excellent light hearted review, good to see and hope you heal up well F. I’ve got a Gladiator and done quite a bit. It has a HW 2300 540 and Flysky GT5 which is a great combo, vitavon portal covers f&r and a short Gens Ace 4300. With 50wt in all shocks i’d say it out performs my pals trx defender or is at least on par. Will be very interesting to see the head to head! oh also put the 1:7 reduction gears from axial in, top speed is now 3.4mph!
Yes! I took a different approach on this one and looked at it from the view of a prospective buyer. Still an honest eye but really giddy with anticipation for this cool offering.
First upgrades recommendations: Tires and dual stage foam 60wt shock oil Change the spring: Green rear and Yellow front Portal brass cover 2200mah battery in the front tray Enjoy it!
Thank you so much for making this video, I love this truck and it makes an amazing mudding rig when modified right. Keep bringing us this awesome content, I would love to see you make a mudding rig
The Scxiii Gladiator is another beast. With some upgrades you have very capable rig. I have a Gspeed rig and this Gladiator can follow some challenging lines, very impressed.
Nice review. Just got the same kit in grey. Was considering the short wheelbase JLU but got a good deal on the Gladiator. Will likely buy the JLU kit down the road. Subbed. Good content!
Ok I bought one as soon as my local got one in. It looks great. Performance is ok. Out of the box it doesn’t climb well, has horrible torque twist, body is a pain it the but to put back on. You will need a battery plug adapter if you have T style batteries ( Deans). Poor dig servo. The stock tires look nice but the stock foams are way too stiff. I put 50 w in my rear shocks. Fixed torque twist. Dig servo burnt up 3rd day I used. I replaced my tires with Proline Hyrax and added some old fashioned wheel weights. Now it crawls like it should. I removed all the inner fenders now body is a bit easier to put back on. Overall it looks good but the SCX10-2 out wheels the 3 right out of the box. Only reason I bought on is I have a real Gladiator Rubicon. My lightly modified Trailwalker still out wheels the SXC10-3’s.
Hey Francis, hope you're doing well, saw the bandage mate and wanting to check in and making sure all is well... Always appreciate everything you post. Epic channel that gives newbies and experienced RC'ers solid advice.. Got to look after your health though mate... Hope you're doing really well!
Thanks bud. I'm injured right now for 3 weeks. Knee is tore up and I can't even walk and rc. Trying to be cheerful though and to be a good patient. Appreciate it.
@@RCReviewChannel Take your time mate... healing is a slow process. Knee injuries suck.. take it slow. Being a Patient is ultra tough for us old schoolers.. I know I bark far too much. Ride the wave mate..gently.. heal up and take care of yourself!!
after watching your videos on axial scx10 ii and iii comparison, i decided to go with scx10 ii builder's kit since it was on sale for 200 CAD in amazon.
Can't wait to get it outside. The key key is it doesn't change exposure now and focus during a shoot. Also, the other camera, i never knew that it shut down while filming.
@@RCReviewChannel you should be able to use the 4th channel with ether of DX5 transmitters you just need to set it up in the 4th channel in the transmitter
Im a little lost ... 7:08 he explains why they made the Glad 13.9" wheelbase, and goes on to explain why the reasons where that they made it that length ... then 7:27 he then saiz im not sure why they had to go 13.9", and im not sure what the reasons are .... Wait? What? I cant wrap my head around that ...
the solution is to simply set the end points immediately which can be done with the dx3. I propose the sx107 is no worse than any other servo, it’s the lack of end point setting from factory that kills them.
My original dig servo (SX107) went up in smoke, only to discover that it was set up with direction of travel and end points not correct. Replaced with another SX107 given to me by my lhs where I bought my rtr from(good service, buy local) and got another for the 2 speed. Been using them a lot for a while now and they work great. Using a DX5C for the transmitter so I can have full functionality. Great review as always, your channel is where I go before I buy.
I want 1 of these but i like building my rc,so i am debating buying a kit and buying all the parts to make it a gladiator so i can make it my own,or i might just get this and change the body and motor, either way i have to get a body and motor so i bought them.lol
i wanted to buy the kit and turn it into a gladiator because i enjoy building kits, but i ordered a gladiator body because either way i need the body because i want to paint it a different color,i ended up buying an rtr at the hobby shop today though.
Try positioning the new Sony cam level to your chin. Right now it’s like is level to your chest and it shows the RCs too much sided instead of some top view. Also is looks up a bit. Try it. Other then that it’s awesome.
This thing is begging for a good brushless sit up and honestly I’m surprised one of these aftermarket companies hasn’t come up with some kind of gear say it or replacement transmission with a better to speed option
Yup. had a 3-week crash that will put me out for... 3 weeks. Normally have knee pads and protective gloves but since I was just riding with my wife all week so no knee pads. It was a little bit sad and I almost had to call a whammmmbulance. :)
Wooowww manches look girgeous and stunning, but its possible change for hard body with more detail like open Doors, turn on light frontal and reas. Im from Colombia i need this car with hard body detail can you please help me where i can get it . Its better if this can 1/6 scale. Appreciate you time and help please
For this body, no. This is a lexan body so options like opening doors are possible. And since this is a very unique wheelbase at 13.9 inches we don't think a hardbody for this will ever be made.
@@RCReviewChannel appreciate you quick answer , firstable my apology for my english and second need it 1/6 jeep wrangle hard body ready to run , so if you can help me where to purchase or if you build one for me and i pay for that just let me know . Thanks for you time
The body looks really good but still can't buy it because of the their stupid decision to not include both dig and two speed transmission automatically set up when you buy it. Plus its got a hobby king esc, really? This is coming from the "great" Axial company that so many supposedly love? This whole SCX10 iii is a joke to begin with. RC fans deserve better.
Does the Axial portal axles are stronger than those on the Trx-4? (As your video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HENaiQMJ89w.html) thanks
@@RCReviewChannel since you always compare everything to the defender than yah, but there's more modeling dont know why it has to be compared to the defender and not the bronco or blazer. Like how you guys compared the regular scx10III to the defender which made no sense to me because the defenders body weighs twice as much as the jeep body on the scx10III and you say it in the video when you say how much they weigh lmao.
There is no difference between this and the Jeep Wrangler. They are both SCX10 III except the wheel base is longer. The only thing better is probably the body. Sorry, the TRX4 is still the better in every aspects.
