I don't know why people find it so hard to believe that a monkey would kill a baby monkey. They are violent it's in their nature. Look at humans we have more creative ways to kill other people than any other specie. It sad😢
For people who don't know, she was disciplined multiple times, even by her mom. Which is why her mom didn't bother to protect her. She's been eating while the adult monkeys are eating and even a few times tried to take food from adults stash. She was disciplined multiple times. I think the troop just got tired of her and this was the outcome. Even in this vid, she was disciplined twice.

@@sanasalam2636not in the monkey world, there’s rules in place for a really good reason and when either a infant, juvenile or adult doesn’t follow them they get punished. Monkeys survive solely off their own natural instincts, they aren’t like humans or any other animals. Macaques don’t have any cognitive abilities so therefore they aren’t able to think rationally and logically, they also do have the same exact feelings or emotions that humans and some other animals have. They are only able to survive by following their instincts!!
She was constantly whining, crying, throwing tantrums & eating out of turn. I'm surprised she lasted 2 months. She'd just whine non-stop. That's what happens when you don't stop crying.
Well there is still some missing parts here. That baby was already stiff when picked up so that is some hours after death when her mother had her by the tail.
That kid was warned many times the females tried to warn him the constant whine and whimpering gets on the nerves of the other moms becaus it scares the other babies and then the big male has to get involved to keep peace in his harem but the kid just kept whimper try to steal food finally the moms knew what was coming and see how they just backed away even his mom could not shut him up

She was gutted. If she moved after that (as been stated), it was clearly nerve twitch. She died in seconds. Main artery was hit - you can see intestine.
Monkeys don't spank. Monkeys don't put them in timeout. What they do to punish their young is to bite or drag. This infant and its mother are very low on the totem pole in the hierarchy of the troop. The infant needs to learn its place inside the troop. Breaking the rules will get your @ss kicked. Breaking the hierarchy or flat-out disrespect will get you killed. That is the way of the troop
She was a poorly behaved monkey that deliberately violated the troop rules and social heirarchy. It was inevitable that a senior monkey was going to kill her. Sadly, her mother failed to enforce the troop rules.

I also question Santa being made the “killer” as when they show him, he has no blood anywhere on him. Not mouth or claws or chest... all completely clean but I guess they have to blame somebody. Well you know she literally was hated by.a lot of the other monkeys. They gave her so many warnings. She screeched non stop, ate out of turn and clung to anything that breathed. There was something off with this one. Even her own mother could tell.

I wonder if they aren't from Cambodia or other countries where monkeys are prevalent and they are irritated by those of us with rather cushy lifestyles who feel bad for the monkeys who are basically pests to them. Anyway, my point is I am not a monkey hater but this little girl did seem to have some issues. I've watched a bunch of these videos and what it looks like is happening is she is very low rank and they tried repeatedly to get her to understand that if a higher rank picks you up, you sit there and take it. You don't cry, screech and twitch and throw fits. Which is what she did all the time. She hardly ever is quiet and she was a danger to the troop.
In every troop, it's well known that the adults eat first, then the small ones. Daniela wouldn't wait her turn, she'd always sneak around and eat when the adults ate. She was disciplined many times before, about doing this. Well, this time she got caught, knowing she'd been warned many times before, she knew she'd done wrong. When she realized one of the adults were after her, she started running but it was far too late because this time she didn't get away with it...she was doomed by then. 😢

When these monkeys detect weakness or illness in their young, they will instinctually either treat it roughly to toughen it in preparation of a rough life (survival instinct), or kill it. This baby seemed to cry a lot, which can bring danger to the family, as crying signals weakness (needs not being met, fear, etc.). As these monkeys mature, they instinctually suppress crying or even showing outward signs of pain and distress, as they realize it makes them more vulnerable for others to attack/take advantage of them.
You would assume after thousands of years, these old world monkeys would of evolved out of that kind of behavior as infants. It only serves to attract near by predators or agitate those above in the hierarchy. Yet, here they are, probably louder and whinier than ever. Anyone observed what age they start making noticeable changes in their behavior and take on a passive demeanor like the adults?
You are absolutely correct. I have been a Primatologists for 40 years and the Apes are so much different then the monkeys. It's a hard life for the monkey babies most especially the Macaques

They are monkeys. Why do people act as though they think like humans. It is nature for them. Every animal can do this. We see lions kill bigger animals. Bears kill humans. Dani was a small tortured little monkey who wasn't taken good care of by her troop. We all knew it was going to happen that she wouldn't make it to adulthood. Poor baby.

Ghost 610 yea baby kaya was terrorized on a daily basis . Never really knowing any love at all . At least Daniel was killed quick . Kaya was starved to death and it was a very slow death .
if you really think that then you haven't been around for that long. I've been watching for 2 years now and if I had to pick the baby that suffered the most I would have to say its the prior queen Amari's daughter Lori. she was attacked twice, fell of tress numerous times, rescued by the VA's twice in a life or death situation. She's actually still alive and lives in a monkey habitat center, but suffers brain damage from all her injuries, her mother if I would have to guess passed away. she was blind the last video I seen of her. But Lori was the most popular baby for a short time, then SP after her. Love him or hate him he's a celeb, he's the only one I seen where people from different countries, fans come visit him.
@@papinbala Haha i told myself that maybe i should of mentioned ive only been watching these monkeys 1 year besides viewing older posted vids also so what the hell do i know. I dont know but Kayla was with sister im thinking was only about 5 days or close but 24hrs non stop anyways and showed the most beat to hell by the facial appearance but Lori i would have to say had the most number for bodily injuries and for the longest period of months having bad luck days plus the only baby that ive seen get knocked the f..k out more or less. Brutus Jr. was to me the one that just brought out the worst in older monkeys and gets picked on alot especially by Dolly and my favorite personality and a character behavior of his own dealing with it till Daniela out done him and moved to top stop with me anyways. Brutus Jr. & Daniela seemed to be so alike they could be brother and sister hehe. Same one of a kind character of their own that either one reminds me of the other by the spasm seizure and dealing with Dolly treatment day after day and bad luck days it was like they are living the same life just different bodys...lol and unique babys. This video i will post in another comment next of Brutus Jr. is what i mean by alike and has to be a classic that shows just how scared being so young as a newborn which i believe is Loris mom hes scared of that starts around (6min/27secs) that a noise(camera flash) would make him have a panic attack so bad he couldnt function well or not able to get his muscles to work with what his brains is trying to make happen hes wanting to do to get away from what hes frightened about...& nothing happened. Nothing funnier than how Brutus Jr. falls off of mom(7min/13 secs) nervous & panicky still than hurrys and climbs back to the nimple and still abit in panick mode without full muscle control but the character he is and how he plays it off trying to be calm and not scared like nothing happened is hilarious... i just love him! 😂

I know this is an old film. I came across it again tonight. I think it's strange that, when she was alive, Danielle was ignored by her mother, abused by other monkeys, dragged, bitten, pushed away, abandoned, and generally disliked by all. Then, in death, all the monkeys guard her, sniff her, and pay attention to her, too late. If they only were so kind to her when she was alive.
for those who say Daniela deserved this.....maybe, in their world. but if that's true, then Sweetpea deserved this 100 times more than Daniela did. Sweetpea should have been gutted a long time ago.
Dana doesn’t realize her baby is dead. She stops carrying Daniela then pulls on her expecting her to follow her. She waits but she doesn’t. But I do think she sense something is wrong. It’s sad that they don’t really understand the finality of death.
Kindred Spirit Dana knows her baby is death that’s her why to process she will carry the baby’s body for little while until one day she will let it go. That’s how they process death.

Poor little thing she was running for her life. This is what she did everyday. When she stopped and turned around to look you can see how terrified she was but she tried to run again and was caught.
JABU You're so right...and ironically, that moment where she turned around to look...that look of terror on her little face....was *the first and only time I ever saw Daniella actually grimace at anyone* ....and ironically, the grimace was directed at the monkey that was basically a stranger to her (and to many of us, too...apparently), who was chasing her and killed her moments later. Sadly, even if she hadn't turned around to look, he still would have easily caught her. Anyways, in regards to Daniella's grimace, if anyone ever had a genuine reason to grimace, it was Daniella, but I don't recall ever seeing her grimace until the day that she died. :-(
I know this happened to Daniella a while ago but I hope she didn't suffer. I wish the VO's wouldn't have given her food because I believe that's why she was killed. Eating out of turn.

I know this is waaay late but at around 12:35 when the baby started running the 1st man, after chasing the monkeys, basically said, "dead now." With the second man saying something like, "stomach/body is ripped open." Most of the time they're repeating, probably in shock, at how fast it was. Keeps saying variations of it when people asked what happened.
Wasn't it just a matter of time before Daniela would meet her demise? She never had a day of peace in her life. She was rarely close enough to her mother to be protected. She was beaten and tormented daily by either her mother or the other two monsters who enjoyed torturing her. She really didn't stand a chance, did she?
The mother didn’t care for Danielle since birth. The baby was crying out for her mother and the other monkeys comforted her. The mother didn’t teach baby Danielle the rules an manners she needed to learn to survive in the wilderness.
What a clear ad exact wa to put it. She broke their laws numerous times. If you look at the video we're they had her on the rocks she looks as though she's submitting herself to their punishment. She wasn't screaming or trying to get away. In fact she was following them as if she was making sure their punishment was over.

Dee was never a good mom to Daniela… Thanks to Dee not being there with Daniela ,she died because of it. It was so sad that sweet baby Daniela died… I watched the video before and it broke my heart

Yeah she thinks her baby works like a pull-start lawnmower. If she runs and drops it enough times, she'll catch it in gear and it will start up again and run along beside her. Monkeys are so intelligent. It's guts hanging out shouldn't be a problem.

Smita Katke I agree totally w/you about Daniela being such an easy target, she was like a sitting duck for sure. She would run to Dana, hold on so tight when other monkeys were pulling to kidnap her and Dana's arms were just by her side, she didn't even try to hug the baby and try to avoid the steal. Daniela was terrified of them and knew the abuse and torture that lay ahead for her, I would've been screaming too for someone to help me. She was so small and looked to be starving to me, very sad. I sd a couple of times that she reminded me of Lori, looked like her too. Dana is a lazy mother, God help the next one she has.
@Esperanza Lastarria Right. It is an effect of an inapopropriate human interference. Innatural diet, confunding human behaviors and so on produce abnormal social and behavioral models in these troops. In wilderness a so fat female could not exist, nor gave birth....
Daniella was bold, didn’t fear the troops. She didn’t live by the rules. Her mom didn’t take good care of her. From when she was born until her death she did her own thing.
And her non fear got her gutted. Her mama DID take good care of her. Damnyeller was too busy doing what SHE wanted to do instead of feeding. When she did tit suck all she did was play. She got what she deserved and then some! Bet she listens in the next life!
I am so saddened by this news. I've been watching her since she was born. Really tears me up inside. I realize it's nature and these things happen but still she was tortured her entire life. No she is at peace at least. Poor sweet baby girl.
I have been watching her since she was born too. I loved her because she was bullied as was I. I'm in shock as I had just commented last night saying this..."Bring her to me, I'll protect her. She would be my little princess and I would spoil her rotten, I love her so much!" Then I woke up at 2am to tune in my monkeys and I saw that she died...I broke down and bawled for good 20 minutes! I just couldn't believe my little princess was gone. I'm crying as I type.

These monkeys are trying to make distance between them and these people. Weither she killed the baby or not in a violent rage. It's still her baby. Shes bringing it with her because they grieve like we do. Shes trying to find a space to examine the baby and have the time with her herself. It's been proven they do this in several documentaries and that the mom grieves examines holds etc the baby that dies Shes scares and trying to be by herself with her dead baby. These guys need to leave them alone.
You're not supposed to get in between natural selection my friend. Is awful. It's ugly but that's the truth, just like when 2 dogs fight you're not supposed to separate them, chances that next time they see each other or see other dog even then ones in their own pack, and fight to kill it are high, or including attacking you from now on,because you're only feeling the adrenaline more and to them is like you're taking a side. I would've separate them yea, but then again they didn't had any shooting anesthesia nor anything, the one that could've ended up killed was one of them. It is sad and horrible I know, but if they don't have all the materials to make such move, it can be worse. Always remember this seems to be in India they are prepared but not entirely they do what they can.
If they would just film and not interfere the picture would had been more so visible. Understand humans should only watch and not get involved even with the dead monkeys.
This was in the summer of 2019. There is a reason for this. Sankra was a young pet who had been owned and abandoned by a soldier near the Amber troop in 2015. After he was mature, be began participating with other strong males attempting to overthrow SKippy, the king of Amari. The overthrow is not only done by fighting, but by killing the babies of a troop who are likely the king's offspring. The death of a baby sends the mother into estrus and then the new King can mate with her and the new offspring of the troop are his, which ensures loyalty of the mother and infant. In this case Ashley and some of the males drove Sankra off and he did not become King. He is neither accepted by Amari or Amber troops, but does stay close to both of them. I have read it was Sankra, who had been identified as a problem, not Skippy, and they were attempting to catch Sankra when Skippy was identified as Sankra and accidentally killed in the December 2020 cull.

There is no longer need to blame the other monkeys or even blame Daniela herself. She was killed in nature for whatever reason. I Loved her n am broken hearted but it happens. At the end of the day they are not as we come to see them but are Wild Animals. RIP sweetheart 💔😢

I understand that Santra didn’t even belong in baby Daniela’s troop… He was an outsider and was trying to infiltrate their troop. And, apparently he was seriously attacked and beaten later and ran off into the wild and was never seen again… GOOOD! I’m glad he got his comeuppance!!!
Yes, he was a rogue male but Daniela also made herself a target by her constant cooing/crying/spazzing etc.. Daniela dying was inevitable. Whether it of been a rogue male or one of the other adult troop members, it was bound to happen. Her constant disrespect was her downfall.
If constant disrespect was the cause, S/hi-tpee and Janet and Janna would have NEVER lived half as long as they did!! And before anyone starts flipping out, I know that they were all different troops. They were still all long tail macaques… and annoying.
@@jicarillagurl There’s a BIG difference between Janna/Janet and Daniela. Jane was Janna/Janet’s issue. Daniela was the whole troops issue. Different monkeys, different scenarios. Daniela, her constant disrespect for her elders and her constant drawing attention to herself by cooing/crying/calling, made Daniela a target. A target for that rogue male and a target for Dolly and DDs aggression.
They capture every last ass scratching. Lice belching, Fart sneeze these monsters emit, Yet this, Literally the shot the whole world wants to watch repeatedly, In slow motion, Every damn last idiot misses. Ridiculous!
I have watched this story 3 times.. and yes. It’s likely as this video Daniela is all alone looking for food. You can hear voices on the video laughing and follow Daniela eyes and it looks like she is waiting for something.. it’s a set up these guys have toyed with this group long enough..time for pay off to happe. There is nothing else left to abuse her with… here come LIGHTS CAMERA ACTION and the story ends. Move on to the next. That makes $$$$
They keep editing the video if they would let it play at original then we would of known exactly what happen but. Unfortunately they dont want to or let u see everything.
Her life was hell with a mama that did not protect her from Dede she died a horrible death but rip little star. You sure deserved better than you had .
@@lapislazuli746 No she could not. Not in this group of monkeys -- Dolly and Dee Dee ganged up on Dana. One time when Dana resisted them Dolly viciously bit Dana's eye and almost took it out. It seems that in this primate group the members with weaker social standing have no protection at all. So if there is a sadistic unstable psychopath like Dolly and Dee Dee, and they can gang up on a weaker monkey, then they can do what ever they like -- with no consequences. These monkey videos are actually quite depressed. Being a monkey -- if you are not high born -- sucks!
Peter Hunt Thanks for this info., I had no idea things played out like this in their troop. Monkey Society is strange and I wonder how it came to be this type of social order, very interesting.
That’s called exploration -at first the baby ventures out five feet before running back to the security of mom! As they age and need to forage for food (less nursing’s) the distance grows. Too bad she lost site of mom and called for her, it cost her her life. Not sure if that was a rival or an impatient elder who didn’t want to hear it, but it’s wrong either way!
Dana never kept close to Daniela, that's why she was always crying, which the other adults in the troop did not like. Santra, the killer, wasn't even a member of her troop. He's an abandoned "pet"...very aggressive.
@@jillian7636 Baby Daniela was always alone. Here mother left her alone most of the time, hence the crying. She was looked after by Ashley, the pigtail, but she needed mom.
@@maries584 Exactly and here we see Daniela is Very Hungry ! She often is pushed off in past when mom covered her breasts and refused letting her nurse so even here we watch her be turned away again so Daniela is the whole time grabing at leaves and things trying to find something she can eat ! Mom often ignored and did not let baby nurse enough! Maybe mom had some part in this too. She appeared to me to not have enough experience to know how much milk monkeys need for a long time after birth, or her breasts were very sore and she cannot let baby nurse because of that too. Although she did try to keep her close and Daniela was at age to start venturing out more and more to become strong and indepent is also true and Daniela went too far and this aggressive monkey got her and killed her. That aggressive monkey was stolen away by selfish human who then just abandonded her one day. Monkeys taken when small and cute to show off and make money making videos of them and then just dump them off are seem strange to other monkeys because they are somehow just not like the others and the others sense it and usually reject them and they are almost always killed by other monkies v because of them acting socially awkward after being forced to put on little human baby clothes and having to do what their fake human wants them to act and behave. They are somewhat damaged because of fake human "mom" and then not quite able to fit in with other monkeys ! They get rejected .and beat up a lot and if they make it to stay alive they must learn to fight and then they often strike out and attack other littler monkeys just like they have experienced and become the aggressive mean monkies to monkies smaller than them. It is terribly, terribly Sad !! But l also think they go to say goodbye to those that died not just to learn lesson or just curious. Many other animals like crows and elephants and more also sit with and mourn death of their own kind. And l think it is noving always also! Then often mother cannot grasp or accept that their baby is totally dead and sometimes they carry and drag them around for many days and that is very sad as well. RIP little baby. Next time your mom gets another baby l hope she can put up with the almost const they carry and drag them around with them for many days
I seen them come up and take that little baby right out of the mother's hands and she didn't do a thing; didn't even complain. The evil female adults even stopped her from nursing her baby; she cared more about her safety than her little baby's safety. That was what kind of mother she was!!
