I just realized why I love this skit so much: it's kind of like the musical version of Jenga. You want to see how many songs they can stick in there before it falls apart.
+lllllGreenDaylllll It's really hard to hit this when you before the show don't make a voice preparation. Too high.... Jordan missed first note too. :D
This is probably my favorite vid with this song on it, by just simply watching the people in the room behind. 3 then 5 then 4 then 6 then they all start rocking out to their favorite song of the medley... ladies and gentlemen, if you have ever wondered why people get into music or the performing arts, that is it. The smile on a face, a tapping foot, lighters in the air, tears streaming down faces. That is it!
Not suitable for radio * rolls eyes * When did people turn into such a bunch of whiny cry babies and why did it happen. I'll never fucking understand the censorship.
I still find it funny that if you think about it you can basically say that any four chord song within the realm of a major scale is about 1 out of 21 times going to be transposable translatable or some other movement to the same chords.
We did something like this at my choir this morning, but it was in a easier key, and we made it up as we went along, and we were singing them over each other (e.g. I was singing hey soul sister whilst my friend sang take on me, and another sang titanium)
Popular music is just a music formula that every artist uses to have hit singles so they can push their albums. It's played in the same key because we're so used to hearing the same keys that most things we hear in that tune sounds good to the general public. Originality in pop music can never be successful because we're being played.
many song writers have known this for a long time and have exploited it. Axis have exposed it and are not the first to discover it. There are other common chord progressions that use only three chords rather than 4. Have used this 4 chord progession myself and worked out this common pattern many years ago but used it to write my own song as many and most songwriters have done. Talent lies in making something new and original out of it.
I don't know the chords, but the right hand on the piano goes E and B, B x4, F# and B, B x4, E and B, B x4 and C# and A, A x4. But I also know that all these songs fit in C, G, Am, F, which is a really to play on guitar and piano.
He can nail it, watch a live video or something to see it, It's a hard note to reach so getting that close is still quite impressive. Hey, i guess you don't congratulate someone for coming second.
TBH; if we ever face extratrerestrial contact and have to form a World-Hymn to represent our Planet... it will be written on those 4 chords, anything else would just not be right.
That's exactly 2 notes down from the standard G D Em C. If it were D A Bm G like Mr. Lee claims it would not transpose into those four chords like it should. As such, you're probably right.
After a while it’s clear they have the same chords, but the melody (The hardest part sung) is totally diffract. So what’s their point? You have to hand it to them they are buskers who hit the big time with this one point.
