Clover seems to feel very strongly about the other humans. It makes sense knowing Clover did jump into Mt. Ebott look for these kids. They even aimmed their gun at Asgore the moment he revealed the human souls to Clover. We see that Clover straight up final smashed Axis when it was revealed he killed one of the kids; which up to this point, Clover had no indication that any had died.
One thing that makes me think, the Missing poster has the 5 of them in the same frame, maybe they were family? Friends? who knows, but I don't think that doesn't mean anything, maybe one jumped in, the other went to find the other, etc etc... That would explain why Clover was so angry at Axis, maybe they were friends. (Also would explain why Clover sacrified themselves at the ending of True Pacifist, thats what the others did, they all saw the true nature of the Monsterkind, they all thought they had to be saved)
@@beywheelzhater8930that is literally the first thing I thought of when I saw this. just that one meme of everyone just walking up to that guy and just screaming "SUPER LASER PISS"
i remember my mouth being open from the shock then getting ticked off.. i then jokingly said "clover it be really cool if you shot axis with ur determination or justice bullets this sucks" AND THEN FUCKING CLOVER DOES **THAT** honestly that truly was a clover moment..
Same I was like "Oh hell naw Clover you CAN'T let this slide" and then Clover's soul begins shaking as it gains LOVE as if it heard me. One of the best moments of the genocide route.
undertale yellow's animations seriously helped with the brutality, jesus christ i did not need to see axis splitting down from the middle like a peeled metal banana nor did i need to see flowey fall face first on the floor after having most of his body blown off shot after shot
@@3DFella listen you judgemental little prick i literally play paint the town red and people playground, one of which is a bloody "beat literal chunks out of people" simulator and the other being a gory sandbox game with god-knows-how-many-ways to kill people in it and if youre going to mock undertale fans maybe you should first private the undertale and deltarune vids you have on your channel, thats like going "tawog fans proving theyve never seen any other parodies in their life" while making nothing but tawog content
"Throughout Surface and Underground, I alone am the just one. Take the soul and the gun, then combine these two different aspects to push out a destructive ray of revenge. Imaginary Technique: Yellow."
honestly id love seeing the souls reactions post genocide route in yellow i can imagine some of them would have a liittle bit of a problem with how clover went about things to rescue them
@@Sailforseen1997 Mr. Clown here ready to tell you how i, Mr. Clown, made a joke you didn't get, honk honk. (In case you didn't notice this comment is a joke, sshhhh)
I feel so bad for AXIS though, his whole creation was formed out of revenge and then later he was dumbed down and made to forgot what he was forced to do by killing that human in cold blood.
exactly. sure Axis hasn't made the best decisions, but i don't get why "i was forced and i didn't want to do it" isn't good enough. in my eyes, Axis didn't deserve what was done to them, and unless someone can explain to me in a civil manner why Axis still deserves what they got, my mind's set.
@@exar4444Clover has an insanely warped sense of Justice by that point. I think all he really registered was that Axis was responsible for a human's death -- the reasoning behind it didn't really matter to Clover.
I chose to do Vengance / Genocide route first because I knew of Clover's fate. I didn't want them to die at the end so I thought maybe if I got strong enough I would be able to beat asgore. Little did I know that I'd go all "I'M FIRIN MAH LAZOR" on him and proceed to liberate the fallen human souls and live to see the daylight of the surface again. It felt good escaping fate.
I loved how Clover in the geno route began just doing things on his own like killing Flowey or OBLITERATING Asgore without any warning and just took control of the entire narrative so even the player needs to follow his directions (*wrong way(...) ) it is so cool! The ending of yellow geno route is also much more grey than in Undertale, where Frisk actually just turned pure evil.
@funnylittlecreature what edit: Nah you ain't gettin away from this their original comment was something along "He? Who are you talking about, Flowey? Clover uses They/them" schlawg got offended on behalf of a virtual character 😭
@@funnylittlecreatureAccording to the UTY tumblr account, and i quote "Clover is referred to with They/Them throughout the game, however the specifics of their gender is left to personal interpretation"
Clover literally let everything out at that moment, kid was just keeping all that rage in for the perfect time to use it, can´t imagine how good it must have felt to get all that out of your system.
In terms of its story and progression, I agree. But gameplay wise I find it lacking, SPOILERS BELOW!!! But the ending of it when you fight Martlet is... Really disappointing. Obviously I'm glad Sans didn't show up for it but I just, don't understand. Not only did Martlet take me 45 minutes to fight because most of her attacks are unreadable to start, which obviously can be said about Sans as well but, at least after fighting Sans I can confidently do his fight. Martlet just, ugh, I don't like her fight, which I also say about a number of fights. Story wise, I love the game, but there's way too much I can say about the gameplay that really makes it hard for me to continue enjoying it.
Yeah like, it’s not about bringing justice through figuring out what happened to these kids and who did it to them, it’s acting as judge, jury, and executioner by attacking everyone on sight just like the humans were.
This moment was hype as fuck in game. While the Geno run is still extreme, the fact it has purpose in Yellow as opposed to OG Undertale makes it badass and cathartic in places. Plus, it has the dual meaning, or rather grayness of meaning with Justice the way Undertale has with Determination. Although unless I'm misremembering, the Justice leitmotif doesn't appear outside of Geno route. I could just be misremembering though. Moments like this with Axis make me wish I could still get the ending and cathartic parts while sparing some folk. Like Starlo, Ceroba, Martlet, and the most important ones of all: Dunebuds.
The dunebuds were some of the only monsters that made me feel bad when I was killing them. They just look so sad and confused when you hurt them. They just wanted someone to play with and now they're dying.
@@kozolith2121 Same, another monster that made me feel horrible during genocide is Martlet. Despite being misinformed, she still only decided to ACTUALLY try to kill Clover as a last resort, and she didn't even want them to experience pain during the first fight - she decides to stop fighting when she finds out how much attacks hurt, after all. And when she's dying at the end of the final fight, you can tell she's in so much pain - both physical and mental - yet she still just wants to avenge her fellow fallen monsters, even to the bitter end.
@@kozolith2121El Bailador also broke my heart, he just wanted to dance and he looked so sad when he realized you didn't want anything to do with that 😭
@@traumatizedDumpster That probably would have made me feel sad too if it weren't for the fact that I absolutely hated his fight (I'm terrible at rhythm games and had to shoot him in my first run to skip the finale attack). Though I didn't encounter him in geno because I grinded every room till the x showed up, so the encounters ran out.
@@knucks5793 respect your opinion too. at first i did have a hard time with the genocide route, but the more i play it,the more i got better at Undertale Yellow. the genocide route is my favourite because of less events in the game, less boss battles...but the boss battles are even more epic than ever and Clover is an absolute menace in the genocide route,my guy leveled up on his own. Also the genocide route is the "good" ending for Clover since he gets the 5 humans souls and gets to see the surface again.
honestly it makes a lot of sense given that Clover has a soul of Judgement; While he does want retribution on all of monsterkind in the genocide route, he doesn't really know who exactly had a part in the humans deaths. Then Axis comes along and just straight out tells him "yeah I killed a human", Clover would of felt completely Justified hitting him so hard it'd put Goku to shame.
I love even with this scene and the entire Marlet fight that unlike the OG Game's genocide route- Yellow's Geno route is- *actually justifiable.* Even if it isnt the best ending for the world- its the only route where Clover [a LITERAL child] survives the onslaught of the Underground
Axis: I am sorry! I didn´t mean to kill your friend! I only did because I was programmed too! Clover: ...What... *lvls up to 19 through sheer rage* Flowey: That´s it Clover! Embrace your inner Star Lord and blast him to smithereens! The real Star Lord will be so proud. Star Lord: Indeed I am :´)
as someone who knows how fucking creepy nyctomatter undetale/deltarune animations go i would not be suprised if nyctomatter makes some sort of amalgamate kanako.
Clover: Take determination and justice, incorporate those expressions of malice into your soul and push out a vengeful mass. "Soul Magic Technique: Yellow"
i just fucking find it funny how clover just annihilates the fuck out of axis using their big ass beam when axis says he killed a person 😭😭 like my ass just laughed bro i feel so bad
Man was disrespected throughout the entirety of the Geno run. I felt bad for the man, though it's hard when he kills me over 20 times. For Martlet, though.....
I know Undertale is famous for the whole "tragedy of monsterkind", but it feels like too often they just want you to surrender your soul so they can go forth and destroy humanity, because remember, Asgore declared war when his son was killed. Clover is simply following rules of engagement. In their eyes, monsterkind's hands are no cleaner than theirs. It may be an eye for an eye, but sometimes, that's Justice.
@@KwikBRand you're right with child murderers and the destruction of a human kind man woman child. At least with clover he doesn't care unless you attack him
@@KwikBRand experimenting on children even in death they couldn't rest. Where you think they got determination from just so they can experiment on their own kind the monsters aren't made of love
@@jimmy7249 are you forgetting that the humans killed the son of the king and literally locked them in a cave for eternity? that's way worse then killing 7 people, and if you don't think so your morals are skewed.
"It broke my heart to put that tumor in her head..." (Axis is referring to when chujin told him to hint down one of the humans after they almost hurt kanako) ". . . What. . ." (I'm assuming this clover didn't see the secret disc or they would've known already) "N-No- Alright, I know that sounds bad-" (Clover increases LV from 12 to 19 due to a "rage boost" , giving the ability I am gonna call the "BIGGEST SHOT" as he shoots straight through Axis, ending chujin's last piece of work.... permanently....) This actually looks amazing though, you're a absolute goat for making this, also- truly a clover moment 💛
Sans: LV is an acronym which stands for LOVE. which is another acronym. Level Of Violence. the more you want to kill/hurt. the more your LV goes up.
