close now I can have both 😊
I find this a bit weird because I bought it a month ago and mine it definitely has a almond heliotrope opening with a musky sandalwood drydown. I said it smelled like a lighter more floral seminalis by orto parisi. I certainly don't get apple or lavender with cardamom. I bought it from Al haramain UK.
I just got a bottle through Amazon and same. It might be the best atomizer in my collection lol. Its really amazing. One spray I can cover from one side of my neck across the back and to the other side.
I get more compliments and enjoy frags that cost 1/10th the price of Layton. I honestly don’t get the hype. But if you like that Vicks vapor rub vibe more power to you. I’ll take any PDM fragrance over Layton any day. Still love the videos, keep it going
It's 100% reformulated. Oil concentration dropped by 20% and a certain accord they couldn't use anymore swapped to something similar smelling by result. It's still nice and can get to 8h after maceration , but for that price it's a scam
Mine came today wow I actually can't believe the magic in this bottle, yes it's tacky and cheap looking but wow the scent is 😍 I'm going too test tomorrow at work I'll update 👍

@@nathanieltomlinson1148 I'm wondering if that means Rouge smells like PDM Pegasus, wish I'd bought that too now as they had both for £30 but I didn't see it. Al Haramain do have Royal Stallion for a Pegasus clone though it is expensive, almost equivalent to Pegasus on some sites, especially when considering the price per 'ml' as Pegasus is 125ml & Royal Stallion is 95ml.
@@lndiscalling haha. I saw that deal also and had a moment of thinking, "How do you return to the site?", then I remembered I have Craze by Armaf and just accepted my lack of observation. Notino had sold out of Noir as I was about to buy, so I sort of hurriedly bought a bottle... even though I have a bottle of Layton and hardly wear it. I confuse myself sometimes.
@@nathanieltomlinson1148 Yes Notino said it's had four Noir in stock but as soon as I added it out was out of stock! 😱 Luckily Al Haramain UK website has loads in stock and they're only five minutes down the road from me - I'll buy Rouge next month to see what is about as it's only £17 on its own and I might have to pop in there some day as I think they have a customer section.
