@@joeyvanover3587 my brother stumpjumper videos (,Reynolds logging ) owns one in allegany mountains in Pennsylvania. Every 4th pad he has agressive grousers on it. Only a 160. And he can lay it down. He also has 759 hot saw. On one of his crews. But for 1/4 the price of big hot saw. He loves it. And they put out the wood. 1500 ton a week
@@toddreynolds8875 I'm not saying they are bad machines, iv ran machinery for close to 20 yrs.. iv seen what there capable of and what they are not able to do
I'll bet the folks that live on the other side of that wooden fence, are sure going to miss those trees. What a money making machine that is! Great footage, Chris!
Ryan's Equipment makes great attachments this is just one of many. I have their log grapple and stump grinder and they are top notch heavy duty attachments
Neat vid to watch. That machine is pretty much making lumber Jack's obsolete. Even in heavy undergrowth areas they're using them. The northern bamboo he took some out of is worth a pretty penny to landscaping companies. A really good friend of mine had a nursery here in South Miami-Dade county where he'd grow it then ship it north after they reached 3 foot tall. Always shipped after the last thaw when landscaping begins another planting season. Shipped cold storage. One of his most profitable plants he grew. Right up with Silver Palms.
One heck of a machine for sure, but does it really save time/money when the stumps are still in the ground and must be removed before any land leveling or building can take place ? Now if that tree saw is being used by a logging company, Which it is obvious that it is, I can see their benefit in the fast felling of the trees. But as always, in doing so, loggers leave unseen stump problems to be excavated/removed by someone else, which will cost to the landowner or land developer. Always something new to learn and thankfully, you have friends with equipment who can teach you.
Tethered directional fallers/shovel loggers are tearing most work of the last bastion of hand fallers here in coastal bc: the steep slope. Fallers are expensive and their work is heavily restricted here to improve safety.
̇George H. Yes, I had a neighbor put in a nice bamboo setup on his side of the fence. I sure hated it when it appeared out of the ground on my side. It took forever to get rid of that nuisance.
Wow thats a very nice Volvo excavator with tree cutter nice , cab protection, Chris your way doing, trees get the stump out to, is more efficiënt he must do the stumps afterwards...🤔
I know it is a whole different way to use an excavator, but if someone as good as Chris found it that tricky, it demonstrates just how much skill goes into being really good with it. I can't help feeling that this is the easy part, and that mess of logs now has to be cleaned up, but I expect there is a different machine that makes easy work of that bit as well. I was wondering if Chris would quote for the stump removal, but I am not sure that he particularly enjoys ripping out stumps. I guess you take them as they come if you want to keep working.
Hope you get to 200k subscribers. I've done excavating my whole life but the dedication you have to take edit and put up these videos up is hard work. Nice job
I would still rather have you clear my land cause when your done there are no stumps or under bush left the land is clean and clear yea it may be faster to get the trees down but there still a lot to clean up letsdig18 is the way keep up the good job see ya on the next one 👍👍👍👍👍
Well instead of having a dedicated feller buncher you can change the head out on a bucket and do other work. Order the pins and bushings now so in a bit you will have spares. Blades and bar and parts with that. Sure picked up production, is that a lot slider I see? Cool video. Now to dig up the stumps.
The orange looks so good on the railings and hose covers. Its that factory? I think this might be the best looking earthmover I have ever seen. That orange is brilliant.
These are definitely handy makes a job well a little bit easier just sucks you got stumps to rip out now the stems come out easier when the trees attached to it so I don't know depends on what you're doing I guess
Chris, is this machine more efficient than when you uproot the trees with the excavator? Or do these stumps stay where they are (minus the tree)? The cutting head seems awfully floppy, lacking your usual finesse with an excavator bucket. I always liked your method of tree removal, stump and and all. Not sure of the benefit of this do-dad. Someone please educate me!
So Chris is there a benefit for you to clearing this way and then coming up behind and pulling the stumps with the other Volvo? I suppose if you kept all the logs for the mill it might be.
Don't they make a similar attachment that once the log is cut, it then rolls the log, stripping the bark and the branches and you can then quickly make 16' 6" cuts? (piling them up neatly as you go) That would really be a time saver - and only thing left is for you, Chris, to dig 'n haul the stumps!
He needs to buy the big boy version,It strips the bark off too. And i thought he was going to reach over the fence and start trimming the neighbors trees....
Great video mate, now you know how the rest of us mortals feel ,but I think probably after one weekend practicing you would be better than most . Maybe if you get sick of scooping red clay you could hit up logger wade for a job ,cheers from down under.
@@monoxidechild6161 no I wore the first one out lol. I'm still getting used to this one. It can do a whole lot more than was shown in the video. This is the 2.0 model haha
Which is quicker this machine which cuts down the tree but then you have go back and remove the stumps, or a excavator wth a good bucket removing the tree and stump in one go like Chris does. Maybe Chris can tell us.
