AWESOME! FIRST TIME REACTION - Gary Numan - My Name Is Ruin 

The song is set in a post apocalyptic world. A family, trying to survive are taken prisoner by a religious cult called "The Righteous " They murder his wife,leave him for dead and take his daughter. When he recovers he sets out to find his daughter, along the way he becomes savage and brutal, killing anyone he thinks had something to do with taking his daughter. This earns him the name "Ruin" When he eventually finds his daughter he's not the man he used to be,and blames his daughter for what happened. Or something along those lines anyhoos.😅 I seen numan on this tour and the tour from the me,I disconnect from you video you did.Jeeeeez I'm old 😅 great video guys,epic song 👍

A 40 plus year career in rock is phenomenal . His latest work is never stale as it does not rest on the past work.

Gary Numan's triumphal resurgence is one of the greatest things I've seen in music in the last 30 years. It just about brings a tear of joy to my eye.

Saw him last month opening for Ministry, "My Name is Ruin" was much harder and more intense than the studio version. He's been kind of rearranging his older songs to be even more industrial in the live shows. I have some video of that show on my channel.

Love love love Gary Numan and Persia. They are fantastic musicians/artists. Just so heartwarming to see Gary singing with his wee girl.

That guitar riff is just filthy...so good...sparse but intensely threatening. The way Persia is evoking the muslim call to prayer type vocal is absolutely haunting...beautiful, emotionally rich but also melodically dark. I have been getting into Gary's music a lot over the last 3 years...there's a large catalog to go through...it's been really fun and rewarding.

Numan is amazing, doing his best work ever. He’s the only 80s musician doing better work now than in his “heyday” do more from this era!

Gary is amazing.

I was fortunate to see him perform on this tour at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston.... A little room of MAYBE 2500 people. Same stage setup and sound.... Persia was away for school the week before but this being a Friday show, She and her Mom and Sisters met up with the tour and I was able to see this LIVE!!! BEST show ever and I've seen at LEAST 200 live concerts...

This is Persia, the youngest of his 3 daughters. I had the chance to met him & his wife Gemma, backstage, in Toronto. He's so kind and down to earth. I love his music. My favorite album is Splinter.

Persia does far more than add to the vocals and sound, this song is constructed and and at least partially by this young girl with a white cross at her age on stage and crushing it (even *if* any “filters were used for anything, Gary can do that because Gary likely INVENTED THEM or is close friends with who did! It’s like how Jim Davis cannot possibly draw Garfield “Wrong”, because HE Created Garfield! Numan put raw heart into machines for the first time… and happens to be an incredible dad to an incredible Persia, and part of what makes this song and all the official and live vids So Special to me is cuz my Father tried to murder at age 3 for trying to challenge this WW2 Marine Bet wailing on my momma and a sister, and I yelled “YOUDON’T DO THAT!” , snarling at Him and ready to destroy him as a 3 year old boy at our first meeting. Then He charged and tried to strangle me to death. I blacked out. I don’t remember after that. And that was just visit 1. Point is seeing Gary and Persia together, their voices, the extremely intense lyrics (my favorite: “MY Name is Ruin/my Name is EVIL!!!”. Just knowing any dad out there loves there kids as much as Gary Numan does… it makes this middle age man weep AND repair. Stellar cast! May I sign it? -Stradlemonkey

Here's a frightening thought. Gary Numan seems about 30 years ahead of us. And that track was delicious. 😅

This and Pure are probably my favourite Numan tracks and both are absolutely phenomenal, so dark with industrial heaviness but beautiful too. Deftones do something similar and they are a stunning band too. A collaboration between Trent Reznor, Gary Numan and Deftones would be something off the scale...

Long time Numan fan....since 79...Love his music, however, I think he should stick to music and leave politics out of it.
