Been slowing perfecting my craft and the tools in which I use to do so. come check out this fun video of me giving the grand tour of what I use in a day-to-day basis for my lawn care business.
My grandson just started a part time lawn service and he’s allready taking about a 7 k zero turn, but my thinking is on the small yard a 200 buck rider will work great and it’s paid for 20 years ago Can mow twice as fast and make payments or mow slower and make money for me 😊😊😊😊❤
Yea it's not a zero turn and an older riding lawnmower does stand the test of time it's also a plus the transmission on those things are metal and not like the newest ones that have plastic!
Depends on the size of yards but yeah keep it simple as equipment goes. 1 small mower, 1 med to large mower. If I was to do it full time again and solo, I would do a truck bed trailer style set up
Great tip on the string for the weed whacker bro!!! That a major pain point for me when I'm all the way in the back of a customer's property and it runs out on me!! Excellent info bro!!! JT
Just subscribe to channel. Just ran across it watching other channel. I take care of 101 rental properties. All maintenance, HVAC, turning units. I only cut 18 properties every 2 week on the MUILT units. I have a John Deere stand on 52" i like the mower. I brought it used for $2000. With 900 hour's on it when i brought it 3yrs ago. I guy needed the cash. I thought it was a good deal. And i honestly have really not issues other then just maintenance stuff. Look forward to wacthimg more videos.
I have a 20 year old stihl trimmer, needless to say they dont make them like they use to. FS 80R rules the world, definitely been putti g it through its paces. I finally had to put a new carb on it last year.
Nice video man!! Im just starting out. Been at it since March. Using a John Deere E110 lawn tractor. Through walking door to door and posting flyers, I have managed to acquire 12 yards to cut! I still work an office job 7-4 and cut grass after work. I hope to one day do this full time!
Keep at it. Make sure you make a good looking Google page! I get so much work from Google cause I’m always in the top 3 with over 40 five star ⭐️ reviews
I no longer have my business but I found that a 36" walk behind and 48" ztr/stander was the best cut and plenty size for every property I took care of. Over the time of my business I had ztr as the standers were just catching on but I had 48", 50", 52" and 60".... I also always ran Echo trimmers and blowers with only non ethanol gas and never really had issues.... You may want to do a carburetor swap on that weed eater, I have done several of the tune up kits on ebay or Amazon with the carb, spark plug, air filter and it has new fuel lines plus the prime bulb for around $20.
Good job brother, dont get carried away with equiptment. Ive been using john deere 375r for 4 years and never had work done on it. Mow 60 weekly clients with it haha.
@@briandewolfe22 as long as it makes sense financially and makes you money your good. I do not buy brand new ever except my trimmers and blowers smaller things. Also i did the same with the battery trimmers and regretted it. I have like 20 40v batteries now. Use the echo trimmers and blowers with ryobi batteries. Ryobi really stepped up their game i know its not for everyone but it works. Also to me its convientent because i can go to home depot for most everything i need. As long as your mower is 22 hp or more i think its a good buy, 52 inch deck or below. Nice truck btw you keep things super clean which makes a difference in efficency. I also make decent money with my customers by subcontracting hardscape jobs. Its good to look into because i can advertise hardscaping and just have to close the deal. 1k 2k profit like 3x a year. 4% on 50k is a lot lol. Good luck.
It’s funny that you brought it up, but I literally just started my side business mowing last month and I bought a 5x10 tandem that is homemade. Everyone was giving me shit about it when I bought it, but now I have room to grow my business and do more jobs because I have the weight capacity.
That’s the perfect size! You can make good money cutting grass! But listen have bigger goals too! Don’t focus so much on just cutting grass! Start another business too! Find a way to have your money make you money. Passive income is boss!
@@briandewolfe22 your equipment is meant to run when its hot. Also for me its best only because every day i would have to unload my tailer or cover it. Now i can just leave everything right where it goes. I might get open if i get busy enough for another rig. I also live in pa so maybe like further south you could be making a valid point about the heat. Its just not a problem for me plus i barely drive from job to job anyways so it wouldnt cool off driving too much 2 minutes up the road. Also with the longer trailer you can do 2 mowers and rotate them if u needed. But your setup is actually awesome. I do wish i had a commercial stander but cant justify it until one of my mowers breaks down. Good luck! This work isnt easy.
@@evangoshert5817 both have there advantages for sure, I just enjoy the utility, nice to know I can fill it with mulch, rocks, sticks, and leaves when I need to. But the enclosed is nice for when you don’t wanna unload after work. So I get it. Both work for lawn care. Thanks for the comment man! I appreciate any and all feedback back!
No, I had the same issue with the STHL trimmer. I’d have to keep the throttle going a little so it wouldn’t die. But I switched to RedMax and it starts first pull everything even in 90+ degrees with no guard.
I run a 48 inch deck but i do residential only most of my jobs are an acre or less. On that stihl trimmer you got you can adjuat thr throttle to keep it going. Sounds like its just out of adjustment. Google where the screw is for it but as long as it doesnt have carb issues that should fix it. I believe its the t screw on the carb it pushes the throttle open just a little bit and can help with idle issues
Those are some nice upgrades to your trailer and gas can. I’m assuming you do this part time? I’m looking at possibly getting into mowing next year as my family transitions to the Midwest. I will still have my day job remote 10am-6:30pm but figure I could go out early and knock out a few accounts 3 days a week or so before my desk job starts. I’ve been enjoying your videos!
Thank you! You can do it I know you can! Best advice is make every yard you touch beautiful and don’t be lazy lol no I do this full time I have over 40 accounts with one being about 12 acres, I started in June of 2022 and had to work full time shop job the first 2 seasons but now I’m full time and loving it.
I like how you got your setup good deal .But I think if it isn't Huskavarua it's echo .I ran a crew with about 5 echos 3 years and the echos never failed and your right the screens in the string trimmer .n
i rock a 48in i have 43 accounts some are 3 acres i will buy a larger mower eventually. 48 is good because i can get through most gates which is huge to never have to use a push mower.
I have the milwaukee edger, pole saw and hedger. Your right the batteries do not last. I didn't get the trimmer because it will not last for me and i dont have that many batteries to keep swapping them out like that. Imagine every yard in the spring is overgrown, yeah its not going to work. The edger is good same with the pole saw. The hedger i do not recommend anyone getting unless they really want it, it doesnt trim hedges really well. Youl spend so much time going over the same spot.
i bought them from amazon about 3 years ago but have not seen them on their sense. may be try eBay? but deffently go with cargobuckle the yellow ones are trash haha
Just started watching. Nice trailer. I was thinking about purchasing the Milwaukee pole saw that extends to 13’ for a tree trimming job coming up. Is it worth it? I like battery and have many mil tools and the hand pruner chain saw also which is great. I have a husqerverna weed eater. 325ilk it works great. Have you seen blades of grass lawn care on RU-vid? He has all battery set up. Do you have a video on how you put the walls on your trailer?
@@angelellis7690 yes it’s a good buy especially if you already own some of the mill things. I wish I could use more of my mill but I just have to many clients and I don’t wanna kill my batteries using a string trimmer
