Really liked the waterfall texture on the faster exposure and think it looked spot on when you blended it into the middle exposure. It's all personal preference I know but I think it gives a little more drama and force to the waterfall. May try raising my shutter speed a little next I'm out
@thomastuorto9929
@thomastuorto9929 Год назад
Agree on this one & personal taste. I also liked one he showed a little slower where you could see where the water would meet with the ware on the rock below. I think it depends on how much water is flowing. Like you said this one, show the power of the water flowing. If it had a lot less water flowing slower, smoother or a slower shutter speed would set the mood, so to speak. Happy shooting.

Your videos are always a welcome addition to my weekend. It is great the way you get into the logic of the files you create and how they all combine to the finished image. My question (and OCD) is how to keep track of the intention for each file in the finished image. Taking a shot of my hand at the start and end of a series helps, but doesn't explain how each image is intended to be used in post processing. The number of composition sets and subjects increases the complication of remembering WTF I was thinking in the field. Do you keep notes? Record audio?

Adam i just love your style and learning from you. I was wondering when doing photo stacking or time stacking . Do you keep the aperature the same for each shot and just change speed? In your video you mentioned shallow depth of field on the ferns to the left side. Did you change the f stop for that shot or was each one done at a more open aperature... Love your videos and pictures thanks Adam

I am meeting family at Butchart Gardens Monday. How do you find ways to make pictures of places everyone else has done a billion times unique? Your videos are so damn helpful and just make Canada shine, the tourism board really should subsidize you! Also, it's been a while since you did a gear review- especially interested in what you look for in a travel tripod. Thanks!

Your explanation of layers and masks is so simple that even a newbie to PS can easily understand it. What is missing is what do you do after you finish the time/exposure blending etc. If you save the image, PS quits and sends a .tiff file back to LR if I understand the workflow correctly. Do also save the photo in PS as a .psd file? Advantages and disadvantages of this?
@QuietLightPhoto
@QuietLightPhoto Год назад
I just save it as a TIFF unless I want to continue working on it then .psd or TIFF with the layers in tact.

I really appreciate your video Adam. I very much want to learn how to blend in PS, I'm not dim, but PS is so not user friendly. This video gave a glimpse of how it can be done. I think I would need more of a step by step guide to really crack it. Also, I'm not sure which operating system you use, so when you mention shortcuts, it would be helpful to say if that was on Mac or Windows. If you have something, including paid content, that goes into more detail, please shout. Cheers

Adam, If I were to want to add other masks to make local adjustments for exposure, color, etc, would I do that first on perhaps the base raw file in Lightroom, sync all those adjustments to the additional files, and then bring those into photoshop for final blending? I've never had good direction on what is lost once you save a composite image in photoshop. I have always been afraid that the resulting TIFF or PSD loses a lot data that exists in the raw files and adjustments in a resulting composite file are limited.
@QuietLightPhoto
@QuietLightPhoto Год назад
yes, I usually just do all of the rough adjustment in Lightroom and then synch those adjustments on all of the images before opening them as layers. Once Ive done the time blends as illustrated I'll then finish the image off in PS. I flatten the photo and save as a TIFF or if Im not sure if the image is finished as a large file with all of the layers in tact. Everyone has their own way of doing things but this has worked fine for me.
