Looking for a review of the Axiom iron shaft? Watch this video for a breakdown of the Axiom iron shafts in 3 different weights to help you improve your golf game!
The Axiom iron Shafts are very low torque at the tip section, So I've compared them to the KBS C Taper 130X as the lowest torque steel shaft I could get my hands on to see how the Axiom Iron Shafts hold up against them!

great conent. been playing the 105s butt cut down -.5" since December. love these irons shafts. in my 2i-gw. 2i i went with the 105x.

@JD-kp8lo
@JD-kp8lo 25 дней назад
@@FredzGolf yeah i like a more penetrating srixon 2i so i went with something a little stiffer. i could easily play 105x in the main iron set as well but both flexes work well. Fuji did a great job. Basically all weight classes can work of a player. just depends on what that player wants. i could play the 125x too but i didnt want that weight profile.

Wish you would have put comparison to C-taper 130x lol. I’m going from the c-taper 130x to the axiom 105x (6-PW) then a 105s on the 4 iron. Your description was spot on with the c-taper. It’s a lot of work to hit a half shot with it. It’s an all or nothing shaft. Harsh on the hands/joints if you’re playing all the time and have mishits 😂
@FredzGolf
@FredzGolf Месяц назад
The C-Taper does well in fittings once someone is fired up and warm - numbers are good... then on the course it's not always a flat out shot in front of you so you're completely right I think!

@@FredzGolf i ended up swinging the c-taper after the axiom and felt like I was swinging a baseball bat with the weight difference.

Great video Freddie, I just had 105S installed into my Taylormade Stealths and used all your advice here to pick. I have the same miss left as you and have a very fast driver swing, but hate the board-like feeling of the X-stiff, like to feel the club loading a bit and seeing as you get the same benefits with no downsides, just went with the 105S. Got them dialed into D1. I didn’t realize but Taylormade says Stealths are stock D0/D1 off the rack, but when my club guy measured them, they were at C7. No wonder my miss was left 🙄 Moral: don’t believe manufacturer specs.
@FredzGolf
@FredzGolf 29 дней назад
Ooft C7!!! Mental how they can get that so wrong 🫣 I do see some awful specs in strange places 😬 onwards and upwards anyway ...let me know how you get on with the new shafts!!!

Thanks for sharing. I had a hassle with Titleist but Mizuno was much better. I think manufacturers should make heavier heads because 90g to 105g graphite shafts are the new standard for the average golfer and we still need D range swing weights. I'm excited for all the options and all the joints saved with graphite lol.

UPDATE - Approaching now 1 month in with the Axioms 105S installed on 6-PW. So I will say this, when you first switch from steel to graphite in your irons, you're going to lose distance and contact quality at first because the feel is different. It took me about 1-2 weeks of range sessions to acclimate to the new shafts because my swing tempo and even address needed to change a bit. It was a little disheartening leaving the range the first few times like "I can't hit irons anymore" 😞 but I knew it was just temporary and acclimating to the new gear. However, now that I've adjusted, the Axiom's are proving to be what they are marketed as which is that your left-right dispersion is much tighter, and I'm starting to love them. Couple things I noticed with the Axiom 105S's. 1) Tempo and transition is everything. While the 105S are stiff they are not unlimited stiff, and if you transition too hard at the top, the shaft will flex and you will get more shaft droop which will change your contact point. You'll need to have more of a Fred Couples type swing to hit the 105S's because if you go at these with a Bryson DeChambeau type swing, they will bend on you and you'll need to go to the X. 2) These shafts will expose your swing flaws - you get nothing for free with these shafts in terms of distance. I have TM Stealths on these which are stronger lofts and first thing I noticed was that my distances got 5-10 yards shorter on all clubs coming from the stock Dynamic Gold's. I regained the distance once I started turning back more in the backswing. I constantly have to remind myself that when I hit a short shot, it's because I didn't shoulder-turn enough in the backswing and got choppy. So my personal summary is this...Velocore in general, including the ones in my driver and woods, will tighten your dispersion, but at the cost of a little distance. That is because the shaft is not kicking as much which is what they are built to do, but your swing will need to adjust by turning back more. One more thing that I think is helpful, if you are considering the 125X's, just know that the true weight is closer to 132g, which is a considerably heavier. I think eventually Axiom will release a 115g because it's a large jump in dry weight between the two options.

@@JohnnyRad769 Interesting summary!! ...do you know what sort of spin rate you're getting with a 7 iron by chance? And with what type of ball? 🙃 There could be an easy crease to iron out 😁
@JohnnyRad769
@JohnnyRad769 3 дня назад
Hey@@FredzGolf, hope you're good bud. It think my 7 iron spin is around 5500-6000 last I checked, I hit outside since I live in Florida, but I should probably go re-check my numbers. For balls I use Titleist ProV1 and Tileist Velocity mostly. Thoughts?

Axiom 75S was closest to C Taper 130X for you? That's insane.
@FredzGolf
@FredzGolf 3 дня назад
In data, yes, but not in feel :) ....A larger pool of data would generally be more fades/right with the C Taper as it's so much heavier ...Once you use the same shaft for a while you dial in to the feel of it.. while I'm flicking from one to another constantly, with such a difference in weight, I'm battling the feels each shaft presents :) but yes, quite close in launch! The Axioms play stiffer than they say

Cant decide between 105s and 105x. I play 1" long $ taper 130x now and i cant get the face closed easy at all and its just to damn heavy plenty of spin and height. My 4iron from 220 will dead stop. Swing speed is about the same as yours maybe a touch higher. Im 6'5. Whats your thougts on the 105s vs 105x?

@dustinmashburn3498 105s. I wanted the x but the place I bought them from had me ship my clubs in to install the shafts. And they were out of the x. So they hardstepped the 105s. Still getting used to. I enjoy hitting them. I gained distance , swinging easier, smoother and my spin lowered which I needed. Pretty happy. Soft but stable. Much easier on the body as well.

I have to know. Did you install the Axiom shafts? Or were they sent to you already installed in the Srixons?
@bigrobbins55
@bigrobbins55 Месяц назад
The reason ask, I understand every Axiom shaft has been PUREd and the graphics on the iron are put on based upon the SST alignment. Every person I’ve seen that uses the axiom shaft has the Velocore logo running down the back of the iron (facing the golfer). You have the Velocore logo installed facing to the right or facing away from the target. Doesn’t that matter?

I've had a few people like yourself ...I think the 105S is just as stable and so much easier to use ...Could go 105X if you go flat out most of the time - 105S makes the half shots a lot easier to produce and no drawbacks as far as I can tell when stepping on it
