These days, if a teacher said "If you touch him again, I will end you" to a bully, the teacher would be fired, the bully would get a formal apology, hug and cookies - and the news and social media would ruin the reputation of said teacher to the point of them being lucky to ever be hired again.
sad but true ... I agree 100 percent ... but if teacher wanted 2 step in and defend a kid ... im sure he/she could find some other way to help... I think part of the problem also falls on teachers to jaded to care... just saying ...peace
True, some teachers don't care. Always a few a-holes in any group.. but I think way too many are just afraid of getting involved these days because it's such a slippery slope on what teacher is allowed to do or say and what they're not. Even grabbing a misbehaving student's hand could be seen wrong by some. Therefor some kids know they're untouchable..
wasn't that phrase "i will end you!" first used in Good Will Hunting.. by the great Robin Williams? Yes..! he said that to Matt Damon... So Aziz' story not very credible...
blows my mind that people will watch aziz's hour long specials in their entirety (and enjoy it enough to youtube him and watch all his interviews) and then completely turn against him for re-using jokes. Talk show apperances (for comedians or actors) is basically an advertisement for their work. All talkshows involve some writing and pre-planning. Any non-comedian guest you see who you think is saying things on the spot, a majority of what they talk about has been pre-planned. it's like watching a trailer for a movie and going "WTF THIS IS BASICALLY PARTS OF THE MOVIE TO GET YOU TO GO WATCH THE MOVIE"
esau hamadanyan exactly, plus comedians specials are usually built up from things they see in their life and have a passionate take on. So it doesn’t mean he means it less. Plus, he wrote an entire book on this topic as well so where are these chumps finding fault?
***** Think whatever the fuck you want I don't give a damn. It's ill to see women suck up from famous people while we just stand there and watch them leave.
***** Yeah, I don't need to argue with a genocide advocate. Print some swastikas on your chest and claim your allegiance to Hitler. I really don't have time to convince you to be a tolerant individual.
Really, he talks to an imaginary Conan when he's on stage for his stand up? You should try learning the meaning of literally, because you used 'word for word' figuratively.
akn858 Why do you have to be such a technical grammar nazi? Do you go around often and scrutinize the quality of people's English without regarding they're native language or nationality, or the fact that it's a simple informal comment on RU-vid video? Thanks for correcting me. Possible employers were just about to come look at this comment to make the decision on whether or not they'll hire me based on the validity of my grammar. Thanks guy, please continue sharing extremely valuable and logical things with your time...
Michael Buza nailed it. If parents actually cared and did something there wouldn't be a problem but the fact is most America leaves the raising of the kids to the teachers at the school system (thanks a lot Hillary, your "village to raise a child" philosophy s actually making bullying WORSE)
Michael Buza what? have you been to a public school? my parents complained to their witts end when i used o get bullied, bu the schools and teachers dont give a real flying fuck. they make them "apologize" and thats it, meanwhile at my current high school they suspend me for showing up even a minute late to school for a few days.
I was bullied by kids & even teachers would mistreat me. Everybody took kindness for weakness so I started being bad. I got all the girls as a "bad guy" but then wasted my life with violence. Parental neglect also was a part of it. But the instinct to defend myself overwhelmed any sense of being good.
In 7th grade this guy bullied me until I punched him in the face in the class room in front of everybody. The teacher told us to knock it off and he left me alone after that. Nobody really messed with me after that. If you're bullied, then just knock the shit out of them and they will probably leave you alone after that.
Not everyone can be as confident as you. Usually you have the jocks that pick on kids smaller than them. If they do anything about it, they get the whole football team
I was merely pointing out my experience with a bully. I had a problem in high school also with some 'stoner guys', a bunch of them surrounded me and one sucker punched me breaking my nose for no good reason. I walked home as I lived a few houses down with a nose pouring in blood. I jumped my neighbors fence because they were knocking on my door, so I knocked on my neighbors back door (he was a football player and a good friend of mine) and told him the situation. Not too long after that we did have the whole football team over there looking for those punk bullies.
dude I was having a bad day once and some guys slapped me hard across the face fro no reason made my jac crack and everything and I don't know why but I just wasn't gonna take any shit so my body lurches to the side when he hits me and I like rebound lurch to the other side and as I do I punch him in the face nocked him the fuck down and he backed off instantly my friend was next to me and he said that I scared him because it was so fast and I hit him so hard
Unfortunately this is true. Most of the time you're not going to get respect from tougher kids, (or anybody for that matter) unless you fight back. Once you fight back and everyone witnesses it, then anyone will think again before fucking with you.
Why does everyone hate on comedians? Obviously he is going to use jokes from his special at the time.. that's the whole reason he is on the show.. to promote his special. That's like asking why an actor is talking about a movie they're in. If you don't like Aziz then don't watch this video or comment. Nobody said you had to like him or his material.
Shawn Newman Then it's outdated on top of disappointing. It's 2014, comedians have other ways to distribute clips of their stand-up to an audience. A lot of people will tell a story that wasn't good enough for their stand-up, or just engage in a little conversation with the host.
When I was a kid, kids bullied the hell out of me, souly because the teachers refused to do anything. A kid once hit me right in front of a teacher, and i got in trouble for complaining about it. The problem with bullying isn't the bullies, it's the piece of shit people who become teachers for the 3 months payed vacation and don't give a fuck about children, and would simply ignore a child in distress because it's not a mendatory part of their job.
***** wowww. so you just confirmed that teachers generally don't give a shit about students. If you don't care about the wellbeing of kids then DON'T be a teacher.
never looked at it that way, but yea, it's never a child's fault. That's insane to think anything is ever a child's fault. They're all still growing and learning. Adults need to have their shit together and handle bullying in a mature, thoughtful way... teachers are all supposed to be these kid-loving, fun-loving, lighthearted, sweet, caring, attentive people, but most of them are probably just people that wanted a job and looked at the pros and cons of that job and like you said "3 month vacation..." mmm, sounds good.
***** at the end of the day, yes, it's a cold world out there and you learn how to warm it up for yourself by having good parents. Teachers can't be their students' parents. It's too much to take on. It's impossible, in fact.
I was bullied every day for an entire year. I told my teachers, they didn't solve the problem. I told my principal, he didn't solve the problem. I told the schools SRO, he didn't solve the problem. I went to the kid's parents, they didn't solve the problem. So you know what I did? I waited at his bus stop, broke his nose and his jaw. The parents tried to sue me, I presented sufficient evidence of my bullies actions and they dropped the lawsuit. The best part about it is that the bully came and apologized to me after he left the hospital. Bullies thrive on power, take that power away with your own hands one time, and the bully will not bully again. Problem fucking solved.
+DrChitta then they are bad teachers. Bullying in my country is reason to get bad "behaviour grade" which is pretty big deal in order to get to good or any high school. There is no place for such behaviour.
I had a school councilor tell me (in the 5th grade) sometimes you gotta sock a bully in the nose and suffer the consequences. Bullies LOVE zero resistance. So I kicked the shit out my bully one day on the bus in front of his friends. Guess who didn't get bullied anymore. :) I got in trouble. lol
Society has made it so difficult on teachers nowadays, they are too afraid of getting sued or being fired for crossing lines with kids that straight up need it. A teacher today could never say that and get away with it...but they should be able to.
The 'I will end you' line is from the movie Good Will Hunting..said by Robin Williams when Matt Damon's character insults Robin Willam's character's wife ..not knowing she had died....good scene...
I'm from South Carolina, and I can agree with this. The teachers are generally good about protecting their students. There are some jerks, but we're pretty nice people.
+tungtjockis He has been on the show for many, many years. Ever since the early NBC days. There was a time when he wasn't on but I think he came back when Conan went to the Tonight Show.
Colin Bell what are the chances that someone has seen his stand up and also has seen this talk show episode? Well thanks to the internet its a bit easier now, and you dont have to pay a single cent. Now we all know, that if youve seen his stand up, that you are more likely a follower/fan, whatever you wanna call it. So the worst thing Aziz can do is repeat a joke. However, good jokes are not easy to comeby, if you have a good joke use it as much as you can (you will see a lot of repetition because again, the internet, you can watch free shit and complain about it). Now. Aziz is in a dillema, should he pass a good joke and settle for something new which may not be as good just to impress someone whinny like you who already knows who he is and has watched his stand up. Or Should he do his best jokes to attract new audience, some of which may already know him. But never seen his live stand up. Hell, even Seinfeld uses jokes that are about 15 years old, simply because theyre good. Logic/Marketing 101. You're welcome.
***** Did I say I didn't understand the reasoning? You know there are comics that make a point of not doing their biggest jokes in a Conan conversation, for the exact reason I stated; suspends the disbelief that these conversations are heavily scripted. I did say it was "blissful ignorance", implying I fully understand that they do it and they need to. There are comics that consider themselves above doing something like that, and Aziz often boasts about his ability to produce new material. Some comics would say it's in bad taste to ruin the suspension of disbelief in Conan interviews so overtly with a joke that anyone who has seen an Aziz special knows.
Colin Bell I dont know where youre getting this "some comics" commenting about Aziz on conan, sounds like a load of b.s. also I wasnt talking about conan per se, but in general why comics repeat jokes. Again I feel like I have to repeat myself on why it was particularly important to do those big jokes especially on a big talk show like conan. Just read my argument again at the top till it makes sense.
Ok... the ENTIRE point of putting another set of limbs on someone's butt would be to have how many legs? 4. How many legs does a centaur have? Yup, 4! So in fact, the correct word would be centaur.
I don't doubt that you are correct... I just gave definition of the two words so that people don't get confused by the two... I agree that the correct word for Ansari's joke is "centaur", which is what he said.
All of these shows are scripted or rehearsed to some degree. It's pretty standard for comedians to do part of their routine when they come on, and everyone else just comes up with anecdotes they're going to talk about prior to filming. It's pretty rare that a celebrity would come on an American talk show and just improvise the conversation.
+karima Heard Yeah, long live pre-interviews. These guys ask questions, which are setups to the funny moments. I think , craig's show was the last true impromptu show.
That's the problem, though. You can't tell a kid "Ah weel end Yeeeew!" anymore. You can't harm a kid in any way, physically or verbally. You can't stand up to your own bullies, because you get suspended. Even when I was growing up, teachers were toothless to deal with any bullying problem and it always came down to your word against theirs. Since most bullies are excellent manipulators, it's not hard for them to swing it back in their favour and get you even worse after school.
Truth. I was bullied by three kids during the fourth grade who once came and attacked my at my lunch table. I was the only one suspended for fighting, because they stuck to their story that I started the fight, and the other kids were too afraid or didn't care enough to back me up. I even got suspended for being involved in a fight where I didn't throw a single punch. I practically walked to the principles office with this belligerent girl riding my back, because the teacher wouldn't pull her off of me or stop the fight. I had been raised to never hit a girl, so I didn't. The principle finally pulled her off of me, and then suspended us both, her for hitting me and me for being so hittable.
A lot of rappers do this also. They'll freestyle on some radio show, and then the freestyle ends up being a song of their next album/mixtape. You guys have to realize this video has been out for 3 years. He did this joke a while before "Buried Alive" came out, and then added it to his show later.
Basically teachers have to be the bullies to the bully or give a punishment such as suspension, expulsion, or detention or whatever else there is, in order for the bully to stop bullying the victim
The only way to end bullying is if you bullied back, and fast, beat the guy up so hard, that he'll never hurt you again, no one will, that's an advice I got from another RU-vidr on another video, he bullied back then got in trouble, and nobody fucked with him again, I'm not even sure if he was lying or not, but why not try it, I'm willing to do so myself.
I was always against going to a teacher for help because of the whole "snitches get stitches" mentality in high school, but there is some pretty seriously fucked up bullying out there that legit would probably require police intervention. That being said, a swift punch to the face never hurt anyone (so to speak lol)
You know what? as a teacher I would LOVE to deal with bullies like Aziz's teacher did. But in this day and age, anything remotely like that means you will get sued, and lose your job, and not being able to teach in ANY public or private school ever. People would say is your job more important or the feelings of a kid. The reality is, teachers also need to pay rent/mortgage or make car payments or whatever. Things have gotten pretty messed up these days.
It's only because he is on tour. That's what they do. Tell the same jokes in different areas, and when they finish their tours, the recorded special comes out.
that's what you call promoting genius just cause you heard it doesn't mean his target is you his target is for the people who haven't heard it and want to become a fan of him
Very similar incident I saw while travelling on a bus in Bangalore few years back. 4 older/stronger kids harassing a smaller built classmate who was desperately and unsuccessfully avoiding them. A very lean IT guy (his laptop bag and ID card around his neck gave it away) confronted the 4 bullies asking (speaking in mixture of English/Bengali) if they would like to have a "one-on-one" with him instead. Bullies left at the next stop.
I'm actually glad that comedians come on talk shows and do their comedy routine.. because they only have enough time to do their good jokes and cut out all the dumb shit... I couldn't even make it through 2 minutes of Aziz's comedy routine.. but this interview was funny.
I actually pulled this kid's collar and punched him thrice in the face in front of school staff and dozens of teachers because he bullied me everyday. After that day I never got bullied again even in HS.
@@SuzakuX Are you saying you approve of the bullying OP was receiving because he used a one-syllable word? Seems we found the bullied he punched thrice in the face.
