This song came out in 1974. Six years later, on the morning I had a doctor's appointment to confirm my first pregnancy, (no home tests then) my husband & I were awakened by our radio alarm, & this is the song that was playing!!! I took it as a very good sign, & it was!! 🤣

Paul Anka is currently one of the last living teen idols of the 50s. His first number one hit when occurred when he was 16 years old in 1957 with the song he also written called 'Diana". If im not mistaken, it wouldnt be til the Summer of '74 when Anka found the number one spot again with this song 'Having My Baby'. Anka is also still touring at the age 81.

This is a great song. I've seen this requested for Lex at her baby shower. Just side information, Paul's last name is pronounced Ain (like pain) - kuh. When this song came out, he was getting blasted by women's group. Of course, he was only expressing how he felt with his wife having his (their) baby. I think he had to change it once to "Having Our Baby."

Interesting to watch Brad's and Lex's body movements. It starts out as coming together and apart (almost as if making love). Paul Anka is a great performer and a great singer to this day. I love the way he always bowed. First time I heard this song was in the movie jaws. It was the beach scene and someone was playing it on the beach. I was 12 years old at the time by the way he is the father-in-law of actor Justin Bateman.

Haven't heard this in decades, so it sounds OK to me now. But when it came out it was absolutely overplayed on the radio and I soon hated it. I'd hear it at least once an hour and finally just shut the radio off to save my sanity.
