Regarding press your luck, “Michael Larson. A self-described unemployed ice cream truck driver from Lebanon, Ohio, he applied to be on the show that year. By recording episodes at home on a videocassette recorder and playing them back frame-by-frame, Larson discovered that the presumed random patterns of the game board were not actually random and he was able to memorize the sequences.”

Quiz Lady was a great movie. Awkwafina also starred in that Nicholas Cage movie "Renfield" that came out this year, and that was fantastic too. If you liked "Kickass" you'll probably enjoy "Renfield"

Pugs are such cute dogs. I would walk through Golden Gate Park, and at the far west end of it is a section known as The Chain of Lakes, and at North Lake I would see a woman who had a black pug named Pearl, and Pearl had an incredibly saucy walk that (to me) screamed out “I’m Pearl, I’m a Pug” on a loop. I bet pugs would still be intensely cute if their faces weren’t smooshed in.

There was one guy who figured out the rhythmn of press your luck and won big, after they had figured it out they changed it. Also, they didn't take away his winnings because he technically didn't cheat, he just figured it out first.

So proud of my fellow Press Your Luck jackals! From the ABC reboot that has been on for five seasons hosted by Elizabeth Banks, as well as the GSN reboot, Whammy! The New Press Your Luck from 2003 it has had quite a life since the original. Also the story of Mister Softee truck operator Michael Larson discovering the pattern to consistently land on the biggest prize on the board each time winning $110,237 in his episode. Honestly, an incredible story!

Funnily enough, there actually were patterns to Press Your Luck. Look up Michael Larson, who won $110,000 after memorizing the different patterns ... unfortunately he lost it all within two years due to a bad real estate deal. Crazy story.

I watch corrections religiously, and roll my eyes at the jackals quite often, but even I can’t let the Press Your Luck thing go un called out. I don’t know how anyone could have watched that show and not have heard about the guy who learned the pattern and timing of the board. Also, it’s been rebooted, so it’s not before anyone’s time that is alive right now. It’s on ABC, so Kimmel would have gotten this right (I’m teasing. I would be devastated if my comment would actually make it to Seth and then he’d hate me!)

I was just about to say this! His name was Michael Larson and he was an ice cream guy. He was a contestant in 1984. He won $110,000 by memorizing the pattern and they ruled that it wasn’t cheating so he kept all the winnings! I believe after that they changed the pattern or made it a true randomizer.
