All the years and years of people telling publishers "You guys never take risks" "You guys only bet on stuff that is safe that don't try to do anything new". Now people saying it are starting to feel the same way after being burned again and again off people's dream ideas on kickstarter and are much less likely to want to back something now. Just been interesting to see the shift of the mindsets change after dealing with loss that publishers likely dealt with as well. So many games that after years of working scrapped that we might never even have heard about.

So that horror game does one thing well. Putting familiar items, in a familiar world, making it familiar yet uncanny.

There were also other 2 projects who i chekced out personally but you scrolled past them Slaughter No Hit looks nice and well made. ZERO Sievert also seems like a fun Stalker Escape From Tarkov combination.

There was a visual novel TL project on Kickstarter called "Menuet of Epistula". They had a good presentation and a serious breakdown on what they'll use the money for. I believe the project got funded and was successful, though at this point it was essentially pre-sale. Like, 500 ppl want an English version of the visual novel and each would feel okay paying 40 bucks. That's 20000 bucks going directly towards paying pro voice actors, recording, mixing, editing, packaging, shipping, cause the ppl advertising the project were legit.

I was casually watching the list through your video until you stopped at Isotope: Ash. Oh boy, those who have sweared by the Megaman Battle Network franchise (or at least by their battle chip system) are starved for games similar to this one, something Crapcom is unable to deliver (MMBN legacy collection when?). There's One Step From Eden, but that's just one game that's more rogue-lite than RPG. Hopefully the kickstarter is a success and they deliver the game successfully.

An hour in primark you got out lucky D: That overlap game is more starbound, if you wanted an actual comparison, even has the same tile styles and various map styling/lighting.

Now I see why I back so few games on Kickstarter... Even if you ignore the large risk that the games will never be completed, there is so much junk out there that it's almost a waste of time searching for the few good ones.

Videos like these show me some of the flaws as well as some of the really good ideas that other Game Devs have when it comes to making their game. I hope they take what they can from these reviews and improve on their projects! Hopefully other Game Devs are paying attention as well so we can all avoid the pain of having a bad game pitch or worse... Someone getting backed and not even finishing the game! I'm taking notes and hopefully my first demo/project presentation follows through!

To any aspiring devs out there, here's a pro-tip: If you're looking to make a new game and that new game has zombie's in it and you're not actually playing the zombie, especially if we're talking an FPS, don't. Straight up just don't. There's a growing amount of gamers like me who, while browsing new titles for something new to play will automatically back out and continue scrolling if a game has zombies in the title or description regardless of how good it might be. That market is tapped and way too over-saturated. Can you have zombies in your game? Sure. Should the whole game revolve around zombies instead of them being a creature in your world? No. FFS no. The zombie market is so oversaturated that if we actually had a zombie apocalypse I'd view them the same as I do mosquitoes. At this point, a biblical plague would be more interesting... filling out government paperwork is more scary. Do something else.

cataclysm dda is also a absolute banger of a zombie openworld... also it's free. the overlap is straight up using Starbound maps and physics. does it make any mention of using 3rd party engine and large amounts of sprites?

The Zevolution game, I mean it looked alright and stuff, but as you're saying there's nothing special or really unique about it, most of those things games already got, 7 Days to die - weird graphics but, you can destroy basically everything, make basement bases and stuff, Rust - no zombies unless some server adds it, but properly decent building mechanism and survival ways, DayZ - Unless you play a community server it obviously don't have the biggest focus on Building, but zombies, survival, medicine, food, water etc beats almost everything. Gotta balance all those things, it's actually kinda hard to make something PROPERLY unique when it comes to zombie survival today cause most people got it.

Kickstarter should have an incubation phase for before projects go public on the main branch. So,me of these could be a lot better if we could offer them some basic advice in comments. Sytny assets are a no-go for me. Its not that hard to make unique characters. Even if they edited them a bit that would show some effort.

I like the aesthetic of the world in the Paradox horror game, but yea, that frame rate is bad. Maybe they'll fix it, cause indie horror games seem to be the only way to get good horror games anymore. As for the acid trip horror game, that can be terrifying, or so I'm told. Though I feel like we saw the whole game in that trailer. :D The space battle game just reminded me of NMS combat tbh, but with even less to it somehow. I'm glad you didn't end the zombie game early, while I may not play it, I still love seeing zombie survival in different forms. Last I played DayZ was when they added the 2nd map, I didn't play the map but my friends hated it. "Beats! Beats who? Beats the shit out of you!" Had me laughin. That looked fun and worth 10 bucks. Isotope Ash reminded me of a Mega Man game that came out waaay back in early 2000s, really wasn't into it but this looked cool still! Never cared for Terraria, but that was more so cause I was heavy into modded Minecraft way back when I was introduced to Terraria (like 2015/2016) so I'd be more interested in this. As for the health club game....I have no words lol. I know it's an adult game, so I won't judge it like I would anime, cause the point of it is to be "Adult", but I can find other things to do in the time I'd take to play this game. I'm picky about a lot of anime though. Not so much when I was younger, but now, if your anime would be bad without the fan service, i'm not interested. Have fan service, by all means, but if that's all it has going for it, I'll pass. I'm not looking for soft-core porn with a side plot. Thanks for the video Kira, great to see all those games that actually look good still trying on Kickstarter.

About the space game and why only 800 pounds, well I guess cause the Synty pack wasn't that expansive and then bought the Space combat kit on unity for 62 euro's. The trailer very much looks like the trailer of the Space Combat Kit anyway. I mean it could still become a fun game to play but wouldn't require much work beside some level design and probably is a single person's only project, who might not need the money to pay rent and such cause he/she does this next to their job.

I'd like to design a game very similar to Metal Max for the Famicom, 8-Bit playable on PC that allows full customizing of tanks and vehicles. I would include flying and water vehicles as well.
