I'm the biggest rope fanatic! I have a large duffle bag filled with all kinds of rope, just for camping. The "rope bag" had all of the answers for any camping need. Good memories! Can't go past a rope without touching it.

As a kid, my dad, myself and my brother would use a block and tackle chained to a tree to haul our boat lift out of the water every fall before the winter. It had a 3/4 manilla rope and we made a sling around the boat lift with another. What a PIA project. Dad used to refer to it as "hauling' in the manilla". BTW we preferred the lazy man's whip!!

@ScoutCrafter
@ScoutCrafter Год назад
Believe it or not there are a lot of reasons for Tractor tires being mounted backwards. Some reasons have to do with terrain and others have to do with the type of work the tractor does- An example is if the tractor does a lot of front end pulling…. 😃👍

You’re a lucky man to have all those deals available. If it wasn’t so far from California, I would come with an empty truck and trailer. I looked for a long time for some rope for my wishing well I built. The materials I used for it was the same as the poor mans flea market. I’m looking forward to the restoration of the screwdrivers. I’m hoping you reconstruct the Phillips . Thank you for the tour.

Great video 👍 What a fantastic video of the show at Zagray. They had some amazing tractors 🚜 there. That boat 🚣‍♀️ was a great deal. If I was there I could spend all day at the $1 table 😂😂. That Boston pencil sharpener is real nice , looks pretty heavy duty. The paint on the outside is in nice condition, great find👍. Those homemade screwdrivers 🪛 would be a great project. That hedge trimmer is a pretty good find , just needs a little TLC. What a nice Dunlap motor . I didn’t see nothing wrong with that old plug 🔌 for the motor neither 😂😂. The motor sounds pretty good.👍That was a great find of the rope, that rope looks like it was never used or used much at all . Well again great video and can’t wait to see what you do on Wednesday.Have a good evening. 😄👍👍

When I get a new hank of rope. I cut it up into various lengths and do an eye splice. Then I finish each length up with different colour tape. Yellow for 5 Metres, Blue for 10, and Red for 20. When I go to do a job I can instantly see which I need, and if I am worried about coming up short, the eye in each end means that I can daisy-chain them if required.

I have one of those B&D hedge trimmers and it still works like a charm. Eats extension cords without fail..:D The prices on the Pony and Jubilee tractors were insane. I hope someone bought them.. The rope was, indeed, a great find, especially in that condition. I, too, tend to buy rope when I see it. I have a large nail keg full of rope that is about 1.5" in diameter...couldn't pass it up. Unfortunately, in the distant past, some small critter had crawled into the key and died, so the smell is still a bit "unpleasant". Maybe this Summer I can get it out into the sunlight for a spell...

Hi John, at 8:36 you have a rare bird there. I believe it to be a "Pow'r Pup tractor. These were homemade from plans published in Science and Mechanics magazine back in the late 50's or very early 60's. They were designed to take attachments from Sears garden tractors. The only thing missing is the hood. They used a lot of modified parts from 1930's Fords.

Loved the Doodlebug. Really want to make a later version, but I would be in trouble with the city. I am not sure that is a coach lock box. If I am right it is a railroad lock box or a payroll box. Anyway you look at it it is a nice piece. 30 years ago when I had acreage you couldn't get a small tractor like the Ford for that kind of money. I might live long enough to own one or a Model A or T. Even the Dusenberg is coming down in price. Not to my level, but lower. Rope was your best purchase. Wrap that around the bunper of a Jeep or Doodlebug and you are right on the money. It is nice they are making modern ropes for pulling again.

Yesterday, I went to quite the estate sale. It had lots of different tools, as well as glassware that I got. One of my best purchases is a probably WWII era or older Black and Decker drill, and it also give me good ol' Baltimore pride. I also got a couple interesting books, as well as lots of hardware, which I know you would approve of. I go to a lot of estate sales with my mom as well as this thing at a local hospital where people donate stuff that you can then buy and the proceeds go to the Hospital. They're lots of fun and good ways to escape the endless culture war bs you mentioned that most people can't get enough of.
