these are acctually really useful, id also like to see more into the process of how you made your own timelapse, because i really like the worldbuilding and character all of the countries had.
Thank you! Part 5 of my tutorial series attempted to address my approach to timelapses. Let me know, though, if you'd like to see more beyond what I covered there.
Actually a small video going over different map making programs would be pretty useful for those that do not know many of them in the first place. Not going into high depth about the programs, but glossing over why you like them and the pros and cons of them. I've watched all your videos and you've been able to make my home campaign world for my D&D group possible feel that much more alive. I also run a D&D discord server that uses this map ( around 150 people or so ) and I can speak for them as they really appreciate it. So I give thanks to you and Azgaar.
I appreciate it! Honestly I don't use many other map-making tools due to my investment into Azgaar's program. However, I can certainly see about doing one on those that I know.
very good content! i was making basic maps on azgaar and i found your video! also, in your 300 sub update, you asked about other games you should record. i wpuld consider playing civilization 6
Hey man great video you have helped me alot but can you show us if there is any way to remove a country because it always seems to leave the capital there. Thats all!
A state remains with at least its capital until it has been deleted from the States menu tab. Under Tools -> states, there should be a trashcan icon next to all states with the option to delete them. Thank you for your interest!
Thank you so much. In my D&D the heroes are going on various missions as a part of a mercenary army and it helps when they can see the map aswell. Also i subcribed because i think you are doing a great job and you deserve. Goodnight 👋
Hey I just found this tool, making a map of my own. Quick question, once you manually set the urban vs rural population in a state, is there an easy way to redistribute them among the settlements in a way that makes sense? I have things like nomadic orc states I want to have few settlements but large amounts of roaming population, and the opposite in human kingdoms. After I set my Rural and Urban population though it didn't seem to change the populations in the cities of that state.
@@DystruktoBoi1 so sorry for the delay - and I think I recall that you asked in the discord already (or at least someone had a similar question) - and nevertheless this question would be better addressed there because there's a few ways to go about it and would require some screenshots to demonstrate
I'm a bit late here but how do you download the program? according to my friend there used to be a download button on the web application but now there's not, and everything on the github is really confusing to someone who doesn't know anything about programming (like why do I need a local server to run this?)
I believe the download button is only available on Chrome Web Browsers. If you still don't see it, let me know or ask in the discord. Alternatively you can just download the GitHub and you can ignore all the files except for the file titled "index" which will start the program, and also the file to start the server. I cannot at the moment check to see which files starts the server.
There are several ways but none will keep the data of all maps you combine. Easiest way is to draw in the new land you want via heightmap editor. Another way it to compile the images of all maps in a photo editing program, and then use the image import tool.
Sounds like a bug, as the result you're getting is the result of using the "erase" heightmap option. Apologies for the delay, and I would encourage joining the discord for a more detailed look at how this is happening.
Thank you so much for your tutorials! Is there an option to add another map (heightmap would suffice)? So for example I create a map with a continent. Now my campaign progresses and - of course, how could I forget! - beneath the sea is a second continent. How would I add that to my map without destroying my existant one?
You may want to try a few different tricks depending on what you're going for. When adding maps together, there is no way to preserve the exact data as it is due to the nature of the voronoi cells. One approach is to simply add in the new continent via editing the heightmap (use Risk option - and save beforehand!) to the best of your abilities. The original map's data should be completely preserved but might regenerate some stuff if your options are set to anything but 0. Alternatively, you can take images of both maps (preferably images of the heightmap) and edit them together using an image software like Paint or Photoshop. Then you can reimport them via image converter - but neither map will have any of the data of their previous iterations.
Lakes work the same way as ocean in heightmap editing, simply decrease elevation below sea level in the middle of a landmass and it will be recognized as a lake
I have a question: why your Burg preview by Watabou show using the Vivid preset? My is always showing the Default color scheme (shades of gray) -- I would love to have all using a colorful preset like you
When you set those settings on Watabou's site, it reflects on Azgaar's. There is some correlation between the two via browser memory, so it may not always work.
You can export as png, svg, or jpg that you can upload to a website. If you intend to embed it to keep it interactive, it may require some html/JavaScript coding on your end, and I am currently not super sure how to do that
