Vigilante 8 in my opinion is better than Twisted Metal. I'm not trying to knock on Twisted Metal, but it's just sad that this game didn't get the recognition that it deserved back in 1998. Vigilante 8 is a hectic, full throttle, thrill ride made by Activision that is one of the many games that helped dominate my childhood. The characters are interesting. The soundtrack kicks ass. The weapons are awesome. The levels are cool looking, and above all else: It's Fun. Destroying cars and creating havoc has never been so fun. Enjoy my review of "Vigilante 8" for the Playstation.

I remember playing this game without cheats, it was a bit harder as I remember... you actually had to be good at it. Nice video.

Sid Burn was my all time favourite in this game, that plus his vehicle was absolutely awesome to look at when I was a kid. I remember playing the Demo to Vigilante 8, and you could play as either Sid Burn or Houston 3, I always went with Sid. Coyotes faction FTW!!!

Still an awesome game to this day, I first played it on the N64 (which I prefer) because the sound track actually plays on the main menu.

What do you mean that the graphics arent good? They are very good in my opinion - other than that this is a great review. V8 one of the all time best ps1 games.

This brings a lot of memories '.. Really fantastic game even for the graphics and physics considering how other games fared this one and konami's Winning Eleven were the best in these 2 categories ...and i agree with you about the awesomeness of it .. Nothing compared e joy of wandering around launching rockets or electrifying cars which are kilometers away from you wrecking em up .. Thumbs up !

Both of them were good, Twisted Metal III was a train wreck. I will say Vigilante 8 did make it more interesting than simply kill all your opponents. But Twisted Metal actually had proper boss fights. Honestly it really depends what appeals to you more out of these two. Personally, I always been a huge Twisted Metal fan. At the same time, I was blown away by Vigilante 8 on Nintendo 64.

Just ordered this from ebay after selling my N64 fifteen years ago. I borrowed V8 from a friend who had a lot of N64 games and good god, this game just has infinite replayability. It's far from perfect, flawed in many ways but there's just something about it that is addictive, especially when you master all the secret weapon moves etc (look that up if you don't know). I got it for the playstation 1 this time around, I've heard there are some differences but I hope it'll be pretty much the same. Too bad you used cheats though.

I played this game when I was 9 years old. when I was a child...it's like twisted metal 2 and rogue trip vacation 2012. that's the only three games I know......it's only this game vigilante 8 for the playstation 1.

Totally agree I played both a lot. Cuz the most of my friends preffered TM. But always thought vigilante was waaay better. Hilarious comments BTW rofl
