Azealia Banks is passionately criticising the appropriation & denigration of black culture, summed up presently by ‘runaway slave master’ Iggy Azalea & ‘shoeshining c**n’ T.I., in the context of other tensions such as Mike Brown, Eric Garner and Bill Cosby.
I've had to disable comments due to criminal speech. Some people just aren't getting it. Azealia is NOT saying white people aren't allowed to rap. She's making a wider point. Yes, slavery ended over a century ago, but look at the recent evidence. All the civil rights leaders have been assassinated. Not killed. Assassinated. Gun crime in black neighbourhoods has actually decreased year on year, yet Fox News & white media reporting of minority gun crime has increased 400%. Every other video on liveleak is a white cop with his knee on some black boy's neck, and then the person on the camera is assaulted without provocation. White on black racism is still, even to a white european like me, obviously a huge problem in the US - and now you've got this horrendous racist Iggy (she's been caught out countless times, quit defending her) coming over appropriating whatever she likes to make money, and having the gall to throw in the 'runaway slave master' lyric? No, sorry, fuck off. Rap adores Eminem because he gave & added just as much (if not more) to the culture than he took. Iggy's career needs taking down, and full credit to Azealea Banks for highlighting it.
