That spot where you placed the camera is perfect! Nice to see Airbus SOP’s and not those old Boeing type procedures where the FO it’s not allowed to start the engines and taxi the airplane when you have a CM2 tiller... (when Mexicana received their first batch of Airbuses not only the Captains didn’t let the FO start the engines and taxi, they where trying to convince Airbus to get the FO tiller removed, thankfully Airbus didn’t listen to those grumpy old school ignorant “Captains”...), thanks JP for such a nice video like always!
Thank you very much and glad you enjoy this angle. I agree, its a really well placed location that gives one of the best views of as much of what's going on! Thanks again👍
Thought the same. Hand flown up to FL100, very nice to see and there wasn't any task saturation. He looked smooth and well practiced too on handling, maybe a French West procedure?
@@leonard8217 what? He's right, on takeoff config and after being in climb detent all you have to do is hit auto pilot and it does it itself. The point he was making is that although they couldve done that they instead decided to hand fly it longer.
I love the A350, and I hope to fly on one soon, but waiting for now. I did enjoy listening to and watching these pilots as they go over everything. The cockpit is amazing on this A350. Awesome takeoff that sounds amazing. This camera position is perfect because you see the equipment and you see the outside. The view outside is amazing and beautiful as well. Awesome video; I love it.
Me too mate, it shows how ultra modern and sophisticated the A350's cockpit is. If you could compare it to....say, a 777-300 or even an A330 or A340 cockpit, you could see how far we've come in aircraft technology.
My favourite passenger aircraft that's currently in the skies, she's absolutely beautiful!! How quiet are those RR XWB engines....even full power on take off!!! Fantastic video mate, well done!!
It's often quiet in FLEX but when it s going on TOGA in particular condition, we can hear the monstrous roaring from these RR's engine. Their engines sounds are ones of my favorites with the GE-90 🤷🏾♂️
Just Planes team, thank you so much for sharing a video with a clear, constant and uncut view of the instruments! It is very hard to follow crew actions and instrument values when the video cuts to multiple views outside of the flight deck, so this video is much appreciated!
Awesome how quickly the engine note changes when he sets climb thrust. Such big engines but the modern technology is amazingly efficient and effective.
I sometimes think “yeah I’ll hand fly this thing all the way to cruise” then quickly feel bad for increasing my PM’s workload and flip on the auto. (If you’re had flying he has to do all the radios, FMS, and heading changes altitude selector etc. Instead of you handling the fms etc while he talks to atc)
@@Valantir But it gives him something to do. Light traffic I will hand fly for a bit but if you’re doing one of the departures out of Amsterdam or Frankfurt or Zurich you better get that autopilot on as quickly as possible.
This is the only video I've seen where we were able to see the nose wheel tiller being used so well. It's usually hidden by the pilot's body. Great video!
You're welcome! But someone else just posted they didn't like the 1 view so we have to do a bit of everything... sometimes show many views, other times show 1 view, this way we try to please everyone ;)
I agree about the A350, she's absolutely stunning!! The 787 isn't as nice to look at but Boeing have totally nailed it on the Dreamliner's wing design...... it's a work of art.
Because they can by ICAO rules. Everyone has to be able to speak English but doesn't mean they have to speak it all the time. If both ATC and the pilots native language is one that is permitted by ATC they can speak that as radio conversations can be done quicker instead of pilots unsure what certain words are
Happy landings !
I have flowing in and out of HKG a few times in the lasgt 6 months. Pre-Covid my memory was always pretty short taxiing from the 2 runways to the terminal area. Now we seem to taxi forever and it fells like we are going around in squares. I assume this is because they are overhauling a runway now that the third runway is open. It is very frunstrating compared to the old quick ones. I must say the ‘new’ walkway bridge to the narrow bodied departure gates is amazing. It seems like you are either on an endless set of esculators up or down. The views are amazing from the top of the bridge of the airport.
Yes it is actually. Depending where you are and what you are communicating you can communicate in one of a few ICAO approved languages and french is one of them
She's an absolute stunner, my favourite passenger aircraft that's currently in the skies..... by a country mile. Boeing currently have no answer to the A350, I'm not sure that the 777-X will match it as it's only an upgrade of an old aircraft.... the A350 is a new design.
@@gooner72 yes totally agree with you, I mean to be fair to Boeing though they did have the 787 Dreamliner which is also a stunner and has similar aspects, but ultimately airbus has the upper hand
Everyone has to be able to speak English but there are some official languages that can be spoken under ICAO rules. It means local pilots don't spend tie clogging up the radio because they can't remember certain words in English
Air Traffic Control in french speaking countries have always communicated with French speaking pilots in French.. same was the case with Chinese, Spanish etc... although some of those countries have switched over to English in recent years...
Can you imagine going back and telling the Wright Brothers that in a hundred years there’ll be enormous aircraft with a flight deck this sophisticated? I understand going back in time would probably be a much greater feat and more impressive to them though lol
As a Frenchman and European citizen, I am SO PROUD that we, in France, together with our european friends, are designing, engineering and building in France the best airplanes in the world. There’s no place in the world in which I feel safer than in an European made Airbus plane. Boeing is finished, with their planes crashing every f*cking years and sadly taking the life of so many people. When you think that those poor souls would still be alive if only the company they flawn with would have choosen airbus over boeing… If it’s oparated with a boeing plane, I choose another company, and I don’t mind paying extra if it’s to fly in a well made, well designed airplane that stays in the air rather then terribly crashing on the floor, or loosing a big holl into the fuselage… Airbus ❤🇪🇺🇫🇷❤️ RIP Boeing, and most importantly RIP all those poor souls that lost their life because Boeing choosed economical benefits over safety 😢🕊️
Beautiful aircraft and cockpit. The thrust levers are kinda small and look like thrust levers for a video game. Kinda funny given the size and power of those engines.
Calling out the FMA modes. “Man flex 59” (thrust flex mode with assumed temp) - “SRS” (speed reference system, vertical mode for takeoff to hold the takeoff speed) - “Runway”, (lateral mode for holding runway centreline, onyx available if the LLZ is transmitting). Then he says “auto thrust blue” which is the armed thrust mode. Armed modes are displayed in blue. Hope that helps.
It is always a great pleasure to stay ... thanks to you ! in contact with this " World " above ! and thus maintain past and / or current connections ( at another level ... no doubt ) ! Good continuation !!!!! France [ LFMU LFDJ LFBO LFMP LFMK ] Good Flights !!
Good video. This is one of few YT videos that I have seen were the FO as PF actually taxies the aircraft! I see so many videos from different where only the Captain does this even if he is not flying the aircraft.
On many Boeing planes it actually only can be done by the captain as they don't even have a steering device for the right seat. And on most airlines it is company policy that the captain does all the taxiing.
@@MrSchwabentier But why is it that company policy even on Airbus planes requires the Captain to taxi? I understand, from some reading I have done, that docking stations in airports (where they have) are oriented to be read from the Captain's side only; but otherwise why the Captain?
@@RicciWork I honestly don't know, probably tradition. Because the argument that it is a task that comes with great responsibility and should therefore only be done by the captain would apply to everything else as well, so that wouldn't really make sense. As I said, epecially on older planes there was no steering at the right seat, and a few decades ago captains were in fact doing all the flying. So it might well be just a tradition at some airlines.
I think it goes back to the days when the captain did everything, and if the FO behaved, he might get to move a switch or two. It would be nice if the FO could do that here in the US. Both our 777 and 787 have tillers on the FO side, but it’s still in our FOM that the captain will taxi on the ground. No logic to this at all.
Why they climb so fast? The speed incrase to 180 Knots first(normal), after that, the speed go to 160 knots. I think this was very dangerous. Its was a hard manual climb,
As someone that was in pilot training many years ago, and went another direction, its left me with an unanswered curiosity about airbus layout and design. Wonder why the side stick is mounted so low? Has always just seemed unusually low to me
🙋 On The Nose Steering On Take Off Does The Nose Gear ⚙️ Get Locked 🔒 In Place While Barreling Down The Runway Or Does It Just Stay In A Straight Line Because Of The Force On The Rudders Keeping It On A Straight Line On The Runway.🤷♂️
So if theve an outside camera thry could he put on all planes so pilots could see engines and spot a furl leak or other isdues I know crews busy hut even domrone who was more walker than me eith autism etc could watch a monitor that's what annoys people about us neurodivergents that we see tiniest detail in things it's justbprople I can't do eith
Our films show 8 cameras however in this case we know many people like to focus no 1 angle so on occasion we will post a video that just shows the 1 angle so we can try to please everyone :) however if you download our complete films they show all the angles.
I honestly thought, when the first officer leaned to his left side, I thought he was taking the handbrake off 😆 (we drive on the left in the UK) Nice 'drive' around the car park!
