Ok, couple of reactions mentioning Marcela Bovio, so here's a shameless plug by me: she is releasing an EP with her new project Dark Horse White Horse (progressive metal). There are two vids out there for that EP: Black Hole (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LSDiFH0Ok1M.html ) and Judgement Day (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BwZNwmbwXRU.html). The last song deals with her feelings after hearing she got cancer (thank God she recovered from that).

Marcela is shredding! I hear her crystal clear when ALL of them sing combined. She is objectively in my opinion, the most talented - and I do not even consider her a favourite at all, but I will give her that credit.

She's a professional musician with hundreds of live performances, so I'm going to assume she knows what she's doing. This was cleaned up in post-production for the DVD, after all, so what we're hearing is what Arjen intended.

Also, for me the biggest heroes of this show are three ladies as back vocals (Irene Jansen, Marcela Bovio and Lisette van der Berg) Other vocalists pop here and there while these three just do their thing during the whole concert.

She shines even more together with Anneke and Floor perform ‘The Valley of the Queens’. She sung that song years before (together with her younger sister) in Arjen’s ex-band ‘Stream of Passion’

This song was written after Arjen saw the movie Stargate Marcella solo: out in the real world by Stream of Passion. Or same song in The second Ayreon live concert. Don’t forget the rest of the second live concert: The electric castle live and other tales.

Yes, the Star One albums (which are not part of the Ayreon cycle as such, but still Arjen's project) have songs inspired by various sci-fi movies - the most recent album focuses on time travel movies for instance, with songs inspired by Bill & Ted, Terminator etc.

You should try to watch some "Stream of Passion" videos from the "Live in the real world" concert. Marcela Bovio on violin and vocals, her sister on backing vocals, Arjen Lucassen on guitar. Marcelas talent is INCREDIBLE! Her backing vocals during the whole concert are insane, they are super operatic during the "ride the comet" performance. But still Mike Mills alias Toehider is my ayreon hero musician. Maybe you can check out his live version of his song "whatever makes you feel superior"he got on his channel. Hes just showing off his talent :)

This was the closing song on the Universe concert, which is why literally all of the guests came back onstage for the grand finale. And in case you're curious about Arjen's voice, he also sang co-lead on Amazing Flight In Space during that same show! He also sang lead on several songs in the Electric Castle Live shows of 2019.

Interesting note on the genetic component of a voice I hadn't really thought about for singing. Kind of explains how good the Jackson 5 and other big sibling groups sound singing together.

If you want to attend an Ayreon concert you have to have a lot of patience, maybe 1 weekend every 2 years (if you are lucky) that there is one and then you also have to get a ticket (the two previous times the tickets were sold out in half an hour)

Arjen sings in this concert but only on An Amazing Flight in Space where he plays his space hippy from Electric Castle! I think it might be his eponymous song ...I very much thinks he sees himself as the hippie in space :D

Good luck with going to an Ayreon concert. Apparently there will be a few around september 15th in 2022. But you have to be quick on getting tickets... Really quick... Btw. More Marcela please... You got the choice: MaYaN, Dark Horse White Horse, Stream of Passion or her solo works. Amazing singer and such a lovely person.

That high-voice in the finale's harmony that Marcela is producing is part of the original harmony from 2014's "Star One The Eye of Ra" concert, Floor was singing the high notes in the original. Of course it was not as epic of an ending there, with only the base band on stage, without all the other singers of Ayreon. But what was epic in that 2014's concert was the long s-s-straight like a line note produced by Damian Wilson in the beginning of this song, if here he sustained it for 8-ish seconds, back in 2014 it was whole 12.

Marcella is such an unsung hero of the genre. She beat ovarian cancer last year, I think. Arjen did a solo project with her as the main (only?) vocalist. Stream of Passion. Check it out. I'm surprised a blackhole didn't emerge there on stage from all that massive talent there. HOLY JEEBZ.

Please more Marcela, do the Monster take, next to the Christmas tree. Somewhere in the middel there is a very long note, going up and down a bit. This note, I call a cry. The song is about the record company, how they became a monster, but the layer beneath is that Mexico, or more the criminals in Mexico have become a monster with all the killings. In this long note she does a vocal movement that sounds to me very Hispanic/Mexican. So my interpretation is that with the length and strength of this cry she is telling how bad it is and with the special vocal effect she points at Mexico. I am not a vocalist and if my interpretation is wrong please tell me your vision.

If i remember correctly, He does Dio "tribute" shows. I've seen him do one at the Rock cafe bar stage at Graspop festival in 2019. (Same festival Ayreon played in 2018)

Definitely Marcela! She did a great cover (!?) with MaYan of monolith of doubt by after forever! I have the feeling it's just Marcela, Lisette, Damian, Tommy, Mike And Anneke with complete full open mic In the end.. Michael Mill the Australian Singer Watch carefully he is hitting the really high notes and he's a dude lol! But really check out other Ayreon songs and you'll see how high this man can hit almost ear piercing.
