Cool Rocks and Trails! Wish it was close to My House. I've ordered some hair donuts so I'll see how they work for myself. Thanks for the Video.

Thanks. I'm lucky to have some decent trails within 30 mins drive but this spot withing walking distance so is my local testing ground. I find 100mm perfect for 120mm 1.9's and 110mm for 2.2's

Looks like the hair buns worked to me! Interesting idea...you now have me looking around the house for stuff I can use...

Yep. They've also had a water test and no problems. I can buy them from local discount/£1 shops for......£1 each. 120mm ones would be a better fit for the 2.2's as I would need the EPP foam packer that's in there now

I can't give an informed opinion, even though I watch all your videos. They seemed to do fine, you went up a good selection of challenging routes 👍

I was pleased with the performance. I deliberately tried to run it slowly over the terrain as the Wraith is a bit more of a point and gas it model. There were only a few times that I needed to open the taps :-)

What would I type into eBay to get the correct ones. I couldn’t find them. I want to try them. Great video BTW!👍🙂

Try "Hair bun donuts" www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bun-Mesh-Hair-Style-Donut-Former-Ring-Bun-Maker/324388212870?hash=item4b870b5086:g:GgMAAOSw~xBfvQon but I found mine at discount chains in the UK. B&M Bargains for 80-100mm and Poundstretchers for 110mm it it depends which country you are in. Worth a looking the hair product aisle in your local Chemists etc. Here's a mates comparison test against Pro-Line Dual Stage foams ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0PjHkrXueQs.html

Quality video. Seem to work well. What your opinion on them mate??
@heady2008
@heady2008 4 года назад
Thanks Dan. Really happy at how they performed. They are not too soft so ok when side running. Maybe it's too early to say how they hold up but I'll do more testing and source some to try them in my 1.9 beadlocks

My d90 weighs 10 1/2 pounds so would hair donuts be any good?
@heady2008
@heady2008 3 года назад
You have too choices. You can either pack the tyres out with a larger size or add an inner ring of closed cell EPP packing foam. Easy enough to cut using two sharpened food/drink cans. Here's a mates video where he went for the larger size to fill the tyres on his heavy rig ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yMwhosy6Qyo.html

Foams looks like a bit too stiff/hard.
@heady2008

The hair bun donuts were actually softer than single stage foams that were installed before. At 99p each they were worth a try and they have the benefit of not rotting away when immersed in water. I now use them in all my crawlers
@algenkoenig
@algenkoenig 4 года назад
I am sorry, it's nothing special. And it doesn't outperform other foams. So i going to stick with common 2 stage foams
@heady2008

But at £4 for four and no water rot it's a bit of a no brainer

@@heady2008 I spent like 40Euro on Crazy Crawler closed cells .... then 6Euro on the hair donuts. They are just waaay better :D
@heady2008

@@elbutchos Closed cell foam tends to be too firm unless the rig is heavy. Mine are holding up well so far

@@heady2008 well I'm at 5.2kg now ... and didn't like how the closed cells behaved :(
