Cut-Rate Commander - Episode 77 - Featuring Ayara, Widow of the Realm from March of the Machine #mtg #commander #edh #mtgmom #mtgmachine
It appears that the Phyrexian Invasion has reached Eldraine and, unlucklily for the plane, the entirety of Locthwain has been compleated - including its ruler Ayara - and have turned against all the other courts - all to eager to crush them under their heel with newly converted knights and powerful magics.
In this build, we'll being primarily focusing on Ayara's back face - Ayara, Furnace Queen - aiming to use her ability to reanimate any creature in our graveyard for free per turn to cheat into play big and impactful reanimation targets and then sac them away before they exile themselves to be used again. As such, we'll be running plenty of ways to dump reanimation targets into our bin to set up our commander, as well as means to sac them away to generate us value - as well as a huge number of reanimation targets with large stat-blocks and powerful ETB/Death effects for us to take advantage of turn after turn. The coupled with ways for us to create temporary clones of our reanimated creatures to get even more copies of them into play for us - our opponents shall fall along with the other courts under our relentless assault from beyond the grave.

They revealed an Eomer Boros card from the Rohan precon. Can you brew a go wide humans deck that flickers Eomer to deal direct damage to players?

Love how well you focused on her backside in this build while still taking advantage of her front ability while youre working your way up in the deck's curve. Was wanting to build her in a way where there are 2 to 3 themes and not spread thin across her possibilites, so this is perfect reference, aweosme stuff:)

Gaslight, Graverob, Girlboss. Truly, an amazing deck for these principles! Amazing job as always! Also hey, my boi Quint won the poll! He sure deserves it! Can't wait to see the spice we get from his deck tech! Day 658 of waiting for the Grazzet face reveal. I wonder how many people here not only watch Grazz... but also touch Grazz? OK, that pun was horrible, never doing it again. That said, got any plans for more series and such? Since I remember those being suggested a while ago.

Glad you enjoyed it and, as always, your support is always appreciated! And yeah, Quint ended up taking the top spot - so I hope you enjoy the brew I'm working on for him coming soon! Regarding new series - while the spirit is willing, the body is weak. Sadly, between IRL responsibilities and the current release schedule, there aren't enough hours in the day for me commit to another regular series at this time. Maybe the occasional "Extra Episode", but not a full series. That said, as the channel grow and becomes more viable as a main source of income.... that may change. But we'll just have to see if we get there!

Dusk Mangler is a really great, budget reanimation target. Especially if you’re getting multiple of them every turn like this deck could

I went very similar but focused on the front side for targeted damage. Lots of token copy and ETB abuse, with similar reanimation. Jaxis, Mimic vault, feldon, chainer, Palace siege, oversold, etc

I pulled an Ayara from my box and wasn’t sure what to do with her, but this deck tech has given me loads of ideas. I might combine it with the Mishra deck for a more artifact creature focused build.

Played with this with some of the upgrades and sidegrades tonight. Worked really well and was brutal for my opponents. I would like to see more protection for the commander though, but that is a general thing i find lacking in most decks.

Glad that it worked well for you! Regarding protection, I can certainly see that being a factor for us to build up on, especially if your group is keen on removing commanders frequently. At a glance, since the base build is already removal heavy, I would say swapping Terminate for Swiftfoot Boots & Bedevil for Blessing of Leeches would be a solid start to making our commander a bit harder for our opponents to interact with without changing the builds mana curve or price too much - then from there we can terraform Shadowblood Ridge into Tyrite Sanctum for the ability to make Ayara indestructible for the land slot as well. Hope that helps!

I'm a simple fellow. I see new content from Grazzet, I click on it and enjoy. * *kicks back* * As for MOM commanders, Quintorius is the first that comes to mind with big spells and token generation. (Edit) But they are the top pick from the poll! In that case, Borb and Fblthp would be my next choice even though they've been in a poll. Top choice for Aftermath is Rocco, hands down.

Yep, Quint was able to claim the top spot this time around - so look forward to a build featuring him coming soon - and there is certainly a chance that we'll see Borborygmos and Fblthp get a second chance at the polls and Rocco, Street Chef get their first chance on it in the future (though in Rocco's case, we may want to wait until the LotR is out so we get all that nice food support for them to take advantage of)!

I'm not surprised Wurmcoil is a suggested upgrade, that card has earned an honest reputation. A few other cards I might suggest are morbid curiosity for extra card draw, and grave titan as an upgrade option that rapidly swells your board as it etb's and cracks in over and over. Strionic Resonator can copy Ayata's ability for disgusting value as well. Edit: Spelling.

Cool deck list. I had been interested in building her but i get worried about the mana investment. If you pay 3 to cast and the 5 to flip it and it gets removed, you are out a lot without any value.

Surprised sneak attack is not listed in the upgrade section, an enchantment that lets us cheat creatures into play with haste for 1 red before saccing them end of turn seems perfect for what this deck is trying to do.

I am loking for a sacrifice deck because this theme looks fun but there is a hard desicion. Both this deck and your Ziatora deck is and I am not able to make a decision :D What are the pros and cons between these decks? I feel the Ziatora is slower and there is a biger focus on the commander. I am a beginner and kind a hard figure out what is my playstyle.I would be greatful if there is any tips! Thx in advanced!

I'd love if the back side could do both. Reanimate the creature. Attack for damage. Then sacrifice them for ping to face. Then do it again next turn.

i have a chainer deck, meeh never been that good, chainer is ok but is not so abusable. i was thinking of changing it to ayara but i dont know, chainer might still be better

In my opinion, they are both good at different things. Chainer is better at permanently reanimating creatures from the bin to build up the boardstate and crack in with them without having to worry about brining them back over and over again, while Ayara can only reanimate temporarily but does so for free - allowing us to cheat high cmc creatures that Chainer would be unable to reanimate himself and favor more ETB, on attack, and on death payoffs (provided we have the means to sac the creatures she summons before she exiles herself). It all depends on what playstyle works better for you.
