Following the success story of you 2 going from the outhouse and on the path to the Penthouse has been half of the fun for me. I just finished watching the "Best Frozen Pizza" episode. Up here in Canada, you'd be very lucky to find a frozen pizza for under $6. I can't fathom frozen pizza costing only $2 - $4.
Going out of state or hitting the reservation for stuff is 100% the same as duty free in other places. The northern countries in Europe it's big since taxes are really high. You'll see lots of people buy the maximum (5 cases of beer) and roll it out on a dolly.

For the record, I've noticed a difference between 1 day and 2 days of a drink in the fridge, after 2 days the marginal amount of 'colder' the drink becomes (if at all) typically reaches an asymptotic behavior on a graph, which for some older fridges may be up to 1 week of time required to reach that phase of chilling as far as a change in its trend on a graph of its temp, but unlikely

The closest I've been to getting run over was when I was about 12 years old, my friends mom thought I was in the car. I wasn't, I was only halfway in and she started driving. So there's me outside in front of the school hobbling on one leg for about a block trying to jump in the car. I couldn't even say anything cause all I could think about was how my hands kept slipping off anything I would try to grip on to. Eventually my buddy yells "mom stop!" She looks back and goes "oh my god! I'm so sorry" I'm all "ah don't worry about it" After driving in silence for about ten minutes, we all broke out in laughter. Is that trashy?

Duty free is awesome. They carry certain brands of liquor, such as collector whiskies that you can only find there. I got some Glenfiddich select cask which are sold in liters. If you buy that outside you’re paying top dollar because somebody bought it there and re-sold it on the Internet. Also, they have special casks that they only sell there and you can get bottles of Johnny Walker blue label for like 30% off with no tax. In my book it’s top notch because you could save a couple hundred if you spend on the high-end stuff.
Purposely leaving the sticker on a gift definitely seems trashy. If you wanna give them the opportunity to return or exchange something you either hold on to the receipt or get a gift receipt and leave it in the bag. In my opinion you take the tag off because you’re either sparing them shame so they’re not pressured to get you a gift of equal value or sparing yourself shame for how little you spent on their gift
