I just got the maple bluetooth version of this keyboard. The packaging was the same and everything. Simply Beautiful. I love it! It comes with pc and Mac key caps so you can switch them out. And they are so easy to switch out!
I wish more people would give Jake VonSlatt the credit he deserves for pioneering these types of keyboards. At least you mentioned Datamancer when you talked about it.
any developer here who have used this keyboard? Coding 8-9 hours a day i would like to know how they feel; i currently use a Microsoft BT keyboard which i currently love but i live how this looks.
Okay review. But in my opinion you did not include what other nonpayed reviewer did, as I see as a very important Factor. The makers of the keyboard did send Them over to you, does that mean you Got payed to do this review? Always makes a good examble to your viewer by saying that, so people Can understand if something isn’t being Said. That Can only cause backfireing in my opinion. Only reason I’am not sub’ing ‘yet’. Many others included that the keyboard does require a learning curve, due to the round keys + they are therefor a bit closer aswell. Or at least that it was Many reviewers experience, because of the round Keys. They therefor experience, that they hit more than one key very often by a mistake. That is for me a very important Factor. The look is awesome Though. And great materials as you said yourself. Good review non the less. 👍
I loveeeee this keyboard but want to use it for gaming - I'm not competitive on a serious level but do like playing some competitive ranked games for pleasure - do you think I would still enjoy using this keyboard? :))
Hi there Just got the retro classic and was not being able to switch the backlit mode on my iMac. I wasn't being able to find any information on that even on Azio website.
I've had my retro classic for a year and still love it. It has a very tight feel. I use Windows but have the same problem with the backlit mode. As I recall I called Azio and was told the backlit mode is not switchable on the bluetooth models. The reason being you're running on battery power and the back lights power down after a certain number of seconds. Even if you use the cable the mode remains the same.
But I desire the heft of a typewriter, that weight which has been bred OUT of most tech was completely necessary in the case of typing machines. A flimsy plastic board sliding all over the place while I type is absurd💁♂️
People have different preferences. I got the keyboard and love the sound, and though it doesn't sound exactly like soundcloud.com/vsg-3/azio-retro-classic-bt-with-azio-typelit-switches which was the sound I originally wanted, instead sounding closer to what we hear at the end of this video or ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9kKTMeQPqMI.html and ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-G8URfxLzGKg.html, it still has this fundamental and wonderful, deeper "tchk" quality that I enjoy and vastly prefer over the higher-pitched "click" you usually hear with Blues. A big factor rather may be in the acoustic qualities of the keycaps and the chosen board materials, making for this deeper sound which I prefer.
i wonder how much you got paid to make this. it sounds like you really love this keyboard maybe even a bit too much. definitely doesn't sound like a typewriter though it's not loud enough.
I bought a used one on eBay for like $50, it was missing a few key caps but I contacted Azio and they sent me replacements free of charge. It's definitely a really cool keyboard and worth it, I would definitely pay $219 if I needed another one
I saw somewhere that they have color typewriter. I can’t remember where I saw it. I love typewriter than regular keyboard. I used with typewriter at jr high school. I’m an old fashion way sorry lol
Genuine leather is like, the worst leather only marginally better than synthetic leather and in some cases, worse. They should have used full or top grain leather. Genuine leather is not what it sounds like -- the pattern is pressed into the leather material to give it that texture.
I just got my BT version today after returning the USB one. In case anyone is wondering, the USB (only) key board is only compatible with Windows and not for iOS. For the most part it'll work but you will lose some essential keyboard functions like copy and paste as well as the F Keys.I reordered the Bluetooth which also has the option to be used as a USB keyboard and indicated on my purchase that I have iOS. They popped the keys out and delivered it to me already set up to be functional with my iMac desktop which is awesome. Great product and sound for any writers out there that want that typewriter feel without burning through paper using an actual typewriter.
Hi. I have this keyboard in wireless but I have been charging it for 6 hours and it still has a red ESC button. Is there something else I should be doing? I had it off figuring it would charge faster but nothing for 6 hours. I have now put it on USB and charging. Maybe charging it on a M1 Mac hub doesn't work? Any help would be grateful thank you.
Why TF do people still use 1898 typewriter layout QWERTY keyboards, when Corne etc exists, ergo, ortholinear, split, tiny, 32 programmable layers - vastly superior.
