I really like this one Lou, I've always been a fan of the Heavy Metal movie. I thought of a diorama I would like to do with the figures. I would scratch build that Nyborg dispensing machine and reposition Zeke's arms.
Love those guys. Nice to know there are still enough people who remember the movie (and the magazine) that someone decided that making the models was worthwhile. I hope they sell well enough that they make a lot more.
I think I could listen to the Heavy Metal sound track on a loop for years and not get sick of it. I've always wanted to make a 3D model of that ship. And the ELO UFO.
LOVE HEAVY METAL. Would love to see more kits from the movie. Also in one flash of the Plutonium Ship flying thru space, you get a glimpse of a destroyed Refit Enterprise.
This is now on my list of kits that you 'made' me purchase! You're a bad influence, sir, thanks for all you do! There is a Taarna kit (I think I got it from cgtrader) with her seated on the floor, not sure if there is one with her on her mount
Fantabulous ❤ when I ordered mine they said they only had a few sets left after the show! Not cheap, but a kitschy and fun set! Thanks for the excellent reference tutorial on finishing these.
Fun stuff! I like it all, Lou! Nice work! I love the base you made for these figures, as it brought it all together. You really are better at these figures than you ever give yourself credit for! It's good to step out of your ship-building comfort zone, no doubt, because you seem to be growing as a modeler with every figure/diorama that you build and paint! Your videos are always such a treat, man!
Maybe I was too old, but Heavy Metal didn't do it for me. You seem to be a major fan-- so this was a very sweet build. Apparently, among the various virtues of a printed kit is very few seam lines... or none. So it's straight to paint. But I did like the work on the base. Terrific base. Looking forward to Bruce!
I only found out about these figures from your video last week (never noticed them in the dealer room) and I had to get them. I just got here them, and my Edsel is one piece, not three like yours. I think the robot is three feet tall (compared to Gloria) making him 1/12 scale, so he's in scale with Bandai droids and Polar Lights' Robbie and one of their LiS robot kits. Anyhow, I like what you did with them, which is largely in line with what I was thinking. Dig your color-change base!
Lou, those lines are still very deep and wide. I was planning to do black lines between colors, but I may use some filler in there. They don't match the rest. I wonder if my one-piece Edsel is an earlier version. Your hollow one uses less resin.
@@Bellerophonmodeler You are correct! You got the rare test print set that was not supposed to go out in boxes! I guess it got mixed in with the others when Vicky was packing kits for the show.
