That's an awesome project! It's like a Kyosho Mad Van but Tamiya and madder! I'm loving modularity of the arms and the creative thinking, I think it'll be an awesome driving machine, good long wheelbase and a nice, wide stance!

@@JoevsRc Hi Joe, I thought it was about time to turn this dream into a reality. As the G6-01 can navigate 40 degree inclines, I thought I would make a 4WD/4WS version of my own but make it a lot wider 😆😖🙂

@@MarkBryanRC Thank You McMark, there will be a few videos of this being built on my channel but not any feature length episodes as I've got other projects to do. I think the vinyl work will take the longest because of the length of the body. As you well know, I do like a project to keep the brain cells working and this project is one of them 😂😖😆
GLAD you're still at this project! Do you realise you've just SOLVED a dilemma that the Tamiya Forum has been debating for over a year......?? HOW to get hex wheels on the front of a DT-02/03!!! Many conversions are either expensive or rubbish. You've sorted it! G6-01 C-Hubs and spindles on the DT-02 lower arms, with an adjustable upper arm! You might become famous for this! 😊😂
@@CarmineRC If you watch the video again, you will see that this is an entirely different project. The Capri is RWD and this project will be 4WD and 4WS. I will delete the middle axle as planned as I now have all of the parts ready for completion 👍 I had to have one specific part 3D printed for me as I couldn't find anyone to make the part for me in aluminium or equivalent. As for hex wheels up front on a DT-02/03, you need CW-01 uprights and a 5mm hex for the wheel to slide onto. I'm not on any Tamiya forums or Facebook for that matter. I have too many projects just itching to get out of my single brain cell so that I can make room for more projects in the future 🤣😆😖
Hey Big Brother!😂 just love how you’re taking a G6-01 chassis and carefully assess and measure the components to make the right wheelbase. Just love how you have the engineering nouse to use DT arms, turn them the switch them front to rear to give you the required 295mm wheelbase setting. Pure genius ! This is an interesting conversion. Looking foward for more. I thought about the clear chassis and coloured gears, too. But as long as I drain my gears in grease, this wouldn't look so nice.
@@RCBirds Hi Dirk, I think the Pink Stickerbomb vinyl will draw away the attention of the clear chassis and coloured cogs. I'm hoping to lower the bodyshell as much as possible onto the chassis similar to the Kyosho Mad Van 👍

When I got my daughter a Konghead, I wanted one so bad (still do) and I almost bought that same chassis and gears, I thought it was cool, I missed out on those cause they are hard to find.. The use of longer A-arms is boarder line evil genius... or just genius, your pick... LOL
@@UncleBobsRC Hi Bob, I've got loads of spare parts from various other RC kits and thought I would put them to good use to build a one-of-a-kind custom built Van. As the G6-01 can navigate 60 Degree inclines in standard form, I thought I would try and make a wider 4WD/4WS version. I think the bright pink Stickerbomb vinyl will definitely make it stand out on its own 👍 This idea happened after I built the Ford Capri and thought, why not? If it doesn't work, I'll take them off but they actually look really bad-ass. I will film parts of this build as It slowly comes together along with the other builds 🤘✌️🇺🇲

Looking forward to seeing how this one progresses dude,and loving the sticker bomb! Yep,the weather has turned well and truly shite .....so its cool to have some inside projects to work on. Taylor is already making excuses about being 'too cold' to get out for some tesco time trials in October .......ive told him that he hasnt got a choice,its happening whether he likes it or not. We need to join forces to drag him and moo moo off their sofa in October mate. I think the thought of me getting above him on the leader board should be enough to get him out.....as he HATES me beating him at anything ! I am working on getting a Sunday penciled in dude.....looking forward to it!😊👍 👍 👍
