I've ridden this elevator many times, as I live near there. Before it was modded, it had older GAL fixtures, like the kind commonly seen on ESCO elevators. Last time I was at this mall, one of the elevators was broken, and the floor indicator was totally dead on the other one.

@FGelevators well Short Hills is old. It was built in the 50's and rebuilt in 1979-1981. Also Lakeforest was built in 1978 and has one glass elevator too.

@FGelevators it was built by the Alfred A. Taubman Company in 1978 and bought by SIMON in 1995

@PinePowerLI Take a guess who it was built by... Look at the architecture... All of this company's shopping centres look EXACTLY the same, and this one is no different.

@treyelevators KONE did not exist in the USA back in the 80's when this elevator was installed

Looks like they borrowed the fixtures from an elevator in California. Seems unusual to see this variant of the Universal buttons outside of CA.
