We got over 12,000 views on the giveaway video short and 400 new subscribers I was really hoping to get this thing out the door by New Year’s this year but it looks like it will probably take until next Christmas lol
I was just doing work on my new SCX6 and found the ring had a wobble to it when turned that would cause it to be too loose at one point and way too tight 180 degrees around on the opposite side. I thought maybe it was faulty or bent somehow. Couldn't see how it could bend though. I ordered a new ring and pinion set and installed it. The wobble was even worse. It took a bit of cursing and investigating and what I finally found is that with no screws in the ring gear it would not sit flat on the inner "carrier". No matter what position I put the ring gear on the inner part it would rock side to side as I pushed down on it with my fingers. I checked the carrier and it spun and ran true so it was not the hub part. Where the fault was on both the original ring gear and the new ring gear was the inner diameter was a sharp 90 degree edge and this was hanging up on the inner surface of the carrier part. I used a 3/4" grinding tip for a drill (similar to a Dremel 941 grinding tip but larger) to chamfer the inner diameter of the hole in the ring gear where it seats on the hub. It didn't take much, such a small amount that it is hard to see the chamfer. Now it seats flat onto the hub and spins true in the differential with no wobble. As it turns out I didn't need a new ring and pinion I just needed to fix the problem. Now it is back in and shimmed with no play and no binding. Just a heads up for others that may run into this issue.
just got me a SCX6, the only thing i dont like is that the diffs are all locked, i wish the front was at least open diff or manual diff. not all fully locked
Is that the same oil or grease in the transmission I'm trying to regrease my transmission but all I have is dynamite marine grease can I use that or do I need special oil or grease for the scx6 transmission????
@ProNoobRC yeah I had to change out all the bearings in the entire rig cause 50% of them were frozen with rust so I installed the fast eddy bearings kit for the SCX6
@@ProNoobRC I dont dare hold it wide open in second gear and cutting it all the way to the left. Its not good. Im thinking axle shaft and im yet to take it apart and see. that is the next step before calling horizon.
Does anyone know exactly what Axial uses for their diff juice? Silicone based grease I'm guessing.. I just want the same stuff. Already broke a couple diffs on these things.... DO NOT RUN 6S and have a good time.... (you've been warned).
It’s either 500k or 1 million weight silicone oil. Lol 6s is a bit rowdy! A guy we run with on the weekends is packing a castle system on 8S. He’s jumped over me and left his rear tire burnout across my hood.
I think the actual grease getting put in the gears part got chopped out but less than a minute in I explain that we are swapping the silicone oil for Cow RC Udder Butter grease but I understand the confusion our bad! Peace and axle grease! Lol
Metal housings don't do that and is a huge recommendation. Plastic gets warn out and breaks to fast. Witch makes it unreliable in the long run. One roll the right angle and its broken just saying. Just saying not everyone wants to carry it let alone far lol.
In the state of commieforna everything causes cancer lol. Worst state in the country. Best landscapes worst for freedom. But thanks for the video. Have used your tips many times for things. I just got this truck so will probably have to do this.
I can drive 8+ hours through California and see all of 3 cops, and more than once seen them helping change tires & actually helping people. Drive through Arizona, Texas, or most other red states and there's a cop every other mile with someone pulled over for some petty 2mph over BS. As a trucker, I cover the entire lower 48. I can well above the speed limit in CA and cops pass me like I don't exist. Don't try that in any other state. In AZ the other day, there was 3 young teenage girls trying to change a flat tire, not 100 yards away was an AZ cop harassing a trucker instead of helping the girls. Freedom is more than what your political agenda tells you.
