Thanks for this video. Axe FX2 is still doing the job and is a great audio card that I use with Cubase 10.5 with USB on a computer. Definitely recommanded to uprade it with Ares firmware for Axe FX2, which brings more clarity, dynamic and reality to the sound, to me. Using Axe Edit brings better results too.

All are still good and applicable and likely always will be. The cranked Dumble sounds great! Would have liked to see back to back clips with similar tone in the Ax Fx 3 since that is what it would be compared to, never to the actual amp anymore unfortunately. Great playing! 👍

Error 10110 it’s great!!! Been recording all of my tracks with a new sound I dialed from the tone match feature. Sounds very crisp and professional. You’ll definitely enjoy yours

Just lovely, I just bought a used AX8, waiting for it to arrive! Been using the Amplifire for a while but always felt a little limited with it, it sounds very good though.

NEW SUBSCRIBER 👍👍 great information, I like your style, excellent dynamics, tasteful playing - chord shapes ETC... I regretfully sold my AXE FX ii during the pandemic/shutdowns. I was on the fence about purchasing a AXE FX III or another II... So far I'm not hearing anything from a III that I was not able to get from a II. I know there is more power and connection options, but I'm not hearing 1k worth of added tone for what I do with the units which is mainly edge of breakup studio work or volume restricted situations. thanks for this video, it is so nice to hear cleaner straight amp breakup tones as that's 90% of what I use these type devices for. That was great, Camilo. I never had the Axe FXII. I have the Axe FXIII, BUT my favorite preset was created on the FXII and I converted it for use with the FXIII. To my knowledge, the preset author is still using the FXII and when he uses it, it sounds amazing to me. Also, I saw Brit Floyd live last year and both guitarists’ tones sounded excellent to me. One guitarist was using a FXIII and I read that the other was using the FXII. Coming through the mains, I could not tell you that one sounded better than the other. Tim Miller uses the AX8 live and that was an amazing sound too. It seems to be a win win win situation to me. ; )

Dude, your skills and phrasing are outstanding! I´d like to know, how you build up your presets? Are you using 3th party IRs? Are you sharing your presets? Which FW are you using? ARES 2? Keep up the good work and all the best to you!

Still play mine every day 5 years after buying this baby. It's 2 XL + and it got new life when the Axe FX 3 algorithm was ported over to the 2 in the last firmware. Yes the Axe FX 3 is way more powerful and sonically has more to offer now but the difference is not worth the upgrade for me at this time. I will mot likely wait for future generation models before I upgrade unless this thing quits on me. Best money I have ever spent on any gear. I am still exploring the possibilities with my Axe Fx2. I have me go to patches but I am still finding new favorites. There is so much tone in this box. I have been able to recreate just about every every one of my favorite album tones from the past using the tone match feature. It's incredible just how well the tone matching works. I didn't even use it at all until about 3 years in. I thought it was gimmicky and figured it would not be accurate enough. Wow I was so wrong. It is darn near perfect.

What is the concessions? Is the 3 sonically better??? I don't care about the effects, just the overall natural amp sound, and is the 3 any better at doing that??? And, depending on the answer I have a 2 for sale. Maybe

Been using Fractal since my first standard back in 2008. Switched to the 2 in 2012/13 but havent gone to the 3. I dont need the power for routing - I generally use an amp model, reverb and maybe delay. Only use the irs for recording - live I go through a Fryette power station into a 2x12. Given that usage, and that the FC101 isnt compatible.... An AFX3 and FC12 is a lot of cash for a tiny improvement. One day Ill jump... Maybe even when AFX4 comes out lol. Doesnt help I play mainly keys for the last 2 years in bands either.. so my cash has been spend on my keys rig.

Hi sir.. I need your preference, I’m planning to buy one of them, HX Stomp or Axe Fx Ultra (used condition) which one would you recomend to me for the best/better sound for my mainly live rig? Or any other recomendation? Kemper too exspensive for me.

i've rocked the crap out of my line 6 pod x3 and enjoyed it for what it is, but i'd like to upgrade to more and most importantly want a modeler that lets program multiple distortion pedals and multiple modulation pedals at a time so i can go between them without switiching programs. the axe should let me do that. not ready to justify an axe fx 3 yet.

Man, I used a Line 6 Pod X3 live on tour for a few years. No comparison. The X3 live is like dating the old lady that drives the school bus, the Axe FX III is like dating Scarlett Johansson.

I don’t have the AXE FX but used mint Kemper is about the same price. More if you want one with power, less money unpowered. None of them but the Kemper and the Yamaha double modeler which is way less money and overlooked and underrated comes with power. All the others you need a power source. I think the AXE sounds great. But as much as it is it should come with power. Same for the helix. I still love my amps and real pedals the best. Play for hrs with them. Tweak too much with modelers and profilers. That’s just my opinion that nobody asked. I just enjoy Camilo’s particular sounds and playing. Especially, the plexi high gains. He’s got it firm and he sounds great as I said but most importantly he’s a great player. That should come first before high end gear. He still has amps. I see them. 😉

This is like asking if a 1950s les Paul still is good in 2020___ age has no factor if it sounds good. Either does or doesn’t. Guitar tech lil diff than a television. If you want a more affordable helix and a touch screen it’s offered but but by no means diminishes the quality of the fractal ... love mine for 4 years now

im sometimes getting pops and crackles when I play my axe fx 2 xl. Does anyone here know what could be causing this? I've heard around that it has to do with buffer sizes. These usually happen once I turn the axe on. They usually go away after 5 or 10 minutes of having the ax fx turned on.

Very odd. Had mine for 7 years and never experienced. Maybe something is lose or not making good connection. I'd say check the forum or contact support. They usually tell u how to go about these things

Buffersize only matters when running Computer Audio through the Axe Fx (=acting as an audio interface). Check your Axe Fx CPU meter - if this is very high it can cause drop outs / artefacts. This is increased if a USB connection from Axe to a computer is plugged in. See: wiki.fractalaudio.com/wiki/index.php?title=CPU_usage ;)

What's up Jared! Yeah man. they discontinued it some time ago. They replaced it with the FM3, which is currently shipping to people on a waiting list. The FM3 is the same system as the Axe FX 3, which is newer, and it's also smaller.. The AX8 is the system of the Axe FX II, same system as this video, it's bigger than the FM3, and it also has more footswitches.

@@luxo5797 I have an answer for the hesitant FM3 and FX II XL+ I have the Fm3 and used it for 1 year I tested the sound it is FX II everything in tone not the III tone as many people understand Of course it has a new amp pedal Modern color screen, new chip, same as AXE FX III (except sound). I sold my FM3 not too long ago, and I got a used FX II XL+ for the same price. My friends wonder why they go back to choose old products, of course. FX II + runs much faster than FM3 and performs a lot of effects. I've never had a problem like the FM3, and I definitely love the Tone Macth in the FX II XL+. I don't need more updates. I'm happy. FM3 has a lot of limitations. It takes a long time to start up, several seconds, but AXE FX II XL+ takes only 4-5 seconds, please review, I definitely don't regret selling FM3, it's worth going to FX III in one way :)

YOU could play a broom through a toilet and still make it sound good. I play a III and it’s awesome. Even though it SOUNDS killer, I always hesitated to buy a II because it did not FEEL like the real thing. So yeah, the II is still good soundwise.

I just got thru testing all the new Multi-FX floor units on the market, and decided to keep my Axe II. It sounds as good as anything out there now. For a cover band player, like me, the Axe FX III is ~x100 overkill, so Axe II stays!
